expectations for myself. I just exist and that is okay. (watch this video almost every night and it has helped me with anxiety disorder more than i can say. thank you)
For almost the last 10 years, since I was a child, I've had severe anxiety. It's uncommon for me to get more than a few hours sleep a night, I have chronic pain from holding so much tension, and I have constant intrusive thoughts, and many panic attacks. I often have to take sedatives to even begin to relax my body. I thought I'd try this tonight and I cried mid way through because I could feel the tension leaving my body. I didn't think once about any of my worries, my fears, my 'failures' during the day. It is bliss to have even 20 minutes without them. This was perfect. Thank you.
Sweet angel, I hope you are doing this every day then. Remember your brain is flexible and you are changing the way it functions by sending it new messages. Look how powerful and courageous you are! Gandhi said, "Be the Change" and love yourself for being exactly that. Cry it out knowing it's also all the toxins leaving your system and not always your emotions driving the bus. Sob it out of the new you and send it on its way! Always remember there are souls out here who support you and love you unconditionally, for we are all connected in the fabric of life. Sleep well. 🙏
While massaging my feet, I started thinking of where my feet had taken me the last 29 years. I couldn’t help but cry. It was such an intimate moment with myself. Thank you
I myself can relate to the intimate and emotional area, completely. I thought I was a bit strange but this is the first time I am taking the time out for ME and loving myself. Through Yoga and Tai Chi both bring me to tears. Great job in Loving yourself ladies!
Same I cried as well I feel like I'm healing with this video. I never feel relieved and relaxed and calm these days but so am I except I'm sobbing. I feel like I'm good person no matter what my parents said to me.
It has been almost 30 days that I have been following this routine. I started following it with the first 30 days challenge. When I first started practicing this video I struggled quite a bit. I'm a bigger girl than average so some poses can be harder for me. For example my nose can not touch my knee because of some... fat... in the way. However, I have made it my goal to get both hands to the bottom of my foot during that pose. And today was the day. I've been coming close these past few days but today I actually held it for a while. It stretched he side of my lower back a lot! But felt good! I think this video will forever stay in my daily routine ❤❤
@@chopper1lady Sometimes it's not about flex though but actual, stuff in the way... I'm a bigger girl too and there are several poses that can't happen due to belly and breasts just, being there. Keep it up Sophie! I do an in person class once a week locally for Yoga Meditation but have loved Adriene's videos for years. Hoping to get to this one more regularly :-)
Sophie M go girl!!! Very inspiring! I say, it doesn’t matter what our body types are with persistence and determination you can do thing if you put your mind to it!
i know that this video is old, but this has become part of my nightly routine. i don’t think i’ve ever felt more connected to my body and peace like this ever before. thank you, Adriene. ❤️
If you are looking for newer poses and different kind of yoga experience then you might want to try few sessions from @funityfit , hope that will help you as well. Thanks.
My daughter and I do yoga together and tonight she was like " mama I'm gonna do what feels comfy" her little interpretation of your mantra. Thought you'd love that. Namaste 🙏🏻
@@davinarobertson47 Namaste is the common greeting in yoga. It is a gesture to send a message of peaceful spirituality to the universe in the hopes of receiving a positive message back. Most say namaste as a means to thank the teacher or use as an expression of relief upon the ending of the class.
To my friends in the comment section: I wish you all the best today, tonight, tomorrow, and every day. I notice a lot of us feeling emotional during this practice, and I want you to know that everyone here is in your corner and rooting for you. You'll get through whatever you're going through, and I'm proud of you.
Thank you - today I was released from my oncologist - 5 years since my bc diagnosis- thank you for this peaceful practice to end a celebratory/emotional day full of gratitude 🙏🏼
I am astonished that 20 minutes could go so quickly. I feel utterly serene now. I went to look at the news app on my phone after this (which is my routine) but stopped myself and turned it off; it would certainly spoil the calmness circulating through me. Thank you.
After doing these practices before bed, i don’t even bother with my phone anymore. I used to go straight to bed and play on my phone for about 30-40 minutes then try to sleep, but not anymore
I'm 59 and I've been Bodybuilding since the age of 12. The gyms here in Germany have been closed since Nov 2nd and that's the same day I discovered/started Yoga with Adriene. I like her a lot. I really like how she incorporates humor into the practice and allows for individualism as you're going along. I should point out that I'm an American living in Germany and I came here from Austin, Texas, so being able to have a fellow Texan as an instructor is very cool. I plan to continue Yoga when the gyms re-open to see how Bodybuilding and Yoga will work together. I'm hoping it will be like when I combined Bodybuilding with Martial Arts. Thank you Adriene for being such a good Yoga instructor.
