The scene about the 20 dollars has been a big part of my life, ive used it as a test many many times and it's never failed me. Had a similar experience when I won a large chunk of money on the lottery. While waiting for payment to come through, I did the same thing, asked several people to borrow monet without telling them about the lottery payment coming. It saved me alot of headaches, you can't imagine the people who come out of the gutters when they hear you won some money and it wasn't even alot of money less 10 grand. I had friends parent calling with sob stories asking for money, it was so sad. I had a few people get mad saying that it's not like I worked hard for the money and why was I being so unfair to them and not giving them any. Crazy crazy crazy. I almost wish everyone could have a similar experience, it hurts, but it really exposes your real friends.
Thanks for this comment cause it’s real life experience
Damn bro thats just fucking sad. The shit ppl would do just for money
Lol I won 6 grand on a penny machine at the casino one time and the same shit happened to me. I was young at the time, I think 19. I gave away the majority of that money. 2500 went to mother and siblings, I bought my best friend a brand new PS3.. I also gave my buddy 1000 dollars. He had gifted me 1000 months earlier when he turned 18 and got several hundred thousand dollars (potowatomi money). He didn't expect me to pay him back. But I had the ability to so I did.
What did you asking them for money do exactly?
I Definitely can relate. Never Lend friends money or do business with family members.
The part having the girl unlock the door for you. If she doesn’t reach across and unlock the door for you…… so important
Glad you enjoyed that. Thank you
Me too!
The Mario test
@@buckeye9252 That's the Sonny test.
@@Eli_Bankzz420 O what was the Mario test then it'd been a while
The movie has so many good quotes and mottos, when I was 10 years old I saw it with my dad, and I’m 34 now and still watch it, and live by it ,
The part where Robert deniro says
“It don’t take much strength to pull a trigger , let’s see if he can get up everyday and go work for a living” then we’ll see who the real man is, the working man’s a tuff guy,
Then C says “I don’t understand” and the dad says you will when you get older that shit hits, man that movies a gem
So many jewels in this movie
The working man is a sucker.
Bronx tale is a classic and based on truth. Chaz is a great storyteller
The working class man thing is my favorite part. His dad In that movie was such a good dad, and even didn’t hold a grudge against sonny, even after he died
that's the definition of racism though = how can hard work have meaning when you don't want everyone to work + you don't want everyone to enjoy the fruits of their labour = this has ALWAYS been a crock of s***, since the MOB, by definition, DOES NOT want to do a hard days work, in any way, shape or form + the civilians who live in their neighbourhoods are fine with them, as long as they don't hurt them or hurt their businesses = the second they benefit from crime, they mind changes instantly, so this entire movie is a fallacy, at best
@@DaFactsNoNonsense1713 The DeNiro character had no choice but to work [drive the bus] to support his family if he wanted to NOT earn money from mob involvement. He had no control over what the Palminteri character did beyond that. The only racist thing DeNiro's character said was that he didn't think blacks and whites should date or marry. Never said black people shouldn't have good jobs and places to live. So it goes back to what @kyledodson2992 said about DeNiro's character being a good father.
@@cnm2908 he definitely had control over his choices, since he could’ve easily listened to his dad, then find work elsewhere, but he trapped himself into the criminal world, by choice
@@DaFactsNoNonsense1713 I was talking about the DeNiro character. Not what his son said or did, that you didn't distinguish in your first response. This is my last time replying.
@@cnm2908 I was talking about the DeNiro character, but you're so low on the intelligence scale, you can't even read a few words in the comments properly, like a child would = you should avoid using your brain to make sense of things because it's cleared not geared towards doing that
"The saddest thing in life is wasted talent" was my dad's go to scene. Thanks Pops.
The Bronx Tale is one of my favorite movies. Very underrated film.
Yes it is thank you
UA-cam’s #1 comment. To anything. “Underrated” how is this movie underrated!
I like Michael Francese's take on love vs fear: fear only works until they fear something else more which is why so many guys turn rat but it's a lot less common to give up those you love no matter what they threaten you with.
The theme of being loved vs being feared is also mentioned in The Godfather part III (1990). Michael Corleone realized that Don Tomassino was so loved that by the end of his elderly age, he had no enemy, he was assassinated accidentally by Don Altobello's men.. who dressed in monks clothes for disguise & actually went to assassinate Michael, they met Don Tomassino on the way who offered them a ride then realized who they are. In contrast: Michael has been feared from the end of The Godfather part I (1972).. and he has so many enemies going after him.
That scene with the $20 and getting off cheap stuck with me through many relationships growing up.💯
A Bronx Tale is a classic.
One man one vote
@@f.boogaloospook2318 it’s definitely a classic, this is fact
You have a firm grip on the obvious
It also happened in Good Will Hunting that someone wrote the story as an unknown starred in it and it became a hit. Damon and Affleck actually wrote the script together.
