Agreed, this is the type of work we can do on a daily basis and enjoy. To translate is to want to discover the meaning of the words that can then, upon review, be memorized as the meaning given by the context of the sentence, instead of as an English definition.
This man does not take a break. You're putting in so much effort man, just saw your video game tier list yesterday, and now another 1hr video. Thank you bro 👊
I think doing weekly Vocab videos made in 1 day is both better overall for the channel, but also way better for mental. It's really mentally great for creatives to have projects that block 1 day, where you can just focus in that time period. Super good idea I feel.
Yeah for sure! It took about 3 days total for the edit, but definitely a lot easier than 2 weeks - 1 month like other videos! haha I think trying to hit a weekly release as often as I can will be best for everyone :)
I've watched literally every single one of these 40 episodes over the last year. Amazing teacher and amazing supplement for anyone's self-study. Although I play through games on my own as well, this series has really helped tie together many grammar points that I never understood when I came across them on my own naturally as well as many, many dialects I never understood how to find definitions on my own. I feel I've gained a better grasp on grammar than I ever have over this last year and hope to pass the JLPT N2 this December! Thanks for the content, your passion for the language shows immensely through your videos!
いち日本人として楽しく動画を視聴させていただきました!動画全体を通して、解説が丁寧で驚きました!特に「いいね」の説明は見事です!(まさにthe like buttonです。)どの内容も的を得ていて素晴らしいです。しんちゃんのゲームは子ども向けなので、ひらがなが多い反面、地方特有の表現も入っていて、日本語の学習としては、とても奥が深いですね。
Nice!!!! I finished the first shin Chan game when I first saw it through your channel! I learnt so much vocabulary with that game and end of this summer I started the coal city as well! Keep up the great work Matt! Awesome job as always!
I'm going to Japan tomorrow for the first time and I just want to say thanks a lot. I don't know a lot of japanese but I know a lot of basics words with Duolingo and videos like yours. Just wanted to say a big thanks for your work. The way you're teaching it is so good in every single episode. With the step by step and explaining the formal/informal way with some examples. For real, thank you
I love this style of video! I love Shin Chan and I can finically understand what the characters are saying! Please continue to make videos of this series! I have also subscribed to your channel.
Thanks so much! The videos are a crazy amount of work, but when something feels like its worth making, all you can help do is keep working as hard as you can! 😁
Ok now I’ve had a chance to see the video and I left off in the game right when you get the encyclopedia. Great video and explained a few things I missed (I just breezed past them and realize now I shouldn’t have lol). Thanks!
Maaaaaan, this game is really making me want to visit the Tohoku region specifically Akita prefecture over the Kyushu region. But I don't know they are both equally beautiful and have interesting places but I wouldn't have a car and its gonna be years before I can even visit Japan in the first place. Anyways thanks so much Matt hopefully I can get more of that country speak down and eventually I swear ill understand keigo.
So you like tohoku? You know akita has most beautiful women in Japan according to them they are called akita bijin or simply akita beauty calling the women there beautiful haha anyway whenever I try learning more about tohoku or so I always get sick irl (bad omen?) Kyushu is somehow good but I like snowy tohoku oh mann
my boyfriend is from akita so we go there together! akita is really beautiful love the nature but it is really hard to travel with no car, so i would not really recommend going there with no way of transportation! but it is really pretty and they have amazing food! if you go there i would definitely recommend going there at festival time!
This was amazing to watch! I've been nursing this video since it's release and i especially love the break down of the dialects and how detailed the definitions are❤ どもありがとうございます。
I only just purchased the first Shin chan game a few days ago after seeing your recommendation. Its a very cruisy, relaxing game. Will definitely luck this one up in thw future.
The positivity in all of your videos is very encouraging and your content is amazingly helpful to decipher more colloquial language. I think I detect a very South Australian accent. 😉
I’ve been watching the anime forever, but this is the first time I watch it as Japanese learning material. What a wonderful job, Sensei! Thank you so much for the detailed and interesting explanation!
One thing I'd be truly grateful to have cleared up: In "そうだったゾ", why is the last letter ゾ instead of ぞ ? It's not just in this example but you see this very often, where one can see little reason for katakana usage. It's not a foreign word, not an onomatopoeia, etc. I honestly don't see why normal speech shouldn't be written in hiragana unless a special katakana function is necessary. Does the katakana serve any purpose here? What difference would it make if it were "そうだったぞ" ? Thank you in advance!
Which game would you guys suggest as a first game: shin chan (either me and professor or the coal town), or ni no kuni? Ni No kuni looks more fun gameplay wise but shin chan seems to have more daily life japanese.
That countryside flavor would definitely trip me up if it wasn't for you to shed some light on what can I expect. It's the same everywhere, from the us to europe, don't know why i'm so surprised lol thanks again, love your work - you're putting so much god damn effort into your vids, damn inspirational! : ) : )
You are an amazing teacher. I'm still noob, so a bit too fast for my ability to listen, but think I'll ketchup (lol)😂 From childhood I have a lot of hearing damage. My parents heavy smokers, so tons of ear infections. I'd get a hearing aid, but it is all a volume issue, so told the damage I have it wouldn't resolve that. So take my critique with a grain of salt. This upcoming Spring Level 5 is releasing a new Fantasy Life. It might be a good game to try to drag plebs like me to being able to pretend we are making progress in our learning:) Thank you for the effort. I hope you are top tier successful in your channel.
This new video system i think is also better for the learners too. Reason i say that is because retaining the first set of learned words is easier on the immersion stage.
Why didn’t yotube show this video to me before? This is such fun way of learning. I consider myself intermediate but even if you explain everything one by one it’s not boring at all and i learn new things
@@L.4utumn yeah for the North America region, they didn't include Chinese (or Korean) unfortunately, so the options are to buy from a different eShop (HK) or to import the Asia region (not JP) physical edition from somewhere like PlayAsia. Great video! I saw this game at the store here in Taiwan and am considering buying it - I’m wondering where you find game scripts and whether one exists for this game? I searched online but didn’t find anything, not sure if it doesn’t exist or maybe I just don’t know where to look
do you have to buy it in Japan to get the Japanese text version? I only see options for English, Spanish, Portuguese and German.... no option for Japanese text...

where i can find this app?
Please never stop with these videos. You‘re the best teacher and youtube channel for learning Japanese. This is incredible🥹🥲

I totally agree. There was no dip in quality and the video is still an hour long! Definitely think this new workflow is a better idea.