@@thrashgoblin9926 Hello Val, it's nice to know someone is interested in how this is going for me. Thank you. The gyms here reopened on the 21st of May, but I was delayed in getting back to training because of a minor hand surgery I needed on both hands. But after starting back with my training, I have to say that the combo is really good. I do Yoga before I go to the gym as a warm up, then do my usual warm up in the gym for the body part I'm training that day, and it has proven to work very well for me. Especially the day 4 Yoga for your back. I was having a lot of tightness in my lower back and this one has helped a great deal. So it's a combo I would highly recommend to anyone who is weight training. Where were you in Texas?
This video got me through some rough times back in 2018. The soft music, and Adriene's voice is soothing. I'm back again, needing her voice and this practice. I'm grateful to have it.
I started this video over a year ago when I couldn't sleep while traveling with work. What's great is I can FaceTime my 10 year old daughter and she can also watch it on UA-cam. So we do bedtime yoga together even when I'm out of town! Great out of town night time ritual and I sleep like s champ.
Umhey, 27, almost 28 year old, and since Saturday, you have already helped my realign my jaw bc of a tensed up muscled that just snapped back into place, I'm working out an ENORMOUS knot in my shoulder, and I don't think I have ever felt this good in my entire life. THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK. I OWE you for bringing me out of the sciatica and tensed up post partum depression I fell into. And not to mention you helped my face. Which I'm confident will rid me of my migraines I've had since I was a child. THANK YOU. I may be new to the family, but Namaste, Adriene. 💛 You have literally saved my life, and I will never leave this practice.💛🧘♀️
just had my final breast cancer reconstruction...got released to do yoga yesterday and tonight I did your bedtime 20 min yoga...thank you so much...it was a great sequence to restart me...subscribed! Namaste
My husband and I have been doing this yoga session before bed for the past month. We feel so great. We both really enjoy your voice and the easy flow from pose to pose. We also start our day with one of your morning yoga videos. We think you are a great teacher. Thank you very much
NeQuesha Fraley check out here playlists. It's a practice a day for 30 days. It took me longer than 30 days to finish it, but it was worth it. It's great for beginners and I was able to move my body in ways I never thought possible.
I've been pretty down this whole week and just couldn't get myself to come to the mat, although I knew, it would've been good to move a bit. Today I finally made it and when I clicked on the video and heard her voice, I realized how much I missed her and how needed this was. I'll try to be consistent from now on, but I think I can be a bit proud of myself for making it today, right?
I just came to the mat for the same reason. We get so disconnected through life but it’s like getting on a bicycle-you never forget and you are reminded of the joy instantly once you begin again 🙏
Thank you, Adriene. Your lessons heal. While you were talking there was one thing I kept listening to... "Don't mind about deserving it or not. You can give this much love to yourself, you can, do so, feel it." thank you, Adriene, thank you!
Being a nigh shift nurse my sleeping schedule doesn’t make any sense, so I tired doing this at 4am. I have to say I haven’t felt this relaxed in a long time! Thank you for your upload :)
Today was rough...like worst day of the year so far. And i decided I might do some yoga to help me relax and let go of the stress for the day and this was just the first bedtime yoga video I found so i clicked it. All I can say is thank you. I want to start crying because you talked about breathing in love and now I definitely feel ready to fall asleep and make tomorrow a better day
Hi, love! I may not know who you are, but I do know that you're so loved. Even by me, for what it's worth. Whatever it was you were going through when you made this comment a year ago, I'm cheering you on. I know you've made it through - and I'm so proud of you. It will all be okay
Joy and woe are woven fine. I remind myself of this on days like the one you have had. I have had more than one. Be consoled. Yoga is so helpful letting go of heartbreak and body ache. You are not alone. We are all here as one. Seekers. Carry on forgiving first your self.
I have done this video so many times of the years and keep coming back to it because it feels like such a caring beautiful thing to do for myself. Thank you Adrienne!
Even though this is a bedtime sequence, I found this a lovely way to start my day 27 of Refresh April 2022. Yet another one to bookmark. Thank you for these gifts Adriene. 🙏🏻
This video is where I come when I need to be gentle on myself. I have come back to it time and time again. Thank you Adriene for everything you put out into the world.
I remember when this video came out. I was working on the Alaskan Oil Fields and I did this almost every night to relax. 8 years later, it is still my favorite video of yours. Thank you Adriene. :)
BEGIN 🌱 | August 28, 2022 | Such an incredibly yummy practice, I did this in the early afternoon again, not at bedtime, but it will set the tone of my afternoon for sure. It's a rainy day today so I did this with the window open and the sound of soft rain in the background which made it even more relaxing. 🙏
+George and Molly Well, to be honest I stopped doing yoga like a month ago. But I still believe it's amazing exercise, now I just sometimes practice stretching and of course meditation every day. I can recommend it to you. Have a beautiful day!
Ondra Hrdý same here. I just started a week ago. I try to do it once a day. I'm shaky on some moves but I can't wait to be more balanced. Yoga is so relaxing. I have fell in love with it.
