Thanks Elok for sharing your thoughts on bands in the 1970s and 1980s. I was an 80s teen and talk talk with mark Hollis haunting vocals and compositions spoke to me. I'm from the west of britain. I live in Indonesia now after 25 years in Asia. I am happy to remember beautiful music like this whenever I need it. I'm glad you find it too. You are a nice young lady on a journey.
Completely!! In fact, I am a 13-year-old argentine girl, that thanks to my parents I was able to know true music. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity, I am a big fan of Talk Talk and especially Mark Hollis ❤️💕 There is still hope, I can confirm it. 😊
It's so good to see young people like you appreciating real music in this days!!😊 I'm also lucky to be one, I'm a 13-year-old girl and I love the music of those years, like this song ✨ I'm also a big fan of Talk Talk, especially Mark Hollis. ❤💕✨A unique man and in many ways, perfect❤️ Saludos desde Argentina!!🇦🇷🫶🏻

This is why we old folk in our mid-60's will ALWAYS love the synth-pop music of the middle-1980's. "It's My Life" is very special to me--almost 40 years later--because it helped me through a four-year battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma (which I obviously won because "it's my life" then, and it's still my life today.) The POWER of this song lies in its deeply felt BEAUTY, and those dual aspects are inseparable. Sometimes I feel as if this miraculous recording does, in fact, tap into the human collective unconsciousness through the voice of Marc Hollis. One cannot deny its appeal across time and distance. It leaves its mark on us all. In the harmonies of Talk-Talk's "Its My Life" people find a harmony within themselves as truth and beauty mesh. A joyous and inspiring song from a man who was known specifically for his "gentle beauty."
I'm in tears listening to your response to this performance. Mark Hollis is a huge loss to the world of music but more to the the people he leaves behind. Bless you ....
Unbelievable Sounds, and Elok is So Right saying this is one of the Finest Live Performances of a Band I've heard!!! I subscribed and now a Fan. When I found out Mark shared the same Birthdate and he was 2 yrs. older, which hits me deep knowing I'm a Songwriter with 5 CD's out!!! I loved this Song from the very beginning, and Talk Talk to me, were very Underrated!!!
Such a beautiful review of a fantastic band ,a legend of a front man MARK HOLLIS what a voice. There is not one word left that could improve your review. No-one could give a better review in my opinion . So well done you. I am sure Marks family would be extremely happy and proud of him and this review. So sincere. Again well done you . RIP Mark Hollis
I was at a club in the 80s and this song almost got me moved to dance. That was the equivalent to a cripple throwing down their crutches and walking away.
Thank you Elok for reviewing this song. It's one of my favorite 80's pop songs. I had no ideal there is a live performance. Have to say they did a pretty darn good job performing it.
Another great song from my past. Great band. The instrumental part is much longer than in the studio version. They have a lot of great songs. The No Doubt cover is great too. Thank you for this reaction.
Thanks Elok! Glad you enjoyed! You gave a nice appreciation of it and Mark. Mark is the rare artist who, as the band was getting more and more popular, went completely away from commercial music. You mentioned that in your description. Very rare for someone to distinctly say “no” to money like that. I can’t think of another artist who did it so clearly in the pop/ rock field. You could see it in the way he was wearing sunglasses and then just sat down in the middle of the song, not caring about being “a rockstar“. And then in the early 90s he basically stopped writing music. So he was definitely a man of artistic integrity. RIP to him, an outstanding artist. They have a bunch of other good songs if you ever want to react to them in the future. Thanks again! 🤍🤍
For sure a TOP 10 song of the 80ties , and dont underrestimate this, top 100 of the 80 where all AMAZINGLY good . BTW the 80ties where the best productive years of music
He did.... millions love him today... ❤❤❤❤ He was special... special people could always see it... and... he did not need it at all. He did what he loved... I have been in love with him for 40 yers now....
Stereo-Love... Left and right on the screen simply gorgeous..🤗‼ Please react on more Talk Talk of her legendary Montreux concert! All songs they played are epic!!💯‼
Their " Colour of spring " album is uniquely beautiful! Unfortunately, not many people know about this band, not even those from that era. Hope you'll react to more of Talk Talk. Thanks!
Talk Talk, a band who only got more and more interesting as their albums progressed. Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are masterpieces. Mark Hollis--one of those rare artists who emphasized quality over quantity (as did Scott Walker, who died the same year as Mark, and like him also started out popular/commercial and ended up very much not). And when he had said all he could say artistically, he simply, gracefully stopped.
A great song one of my favorites. If you watch the original video it has many images of wildlife, as you can hear bird noises in the song, but it is a song about a love and cheating
Mark Hollis had an incredible soulful voice while looking like he's not even trying. Please check out Talk Talk's more intimate albums : The Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden. But do yourself a favor : listen to these albums when you're in a calm place alone while focusing only on it. I know this might seem over the top but these albums are a spiritual experience. I can almost guarantee you'll have a whole new worldview after the listening and even might remark things you've never noticed before. And because you like crazy guitar (no metal without this element), if you're looking for a mesmerizing live performance, check out Prince live "Play that funky music - Hollywood Swinging - Fantastic Voyage". And "Bambi" at the Tokyo Dome for pure shredding performance.
Great reaction and summary. This is one of the best bands ever, and also that concert in Montreaux. Please react to Living in another world, you’ll be more than amazed. Thank you!
Wonderful reaction & I agree with every word. As time goes by my feelings about Mark Hollis are getting deeper & deeper. His final album was sublime, he disappeared to a different world ... R.I.P. Mark. Your spirit is eternal.

Ok, Mr. Mister, the song Kyrie. You will love it, I guarantee that and it’s from that same early era. One thing you should know about me is I know what I’m talking about when it comes to good music and two, I never recommend bad music ever! @@ydoesgooglesuck1960 Are you seriously suggesting that the No Doubt cover is superior, or have i misread your comment?
It's his life, we won't forget. RIP Mark Hollis.
What a voice, what a band. so good to see a young lady enjoying Talk Talk.
The smile on her face, as the song begins, priceless, enjoy it, the 80’S was the best time of my life.
While there are young people like you championing real music I still have hope for the future.
No doubt!
Hope springs eternal they say. I used to be like you but it's going on 40 yrs.
Very Well Said
24 year old here. I love this song for its sincerity and sound. Music simply had soul which is more difficult to find nowadays.

❤❤❤❤
They were so special... Mark is my heart and soul for ever
one must never forget when this song was written and sung....timeless
Good choice, back then when music was real
One of my favorite song by talk talk.
I love to see kids exploring music, and let alone, FANTAZMIC song writers and performers! This is a song (and band) that will always move your soul.
100000 % agree!!!!

Such a shame from the same concert is brilliant too!
Loved it thank you! ;)
This has a classic MV as well (using the animal sounds in the song), making it about the life of nature and not only a love affair.
Girls and boys fell in love at the disco when that kind of music was playing.
I'm in tears listening to your response to this performance.

@Boris - Love this band. Talk Talk wrote the song. No Doubt did the cover. RIP Mark Hollis.

I love this song - Luiz, Florianopolis, Brasil
These musicians can play their asses off. Some deep layers on this track. It's sometimes forgotten it goes so far back. Thank for review
Very good choice to react to.
The band stopped touring after this tour. Hollis shunned publicity and wanted a quiet life with his family.
