I love the little moment where Schreck just looks at the severed hand he's holding. Not with disgust or horror, just looks at it like "What am I supposed to do with this?"
Fun fact before Danny DeVito was casted as the Penguin. Dustin Hoffman, Marlon Brando , Joe Pesci, John Candy, Rowan Atkinson, Christoper Lloyd and Bob Hoskins were considered for the part

Everytime i watch clips of this version of Penguin, anytime he grunts or makes similar sounds, he sounds like a bird squawking, which is most likely the intention.
Reminds me of Honest trailers when they called him, "... a mutant with a wide arsenal of umbrellas, and an even wider arsenal of disturbing little grunt noises."
He said in an interview that he has one condition: For Burton, Keaton, and Pfeiffer to come back too. On the meantime, he wrote an story about Penguin and Catwoman for an anthology comic.
Danny DeVito is a great actor. in this film he speaks using a tone of voice that is like a groan. a technique also used by Heath Ledger as the Joker, only he use a different tone of voice
Penguin: I've been down here for too long Max it is time for me...To ascend to reemerge! Me wanting the pandemic to end and to go out and hang out with my friends...
“I want to find out who I am, by finding my parents, learning my human name, simple stuff that the good people of Gotham take for granted.” A villain who has a understandable goal.
He knows who his parents are. He just wants access to the hall of records to learn the names of all the first born sons in Gotham. Batman suspects this almost immediately.
With all of his scenes combined, I'd say the Penguin was the first ever twitter puritan. - has alterior motives - blackmails others to get what he wants - fakes to get sympathy from others to distract from his actual plans and feelings - those with power stupidly try to give him power when he has no actual intentions of helping them - those with power who attempt to ally with him are thrown under the bus when everything sinks

The greatest part of this movie : it doesn't need lots of stunts. Everything relies on interaction. Action scenes have little to do in the movie. All we see is main villain plot slowly and splendidly unveiled, a hero mainly in the dark but doing his job silently to thwart evil and an anti hero driven by feline instincts yet incomplete as manipulated by villain plot. Really as efficient as deep. Nolan's was more on the action but not overdone by it as we could feel intensity. That's why Burton Dark's world matched Batman's : scary yet mesmerizing