“Mickey Mantle doesn’t pay the bills” fucked my world up at 8 years old
That's my favorite part... "nobody cares"... and it's true!!
"I give them just enough where they need me, but they don't hate me"
Joe Biden campaign
This concept of 'availability,' is brilliant and very true. I know that even people who are business owners....so many times, they do well, being available all the time to their staff and their customers, but when they get bigger , at times they do ' absentee management,' and it all falls apart. For morale sake and to keep the 'train on the tracks,' you have to be there, to be tough and be kind.
Really true. I've seen so many owners absent entirely, or basically absent while present, chatting on the phone, taking crazy-long lunches, making themselves unavailable, etc. Just checking out of their business life.
I remember lying on my sofa as a kid about 10 years old and this film came on about 1 in the morning it's always stuck with me since then
I applied the availability concept with running my crew in my first ever management position. This lead to me running for #1 store in the company for almost 3 years. Keep your crew happy and the product will sell itself.
He's dropping next level wisdom I wish I had heard when I was a kid!🤔
They should have just let Chaz continue with his lines from the movie instead of continually interrupting, totally killed the magic of what he was trying to recreate.
Too many people have to hear themselves talk. Patrick is horrible about that. He constantly interrupts people instead of waiting until they’ve made their point to contradict them.
One of my favorite movies. The scene that stuck with me the most, was when Sonny was talking to "C" about Mickey Mantel. It just validated a long held belief I had.
Even at a young age, I never believed in the concept of role models or idolizing the famous. Always understood that everyone is flawed and that people are selfish by nature.
Mirror neurons don't require your permission to work, nor are their functions voluntary.
Yes, it is also first Commandment: “you shall have no other gods before me.” We put our trust in Jesus. That’s it! And our life will improve.
People aren’t that selfish in nature. If someone feels he has something to protect then yes. If someone actually feels safe and taken care of and secure in life then that preserving, protective, selfish tendencies aren’t as pronounced. I would argue people are more selfless under the right conditions. It’s not biologically ingrained. It is a matter of sociological factors.
"Now you can't leave" Absolute best line and part in the movie. You knew it was going down, freaking intense!
Love that scene….the lesson as I took it: “Be nice, until it’s time not to be nice”. Then go straight after the leader.
"Now yous can't leave." Classic
The story about the divorced guy going round the divorce lawyers - Tony Soprano done that in the Sopranos
Most likely where he got it from lol
You are a total inspiration Chazz.
I know alot of people grip about Adam, I think he adds value to the show. One thing I don't think he realizes he constantly does is ask questions, then cut off the guest or tries to answer for them. Let the guests finish please
That's the liberal way. If a liberal ever allowed another to speak, they may, or probably, will end up looking dumb.
He really doesn’t add much
Love that 10 GRAND story! Salute to you Mr. Palminteri.
Time has value, money doesn't and
Macavilie is all about teaching tactical control..
Bronx tail one of the best mob movies of all time !!
Never knew he wrote it…now much more respect
In that 7minutes..man I learned a life time to deal with whose your friend and whose gonna be there when you need them. Priceless interview..keep it coming
Is actually better to be loved than feard because people only fear when they have no choice.soon as someone more fearsome comes along they'll all betray u.whereas if ur loved then people give their loyalty willingly regardless of wether there are more dangerous folks about and if u love someone u automatically have fear also because u will fear letting down/betraying/hurting that person
I have watched that movie so many times. I loved the part when he talked about the Yankees and Mickey Mantel. I never looked at sports the same way again.
The story the guy said was in the Sopranos. Tony did that to all the divorce attorneys in the area and his wife could get one
Lmao. You take advice from a movie. How pathetic
The best podcast EVER, made me love PBD snd the team.
PDB is such a construct of Hollywood movies it's amazing .He sprays his hair every morning.
thats a great story to kick off the show! o lovee it
He’s out of your life for 20 dollars. You got off cheap.
Goddamn only saw this movie for the first time today and I can honestly say it's one of the best films I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
My favorite movie of all time!!!
Brilliant truths all thru this play/movie.
Interestingly, I had discovered "the door test" myself during the 1980's (before keyless remotes). My now-wife aced it and she is my beloved partner 28 years later.
I have stopped watching anyone or anything connected to his close friend and complete nut DeNiro. But this movie is amazing. Not because of DeNiro but the absolute genius in the script.. It’s beautiful!
