One of the most memorable of those episodes was “Christmas With the Joker” which was the official first performance of Mark Hamill as the Clown Prince of Crime.
Seeing these movies so many years later it’s funny the little stuff you notice. Like suddenly how Max Schreck was unfazed that he was holding a dead guy’s severed hand.
I’m not sure what the third film would’ve been titled if Burton remained as director and Keaton returned as Batman. I think it would’ve been either “Batman Continues” or “Batman Descends.”
Either way, Burton was also planning to use both Two-Face (Billy Dee Williams) and Riddler (Robin Williams). He also wanted Marlon Wayans as a new character who eventually becomes Robin.
The basic concept was recently adapted into the DC Comics miniseries “Batman ‘89” which was written by the co-writer of the first two Batman films, Sam Hamm.
You can blame McDonalds. They went all in on the merchandising... expecting campy-fun Batman... instead they got, creepy Penguin, sexual assault, murder, and Tim Burton. They made a big stink with Warner Brothers and they scrapped the 3rd film.
I love how when Walken shakes Fred's hand he doesn't freakout and throw it away. That joke would be done in any other movie, but Walken just looks down and internalizes the bizarre situation and just decides to go with it.
Walken's lack of reaction is a testament to the accusation of him indeed being a monster. He's the one who had his business partner disposed of in the first place, and threw Selina Kyle through a window. A man like that isn't going to get squeamish when he sees the end result.

Man this version of the penguin was something else alright kinda mountrous in looks but had a long desire of wanting/knowing who he really was and where he come from!
SPOILERS! He already knew who he really was and where he came from (As Batman later says while observing him in the Hall of Records, "I think he knows who his parents are; There's something else."). Claiming to want to learn his identity and be reunited with his parents was just a ruse he came up with to trick Schreck and the other Gothamites so they wouldn't get suspicious as to why he was poring over the Birth Certificates, when in fact he was doing it to identify the first- born sons of Gotham City as part of his plan to eventually kidnap and kill them.
@@Adamguy2003For a moment he seems to abandon the plan when he started to campaign to be mayor, so there is still some legit temptation to be recognized and respected as a man, not a monster. Of course, once Batman degeats him he angrily goes back to his initial plan.
