Isi The Medic 4 minutes ago This is a great video! You summarised everything so well! I liked how you talked about the resources. I scored highly on my third attempt! Now I am finally studying Medicine at Warwick Uni!
If you're planning to apply to a UK medical school in 2021, then it is the time to take UCAT tutoring. I took my UCAT coaching from iCanMed and crack the UCAT exam with highest percentile. They offered me appropriate support in my studies, UCAT tips, and UCAT resources.
thanks so much for this video its so helpful!! im doing the ucat anz and its coming up in 3 weeks im so nervous. everything u say is so valid especially the timing and flagging i went from scoring 2600 in the practise tests 6 months ago to averaging 3100 with better strategy, so hopefully i can replicate it on the day!!!
@Amelia Mackie ... July 29 is the date here 😰😰 What resources are you using?? Is Medify a must? I’m using the “Ultimate UCAT guide” book... wonder if that would be sufficient?!
@@inmyopinion- Hey, sat my exam yesterday and absolutely stoked with a 3250 score!! For me I only used medify because I thought the online resources would better replicate the exam. The official mocks and question banks on the ucat website were also helpful. Good luck!!! im sure you'll do great
I’ve started practicing the ucat I’ve realised I’m really good at the abstract reasoning getting around 750. But verbal reasoning and decision making is my worst nightmare with 540 average. Please help.
Watching from Australia and doing the UCAT ANZ and my exam is on July 3. I’m the opposite to you I do quite well at verbal reasoning but my quantitative reasoning and my maths skills are so low. If you could please do a video on QR that would be really helpful

Hey Anna, I am from Bangladesh, and I recently finished my IGCSE. Here Are my results: Chemistry-8 Maths A-8 Maths B-7 Pure Maths-6 English language-7 Bengali-8 Biology-6 Physics-6 So, would I be able to get to med school with that? Please help me, I would really be thankful! I love to watch your videos, lovely girl. Thankyou for your generous and humble time!!!!!
Agreed these are good grades you should be fine to get into a lot of universities. Make sure you take chemistry and biology at a level and get your 3 A’s and you should get in. Thanks so much for watching, so glad you enjoyed the videos, it means a lot. 💛
Is anyone else really worried because you aren’t seeing much progress in terms of the percentage score for each section on medify- I’m quite a bit below average on every section but SJT and despite doing hours and hours (about 300 questions on medify) every day I’m not seeing much progress( maximum 2% increase each day) I’m so anxious because I’ve tried every technique and approach to each section and yet the results are so so varied- like sometimes I’ll get only a couple wrong and other times I’ll get only a couple right- I’ve yet to get all right in every section- and worse sometimes my percentages go DOWN! I’m just wondering should I be getting above average by the time my test is here? It’s just so worrying because if I’m WAY below average now then on the day where will I score?! Also when should I do the mini mocks on medify because I haven’t finished all the others sets yet and I’m not seeing much progress so don’t know when it’s worth sitting them- it’s just all so overwhelming- im scoring a range of 500-600 in all sections and band 2 SJT- i only have a month left and I want to do really well! I'm using medify and it seems to work really well but I think its just me! :/
Do one entire two hour mock a day to atleast get used to the length of the timing. Also try lucozade before the exam. Helps a lot. Trust me. Im also in your situation
Hi, I am currently revising for the UCAT and I was trying to buy the Kaplan strategy book….but I couldn’t find it anywhere…..only the Questions book is showing up available to purchase….so could you please send a link where I could purchase the Kaplan Strategy book?
A bit of a random q to ask but is the ucat a bit like the 11+ entrance exam bcz i go to a grammar school and from what ive seen its seems a bit like that with the non verbal and verbal reasoning...but obviously a lot harder?
@@annarebecca DC instead of dm and you got an impossible score of 280😂 but its minor very good video furthermore the kaplan mock test you are talking about is it from going on the prep course or the book
Hi are you able to sell your Kaplan strategy book for Ucat as I’ve looked online and can’t find it anywhere also you said to practice online what is the best platform for that as you weren’t impressed with medify I’ve think questions on medify are to easy compared to the real thing plz advise as I’m struggling thanks
Hey, I loved this video - I think its provided the most useful tips compared to others (especially as I'm a fellow dyslexic!). I was wondering what Kaplan course did you do? Self study, live ones, 1-1 tuition or the rapid version?? I'm looking to join it!! Thanksssss so far!
