Some things get outdated like the old phones, the abusive almighty chief able to kill somebody and convincing the police it wasn't him (how unrealistic is that, at least nowadays) and the submissive character of women that was still a thing in the early 90s. But you're right, putting it in context, this movie rocks!
@@TR4R "(how unrealistic is that, at least nowadays)" The IDF has conducted an open genocide for the past year, in front of everyone, in broad daylight, in front of all major social media, they have gotten away with it, and nobody has done anything, you included, yet you think a bad guy getting away with a kill in a movie is somehow questionable?????
Michelle nailed all three personalities of the character. Selina before being Catwoman, Selina not in costume, and Catwoman. Anne was just okay in the role and she never became Catwoman like Michelle did.
Two very different versions of Catwoman. Anne’s version is a burglar who dressed up as a cat to steal things, she has no traumatic experiences, she’s just a smart criminal.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ But I like Michelle's version so much more because the trauma she suffered forced the change in her, made her immensely more confident in herself, even if in a eerie way. Just maybe her and Bruce Wayne would not have showed an interest in each, at least not a lasting one, if it not happened. And like in many traumatic events, there's usually a asshole catalyst responsible.
It's bc the script, christopher didn't write about Selina's character, I don't even understand why she ends up with bruce in that movie, they had no chemistry
Michelle destroys Anne Hathaway's performance as Selina BEFORE her Catwoman transformation. There's no comparison afterward. "What did...curiosity do...to the CAT?"
Anne's Selina/Cat had no chance, she wasn't written with an ounce of sympathy or humanity. She's a slutty criminal of a sociopath who happens to dress up as a Cat who turns face for greedy reasons at the end. Anne looked her best in the movie but honestly that's all she brought to it. Michelle meanwhile took an underwritten character and made it the first real deep mental dive into a comic villain in all of film. Yet even then she didn't have nowhere near the time she deserved to explore it more. Tragic.
I think the awnings she fell through cushioned her fall. So by the time she landed on the ground she was only unconscious and the kittens helped her regain consciousness by licking and chewing on her fingertips.
Shreck had a plan to build a sizable "power plant" for Gotham City, but in fact it was a device for stealing power from the city so he could hoard it/sell it back to the citizens at outrageous prices, & Selina found all this out by sneaking into the protected files, so he bumped her off so she wouldn't squeal to the authorities.
The most unrealistic thing about a movie where a guy dresses up as a bat and another guy gets raised by a bunch of penguins - someone who looks like Michelle Pfeiffer is supposed to be some dateless loser.
It’s not much the fact that Selina is a loser in the movie but mostly the fact that she was mistreated by Max Shreck, he is the one who cause her transformation.
He’s a hypocrite, he’s a con artist, and he’s a sociopathic killer, Max is a corrupt CEO that only thinks about himself and about his business, he also does anything even killing to keep his secrets from the public
3:56 “How can you be so mean to someone so meaningless?” I don’t know why I find that line so heartbreakingly memorable...
I dunno if it is for pride, but here in my country I can't imagine someone saying that, even the "meaningless"...
That's Capitalism for you guys. They put money before human being. Meaningful human beings.
This movie will never get old.

This movie is a masterpiece.
That complet intimidation scene and Selina's fall... brillant!
3:07 - Love the "Cat Ears" shadow on her face from the glasses. Good touch.
That was by pure accident too but Tim loved it so much, he kept it in the film 😊

Michelle Pfeiffer is the most grogeous woman on Batman returns I love her style and everything else she is a grogeous thespian I love her roles.
This may be the best sequence in all of Tim Burton's movies.
Michelle nailed all three personalities of the character. Selina before being Catwoman, Selina not in costume, and Catwoman. Anne was just okay in the role and she never became Catwoman like Michelle did.
I think Camren from Gotham did a good job.

Zoe kravitz was fire

I always feel a sudden race of fear when he mentions killing her. This movie is great at setting an atmosphere.
I have a feeling throughout the movie Max was pulling strings, even putting The Penguin and Catwoman Against Batman and themselves for his own gain
Shrek the Ogre is confronted by Catwoman.
1:40 Miss Kitty still minding her own business
4:43 Too much foley drowned out the scream.
I remember the first time I saw this, I got the biggest scare when he pushed her out the window

Are we going to see something like this in the DCEU Batman movie?
Probably not. DCEU doesnt have a lot of talented people.
Michelle Pfeiffer is perfection
Always felt after she was brought back to life she was being parasitically controlled by her felines. Scary if u think about it
Não morreu e voltou como mulher gato maldosa....
Erase that stuff, Selena!!!
And when he fires her at the end of the movie 😂😂😂

Will someone please explain to me why Max tried to kill Selena. What did she know about?
Shreck had a plan to build a sizable "power plant" for Gotham City, but in fact it was a device for stealing power from the city so he could hoard it/sell it back to the citizens at outrageous prices, & Selina found all this out by sneaking into the protected files, so he bumped her off so she wouldn't squeal to the authorities.