I've always said the exact same thing about weasels who stole small amounts of money from me.. "it's the price I paid to get them out of my life" Lol
One of the greatest movies ever. So many life lessons in truths in the mivie
just finished watching the movie it's a great movie loved it 💯💯
Haha there's literally content being added as I'm watching stuff from Chas, he's a cool fella. 😎
That Divorce story was from Sopranos
Yeah lol sounds like that didn't happen to his 'friend'... he just saw the same episode as us and thought it would make a fun anecdote
One of the greatest films ever made. The best character in it? Eddie Mush! He was a real life guy, a degenerate gambler. Palminteri tells amazing stories about him. He sadly died, and on the day of his funeral, they bring the coffin out, and the Hearse had a flat tyre.🤣
To be fair its an absolutely brilliant film!
Thank you for a great movie. You help raise me. Build my moral compas!!!
Great insight Chazz salute to you Bro from England God 🙏
Great movie! So many life lessons in that movie.
Watched the movie
For the first time when I was a young boy but didn’t fully understand jt til an adult I always go back and watch it from
Time to time
The fourth time a starving artist refused to sell their work and later had mega success producing themselves was in the music industry and it was Prince. He turned turn record deals at 19 years old because they wouldn't let him produce his first album by himself.
Keep it up with the celebs!
I’ve never heard of Bronx tale, but it also happened with good will hunting, Blair witch, paranormal, clerks… so it’s happened a few times.
Ditto on the $20 lesson (for me, it was $320k, but I never have to see their faces, ever again). 😮
Nahhh it's diff with that amount they robbed you
It happened in predator the bloke who wrote predator also starred in the movie
The working man is a sucker still gets me
That guy’s father was awesome
“How much does this guy owe you?” That one always stuck with me. But add “The art of war” by Sun Tzu to Il Principe by Nicole Machiavelli.
My 📱’s def spying on me cuz I did my annual re-watch of ABT a few days ago! Best soundtrack ever & so many life lessons (whether u agree w/them all or not.)
A forth time, it happened. Matt Damon I’m Good Will Hunting
I was taught to ask a bum for change before they ask you. Try it, it's hilarious 😂
I used to make my brothers watch Bronx Tale. Someone has to introduce you to this movie even though it's on TV regularly.
Did he just call chazz Sonny?
A classic for sure!
The "divorce story" comes directly from the Sopranos.
Yes ahahahaha
Top 10 movie character of all time
6:05 how funny that tony soprano did the same thing in the sopranos show
Godfather 123, Scarface ,Bronx tale,Goodfellas, blood in blood out, American me, boulevard nights,ex..
I'm missing more...any one knows other G movies
The story about his buddy calling all the attorneys is literally from sopranos lmao. Tony does that
Excellent movie 🎥 love it
I remember that 20 dollar line, and also the wasted talent line
The most ironic thing about it is that sonny loved C but his street life couldnt allow him to get close to anybody but he still gave sound advice even when we all knew sonny wouldve broke your legs for owing him 5 dollars. Sonny was the exact type of person he was telling C to stay away from. If only he mentored those other kids like he did C though smh nobodies perfect tho
This movie is a fucking masterpiece
Greatest movie of all time imo no debate
...and Sunny was not a racist man when advising C about his choice. Good for him! C could see beauty in all things without bigotry.
Always give people a little bit first to see if they will pay back
nows you cant leave.
3:50 lol did he just call him Sonny?
Yea lol I peeped that too! Chaz is probably used to it
The Mario test is the true test hahah
Greatest movie ever made.
Wow
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The movie is just perfect.
Love the movie one of my all time favorites, but the Machaveli quote is wrong. What Machaveli actually said was, it's safer to be feared than loved. When pressed as to what he was attempting to convey, he then said the word "better " but his initial statement was safer, not better. Look it up.
Sony created trouble during that parking spot altercation and didn't clip it out. 10 years later he died of cancer by Bullet
My "friend" would ask for a loan. He paid back most of the time. Last time $700.00. I made it plain no more until he paid it off. Haven't heard from him in 2 years.
Love of God, i pray for conversion of sinners, prodigal sons going to God***
all I can think of is Babys Day Out hahaha
The guy on his side is such a “pick me!!” 🤣🤣
Chaz is a G
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I lost a friend one time over $20.
We hung out years later & then lost / loaned $220.
The guy who called all top divorce lawyers in the state was Tony Soprano
This guy really told a Tony soprano story 😂😂
I bet he never watched the sopranos
It poetic
So THAT’S why my Counselor locked the door and said “Now Youse Can’t Leave” at our last session….😉
Lol he calls Chaz sonny
I just wish in real life that Chaz would smack D’niro around…😂
I grew up in a mob related family i wanted to be a tough g.. i hated all mob videos becuase, but the bronx tale is by far one of my favourites right next to green book also sonny was exactly like don who wanted me out but he saw something in me. Potential he called it.
5:58 the sopranos
The whole consulting the best divorce attorney in the state came right out of a scene in The Sopranos, not your friend. Unless you got it from your friend that got it from the show. It's still a funny and clever story, though.
No one stole it, it’s an actual law in some places.