Heyyy, Thank you so much for watching so glad you found it helpful! Fellow dyslexics have to stick together, have you signed up to do the UCATSEN which gives you extra time? make sure you do this ... I then did the Kaplan course, not 1-1 or rapid just the normal one which was really helpful and I would definitely recommend it. It is quite expensive but really helpful. xx
@@annarebecca thanks for the reply! And yes I'm doing the UCATSEN. I guess you did the classroom version? I wouldve done that version if that was still an option! I've just purchased the 1 to 1 tuition instead. Yes its pricey but I think it will be worth it! Again thanks for the recommendation
I had 520 Verbal reasoning 670 decision making 690 quantitative reasoning 630 abstract reasoning 2520 total Band 2 situational judgement Please recommend me affordable good colleges around this score range 2020 be4 oct 15 P.S thank you so much for reading.
I joined their programme which I found to be really helpful! I did personally try Medify for a little bit and just didn't get on with it, hope this helps and thank you so much for watching!
Would you mind sharing any notes you made for the ucat that may be useful for others because I have just started preparing for it and I am stressing myself out.
I’m starting my access to medicine in September and your videos for Ucat and stationery prep are fantastic, can I just ask what MacBook you have? I’m really unsure whether to go for the pro or air for medicine to go through access course and also onto medicine at uni. Also did you do a course at Kaplan for the UCAT? I’m debating doing one to give me more confidence but unsure which to do if you do one? 🙂
Thanks so much for watching, I am so glad that is so exciting your off to do medicine. I have a MacBook Pro but it is VERY old. I have looked into getting a new one and personally if I didn’t want the processing speed of a pro to edit my videos I would just go for an air as they are cheaper and slightly lighter. I did do a Kaplan course and found it really helpful in boosting my confidence! Hope this helps, anymore questions just ask x
everyday Anna Thankyou. Which course did you do if you don’t mind me asking. There are 3 different ones the main live online, self study or the rapid revision? X
Thank you these tips are useful! But I don’t think that I would be able to take everything in 4-5 weeks I think I need atleast 3 months, but since the UCAT test results only last for a year is it necessary to retake it again?
I'm so glad these tips are helpful for you! Im so sorry I'm a little confused by your question. You are right UCAT results are only valid for a year which means if you do badly you can retake it for the next application the year after if this is what you mean?
@@annarebecca Thank you for answering my question! As for the other question, I was trying to say that since UCAT results last a year and if I don’t apply next year for university, does that mean I must resit again because my results would have expired? And yes I also wanna know if it’s possible to resit if I do bad?
everyday Anna Yeah, same. I’ve recently just finished watching all of the videos from their 20 hour online course and attempted their two practice mock tests.
hi, i have been using medify and the 1250 ucat question book for my revision, and my exam is in less than 2 weeks!! did you not like them because they were more difficult than the actual ucat exam or was there another reason?
I only didn’t like them because they are harder, which might suit you to revise like that. Personally it just stressed me out for no reason. I wouldn’t worry to much but do make sure you do the real UCAT papers on the official website before your exam, these are the most similar to what you will see on the day.
Thank you so much for these tips ! they were so useful! Recently, UCAT have decided to scrap whiteboards and pens ans instead, we'll be using a digital notepad. Do you have any advice for this?
So glade you found this helpful! Really I hadn't heard this! So I would say if you can make sure you practice using a digital notepad or iPad or whatever resembles it as closely as you can. Practice really does make perfect and it will be a lot easier if you can practice with something similar.
From my experience, the VR questions on Medify are easier than the actual exam so not a good representation of VR difficulty (I was scoring in the 800s for VR towards the end of my practice but only got 680 in VR in the actual exam), AR and QR are harder on medify, easier in the actual exam
No you can still use it, just I don't think its the best. it is very hard in comparison so just make sure you know that when using it and you will be fine x
no don't worry it's good to help you get used to the theory and train yourself up. I would use that book untimed to get used to the questions and pick up patterns then I would use an online resource such as medify to do timed questions and get used to the exam online layout. Best of luck xx
@@emilyzheng7559 6med was not worth it, the questions were too easy and they layout didn't match the real thing. Medify is 100 times better but its still somewhat easier compared to the actual ucat
How often would you say to do a practice exam in order to track improvement? Once a week or at the end? I feel like leaving exams at the end might be too late to work on mistakes. Where would I get practice exams that arent the ones on the official website? Thanks, sorry long question.
