    Hi, thank you for your videos. Your work is greatly appreciated. However, I have question regarding the direction of the extendors being massage. Why direct the massage distal to lateral epicondyle, or was this myofascial 6:05 technique just for the sake to attempt to release the fascia a little bit more? Thank you and you are great.

    I am just about to graduate from Massage Therapy school and love watching your videos I think the most out of all of them because you're have such a soothing voice and very descriptive. I sometimes have a problem with remembering the origins and insertions and even the actions.. I'm old..lol It takes me many repetitive motions or while doing massages to get the hang of things and right now with everything closed down I'm not getting much experience either. But I know the more experience I get the better I will get at it but I find it super challenging right now. I will be doing my final practical exam via Skype with one of my teachers so wish me luck! lol Thanks so much for your videos, I can't get enough of those. Stay safe! ~ Love from Calgary, Alberta

    I'd love to have a massage therapist like yourself. I have widespread chronic tendonitis alongside myofascial inflammation in my entire body... my fingers, ankles, wrists, knees, shoulders, golfers and tennis elbow... all that fun stuff. It's really difficult to manage especially when I cannot self massage because it is on both sides.

    Hi Ive had tennis elbow for the last two years with several shots of cortisone and nothing has worked. Ive finally started a routine from watching several videos from youtube, with all the clinics that i have gone to over the last two years, they all applied heat for the first 15 min then proceeded to do their techniques but i noticed that you applied ice, should i be switching to ice before i start my massages or keep with the heat. Thank you so much if you are able to respond. Andrew

    I had some elbow pain all day today. I massaged my forearm only for about 2 minutes like you showed, and I immediately felt some relief! It’s not 100% better, though, so I will have to do it again tomorrow. I hope it continues to ease the discomfort.

    Hi, I just found your videos today and am really enjoying them! I have a couple of questions about this one. First, do you think that massaging the powerful opposing flexors would also be helpful for treating lateral epicondylitis? Second, you focus on specificity and show finger movements designed to isolate each muscle. Yet you refrain from naming the individual muscle that you are focused on with each. Is this because you sense that most therapists are better off thinking about what they feel in the arm rather than recalling attachments for each muscle? Thanks!

  • @kenwakeman1963
    @kenwakeman1963 6 років тому +6

    My understanding of Direct ice is that it is creating the Hunting response, which is vasodilation or lots of blood flow to the area. It is very useful for softening hard muscles and you can tell you have the response by the red flush to the skin. In this case however you seem to be wanting traditional cryotherapy to reduce swelling, which is the opposite reaction to what placing ice directly on the skin will give.

      It's really little risk on the forearm, and can help in certain areas to target attachment points, like the extensors of the wrist and fingers in this video.

    I really admire your amazing techniques as well as the workflow, thank you! One thing I would like to point out is that "tendinitis" is actually a misnomer. There are many studies that were done that showed no signs of inflammation on tissue level. That is unless you catch the issue at the onset. Majority of clients that come to massage are well past the inflammation stage, so not sure on the use of the ice cube before. Moreover, the classic approach to lateral epicondylitis is xff with ice application post treatment.

    • @laurious1833

      I was wondering about just having the client ice prior to the massage (as well as following).

    • @lilagracemoves
      @lilagracemoves Рік тому

      The only true purpose of the ice in massage would be to numb it so it's less painful for the pressure to the area for the therapist to work. Everything she is saying about it is against the science on this.

    Somebody tried to apply such force with his thump on my elbow and i felt a ton of pain that would not go away for days. People have this tendency to believe that power pressure will make you feel better after a treatment. That is not the case most of the time. Massage at the peak of an inflammation is weird to me to say the least. Having a tennis elbow needs rest primarily with a doctors antiflamatory prescription . Swim helps a lot and massage should be given after peak pain has subsided. At least for me . Ice didn't help me much either . Stretching did help. Good video though.
