It's worth considering that perhaps the threat of death isn't particularly high, given the cases of Mighty Gazelle, or Zoda as well as the explicitly undead you mentioned- there's a very real possibility that given this level of technology, a lack of peril under ordinary circumstances might drive an individual to more and more dangerous and violent behaviors.
Part of me wishes Nintendo would explore the F-Zero universe further and do some real worldbuilding with the sequels (the sequels that WILL happen... eventually. Always hope). But at the same time, I do love when fictional worlds have ambiguity like this and speculation comes up with some really interesting stuff that any one writer could never come up with.
Look at Metroid, the world building is bare bones. And the Nintendo bosses don't know what a Bounty Hunter is. They think it is Indiana Jones in space. And yeah, I wish Nintendo would do something with the F-Zero IP. But Nintendo has always a new excuse for not making a new F-Zero, first they have no clue how to make a revolutionary new F-Zero game, now it is Mario Karts success.
Cool video, some interesting tidbits! There is an impressive amount of lore surrounding the series, and its something they could easily expand upon - IF THEY COULD GIVE US ANOTHER ONE!!! The wait is killing me lmao. (I'm the dude from Reddit who laments there is no new entry in the series lol)
Once again you have whisked me away to another place and time. You got one hell of a way to keep us enthralled, I don't just feel engaged, I feel like you're letting me in on a ancient secret. Never stop the Great Works.
I've of the mind, the whole thing, the whole circuit, the drama, the stories, the backgrounds? it's all an act, akin to WWE. Don Genie perfectly fits in the role of McMahon, for example. one of the owners getting directly involved? All sorts of crazy backgrounds to 'why I race' and being ready to race at a moment's notice?
Aww I love that you're using Yahtzen's music! That's super cool. Also this is incredibly well scripted and edited. I think Brad told you but I've started watching Outer Worlds, largely because of your video 😝 Keep it up Drew, these are so good.
whats funny is that the last 2 f-zero games (which were based on the anime) could be considered an AU the characters and places are all there, but each racer has *something* altered about their backstories to tie into the animes world better. and you know i absolutely adore gx but i feel the world of f-zero was much better realized in the anime.
Not at all the video I was expecting, it was far more in depth, philosophical an interesting! I really enjoyed this given my recent obsession with the game (or rather, second obsession. I first fell in love with the game in 2014, which was already over a decade after it released) and I just wanted to add the one part of the world/story that wasn't mentioned which is the reveal that all of the characters are performers, not that that adds much of value to your analysis of the world being presented. I think you did a fantastic job explaining and expressing the diverse, fantastic and insane world of F-Zero GX (as well as the dystopic world that it presents, albeit I think that's probably unintentional on the developers part)
ik i am late, but i have been fascinated by the F-zero world for years and this video was really cool! i would love to see another F-zero lore video like this from you!
GP Legend makes it very clear that there is a police force, and that the F-Zero Grand Prix series operates essentially as an independent nation, with the tracks essentially beyond the reach of the law except by means of the police entering the races themselves, hence the criminal elements among the drivers being willing to make public appearances at the circuits
Gx had a very interesting take on f zero, but not my favourite one. Gp legend had a better world, more like the DC comic style setting of SNES and n64. *Gx just went full Sega.
Dude you are overthinking this, it is just a dumb game
@@cafemm hey brother that's clearly the whole joke running throughout the video

Reminder that the Galactic Federation also has Child Soldiers, as shown by Lily Flyer's sheer existence.
If I recall, he N64 game's instruction manual mentions that F-Zero started as a gladiator-style sport where they forced convicts to race
So F-zero is basically what would happen if senator armstrong won.
lol
Little did he know GX's story mode is an in-universe movie.
Hey man I deliberately ignored the black shadow/deathborn BTS pilot profile movie for a reason you shut the god damn hell up
@@drewlov lmao. But your theories can still be true.

This was absolutely fantastic! This level of craftsmanship is rarely seen nowadays even on tv!

This completely overanalyzes F-Zero GX, and I love it.

Very well done video. Enjoyed every second
This video was incredible and a fantastic balance between funny and informative
Banger video, i wasnt expecting some deep dive into psychology and society and shit but im not disappointed

I wonder what Nagoshi was thinking of while he was developing this game, aside from making it hard
I need a 3 hour version of this. Thanks! UA-cam is hard but thanks for doing this.

The video I never guessed I needed. Fantastic.

Fantastic video. It is a damn shame that this doesn't have more views. I don't care how accurate or inaccurate this may be, it was a fantastic watch
I like to see F-Zero like WWE. Everything’s crazy and violent and hyper-consumerist, but that’s half the fun
I need more f zero videos from you QUICK! Good stuff!
13:36 Look on the bright side. When Goroh continues to drive, Silver somehow catches up to him, and whacks him in the head with his cane.
I'm not sure if it's just me but this made f-zero all the more interesting
Hilarious. Apex video essay right here. You deserve way more views.
It’s referenced in F-Zero X that Falcon was once a police officer.
This is one of the coolest games ever made. I think its a
masterpiece. Love the Golden Fox and Red Gazelle!
0:00-20:14 Absolutely.
Hey UA-cam, this guys good. Recommend him to more people.
Great video dude
Incredible video, ngl I would like this to be cannon.

masterful
Engagement
Amazing.
One of my favorite and one of the most unexplored games in terms of lore/story except for this video.
Jesus this was incredible lol
Rock on!
Epic this is
nice music
thanks bruv
This is a future depicted by the freedom and voracity of the 2000's, ignorant of the social oppression and social decay the 2020's is known for
good xcellent