I wouldn't start doing practice papers until you have practiced each of the different sections for a bit and then start doing practice papers once a week, then nearing your exam date start doing them more often. I used the Kaplan resources which you can pay for. No problem at all thanks for watching and I hope this helped x
You did fab!! Well done!! Amazing score for AR, that was my worst section in the exam. My best was QR with a score of 880. I do think there was a slight error around 4:48 when the overall score was posted on screen you put 2800 but your average is 705 and your scores add up to 2820. No biggie, I enjoyed the video.😁
So glade you enjoyed it, a lot of people say the style of questions aren't that similar. They are apparently abit harder too, I just don't think it is the best resource but it does work for some people x
For obtaining the best score or top percentile for the 2021 UCAT exam, candidates have to break down the UCAT exam to the five main subtests - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Decision Making, Abstract Reasoning, & Situational Judgement. And, try to score each in each section. iCanMed helped with their absolute strategies, tips, and UCAT resources and I got the best score in my UCAT exam.
Want the doctor-created strategies that can unlock higher UCAT scores? I used iCanMed for my UCAT preparation. They offered me fully worked solutions, time saving techniques, score boosting strategies, and 2020 edition UCAT study material.

@@annarebecca DC instead of dm and you got an impossible score of 280😂 but its minor very good video furthermore the kaplan mock test you are talking about is it from going on the prep course or the book
great UCAT video ! hope it helps other pre meds :)
Me too! Thanks so much for watching
This is great 💓
Thanks so much lovely 💗
Hi are you able to sell your Kaplan strategy book for Ucat as I’ve looked online and can’t find it anywhere also you said to practice online what is the best platform for that as you weren’t impressed with medify I’ve think questions on medify are to easy compared to the real thing plz advise as I’m struggling thanks
What score did you get in UCAT ?
hey anna i have the kaplan question bank. how does it compare to the real thing?
Hey, the Kaplan questions are really good I would really recommend it, they are very similar to the real exam so great practice!
Thank you so much!! im giving my exam on 10th september and im so scared!!!
you have got this! I’m so sure, good luck girl!!! sending all my thoughts
@@annarebecca i hope soo! ❤️❤️
@@kashika6373 How was it :D
Hey, loved your video! Did you go on any UCAT courses to help you in your preparation? or did you only do self study?
So glade you found it helpful! Yes I used the Kaplan course which I would really recommend it was amazing x
Great video thanks! Did the Kaplan strategy book come with access to online questions as well or is that a separate thing to buy?
Thanks so much for watching. No I'm sorry I believe you have to buy it separately!
I had
520 Verbal reasoning
670 decision making
690 quantitative reasoning
630 abstract reasoning
2520 total
Band 2 situational judgement
Please recommend me affordable good colleges around this score range 2020 be4 oct 15
P.S thank you so much for reading.
Hi, where are you now?
I'm sitting this on the 12th of septmeber and I'm terrified that I'm too thick to do well on it😂
No of course your not! have confidence you will do amazing!
Same!
I’m a bit dumb and scored not bad in it- so you’ll be fine! Check out my vid! X
Did you personally use medify? And did you just buy the Kaplan book or did you add ENT their program? Great video btw 👍
Hey! Can you link the Kaplan strategy book to this comment? I can’t find that specific cover in your video
oh no i’ve only used medify as i’ve payed for it. Would you recommend buying that book as well? x
I would I do think it might help you, there are lots of good videos on youtube to help too and medify is still good so don't worry too much xx
Hope this helps, anymore questions just ask x
everyday Anna
Thankyou. Which course did you do if you don’t mind me asking. There are 3 different ones the main live online, self study or the rapid revision? X
@@serenagreenough121 Hey just wondering how you got on with access to Med? I’m staring next week 😥
Your so pretty!! New subscriber here ❤️💙
Thank you so much this means a lot! ❤️
@@cherrycolagames3187 yes you'd need to retake it the next academic year
@@farashasyeda4865 Thank you
What about themedicportal as a recommendation?
I really like the medic portal I think there resources are really helpful!
everyday Anna Yeah, same.
8:39 That part was actually quite funny 😂
thanks 😂
What resources do you personally recommend ??
I'm looking into medicine at the moment would you say that it's too late to start preparing for the UCAT or doing it next year?
Plenty of time did you decide to book your Ucat?
Thank you so much for these tips ! they were so useful! Recently, UCAT have decided to scrap whiteboards and pens ans instead, we'll be using a digital notepad. Do you have any advice for this?
So glade you found this helpful! Really I hadn't heard this! So I would say if you can make sure you practice using a digital notepad or iPad or whatever resembles it as closely as you can. Practice really does make perfect and it will be a lot easier if you can practice with something similar.
I think we’re still provided with a laminated notebook and pens
@@fikesh4642 yeah i thought this too?
Are you studying dentistry/medical in Uk?
Thanks for the video! What was it about Kaplan that you liked, as opposed to medify? x
I just preferred the layout of the questions and also the questions themselves I found to be more similar to what you get on the day x
@@annarebecca ok thank you!
When did u give your UCAT?
Did you get more time due to dyslexia
I did yes I did the UCATSEN
Hi would massively appreciate a reply. Can you recommend a question bank for me other than medify?
hey so like I said the question bank I used was the kaplan one which you do have to pay for but I would really recommend it. I hope this helps
everyday Anna Thanks so much. What do u think of med entry?
is there a reason you wouldn’t recommend Medify? did you find the questions not accurate to the actual UCAT?
Yes I didn’t think they were as similar as the Kaplan ones!
From my experience, the VR questions on Medify are easier than the actual exam so not a good representation of VR difficulty (I was scoring in the 800s for VR towards the end of my practice but only got 680 in VR in the actual exam), AR and QR are harder on medify, easier in the actual exam
@@davodshah8869 thanks for the info I'll definitely keep that in mind whilst practicing
How many weeks did you revise for?
About 6-8 weeks!
@@annarebecca ah thank you for the response. Is it alright if I DM you just to chat a bit more about it x
@@annarebecca hi! With those 6-8 weeks, how many hours did you do each day?
oh no i just bought the book you said not to! is it really inaccurate or could i somehow put it to good use?
No you can still use it, just I don't think its the best. it is very hard in comparison so just make sure you know that when using it and you will be fine x
@@annarebecca ok :) thanks so much for your help
its extremely hard
very useful
so glad!!
Is Medify the best resource?
I didn't use medify no
@@annarebecca how come everyone says it is the best?
I literally just ordered the 1250 ukcat book the other day, and now I’m hearing it won’t help 😣😣😣 oh no
no don't worry it's good to help you get used to the theory and train yourself up. I would use that book untimed to get used to the questions and pick up patterns then I would use an online resource such as medify to do timed questions and get used to the exam online layout. Best of luck xx
It's a great book! It's a really affordable book that I myself used and recommended in my UA-cam video for the QR section!
what about 6med compared to medify
Ive actually not tired 6med but ill let you know
@@annarebecca thank you, do you also know where I can find the kaplan strategy book, the only one I can find are the six, seventh editions etc
I bought 6med and medify. So far I think I only needed medify
@@emilyzheng7559 6med was not worth it, the questions were too easy and they layout didn't match the real thing. Medify is 100 times better but its still somewhat easier compared to the actual ucat
HOW MANY times did u do the UCAT?
just once x
Unfortunately if everybody could get in the top percentile there would be no percentile and there would be no entry exam😂 but thank you!!
This is true!! Hope you found it helpful anyway
@@annarebecca definitely yes you’re amazing!
thanku so muuuch
no problem at all
Oh no just found about it now do u think I can start it now
What have you just found out about? but I’m so sure you have time!
btw i have subscribed !
Thank you so much
How often would you say to do a practice exam in order to track improvement?
Gd job dear
Thanks so much!
Thank you for the great video💗😊. Why didn't you like medify?
So glade you enjoyed it, a lot of people say the style of questions aren't that similar. They are apparently abit harder too, I just don't think it is the best resource but it does work for some people x
@@annarebecca did you mean the questions are harder on medify or on the real ucat?? thank you so much for your reply xx
Julia I think she said that medify is harder
For obtaining the best score or top percentile for the 2021 UCAT exam, candidates have to break down the UCAT exam to the five main subtests - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Decision Making, Abstract Reasoning, & Situational Judgement. And, try to score each in each section. iCanMed helped with their absolute strategies, tips, and UCAT resources and I got the best score in my UCAT exam.
Thanks so much hope this helps someone!
The tips start at 6minutes guys lol..
2820 not 2800 :)
sameeeeee