It maybe took 8 years for this video to find me, but I know that it was waiting for the right moment. Today, I felt a bit shaken by a few bad feelings, and before going to sleep, I won the fight against doing nothing. This video helped me a lot, I felt so connected to my younger self and so relieved. Thank you to everyone in the comments and to you for making this video. I am grateful for being able to experience so many positive emotions♡
Adriene: I was diagnosed with Covid-19 one year ago today and was hospitalized as the result. My 2 month recovery entailed discovering Yoga, or perhaps Yoga discovered me. In any case, your channel now guides my practice come morning and evening, and I just wanted to send you a huge Thank You for all that you do for so many if us.
Thank you so much for this video! This and lavender oil totally saved me last night w a big anxiety attack. I actually had to do it twice. But I was able to fall fast asleep after this. Before, my body was shaking. Things like this can make a huge difference!
I've struggled with sleeping since I was 10 years old. I suffer from severe anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia, so me getting an adequate night of sleep just isn't something that happens very often. I had started doing yoga and stumbled across this video and it has literally changed my life. Thank you so much.
forward gg Hey! It’s going so well. I’ve been diagnosed with restless leg, sleep apnea, and depression. I also continue to suffer from severe tics due to anxiety and insomnia. Everytime I do this I fall asleep so much more easily. This really really helps.
This has been my night-time routine for 4 weeks now. Thanks for this video. It’s really helped me get ready for sleep as I’ve been struggling with anxiety lately. Your voice and the background music is very relaxing. And I feel more nimble after this exercise
Aug 28, 2022 04:52 Intention : begin to surrender Everything is as it should be practicing this sequence twice today so that I could feel more relaxed this weekend. Thank you Adriene See you tomorrow beautiful souls Namaste 🙏🏼
Thank you so much!! You have done what a life time of struggling, alcohol and drug abuse, prescription drugs and many failed attempts on trying to feel centred and okay in my mind… you pretty much saved my life with just being u and sharing it with the world I thank you in the most real way ♥️
For anyone who's doing this early in the morning as part of "Renew", if you want to wake up a little more after this practice (it's just sooo relaxing), I added a minute of Adriene's Knockin' on Heaven's Door after this practice and it's like an espresso shot of wake up fun 😃
lovely idea!!!! I was like "adriene, whyyy the multiple bed time videos? don't you know i do this in the morning?!" lol. Im half considering doing some of these at night just for the switch up, since adriene knows best, but today that's just not an option so heavens door is a great compromise!
So tender, so precious. I love the music at the background and the decent amount of time you give to each pose. Feeling so relaxed and ready to sleep now. Big thanks! Blessings to everyone ❤
Apr 27, 2022 05:42 Intention : have a goodnight sleep Sometimes we need to have a simple goal of having a goodnight sleep and really achieve it, a perfect way to heal, restore, and refresh us. Although I did this sequence as I start my day, I come back to this type of session when I feel restless after a long day and it is surely deliver me to a goodnight sleep, no sleeping pills can compare to a bedtime practice, and I am thankful for discovering this to myself. Wishing you all a good night sleep rest well everyone Thank you Adriene Namaste 🙏🏼
Love the bedtime yoga videos! For someone who deals with major anxiety, especially at night time, these videos are such a good resource to help wind down before bed. Bedtime yoga has become one of my favorite parts of my nighttime routine, and I look forward to it every day! ❤
I must have done this yoga a hundred times. It is such a great way to end the day, for a while I didn't need the video 😅 Now as I am recovering from whooping cough, I am so glad that I have yoga to help me slowly become active again. It's a bit of a long road, so I am so glad for this, Adriene. Thank you!
Anyone else crying, because of how hard we are working and doing our best even forgetting to take care of our bodies because we are still feeling useless even though we are working really hard ?
This is the first "exercise" or non walking intentional movement I've done postpartum. (7 weeks) I was so surprised at the tension I felt in my body with such simple poses! I feel so much better now. I'm feeling pretty tender about my body lately and I know that Adrienne is someone I can trust with those feelings. I love the messages of body love and respect and care. I needed that today and I think I'm going to use this channel for most of my movement ventures for a good while
I've been doing this yoga routine for a week now and immediately I can tell you, my sleep has gotten much better, my temper and my mind is more relaxed. Overall, I recommend this yoga routine for anyone who has a hard time falling asleep and need some relax time.
I come back tonthis practice regularly and I love it. When I started yoga with you a few years ago I used to cry almost everytime even during the less emotional practices. I dont cry as much now when doing yoga , but I realise its because Im so much more connected to my emotion, I allow myself to feel them torought the day and they dont build. Thank you so much for teaching me how important it is to create space for all my emotions and feelings. I dont know if its possible, but i would love a nightime video filmed at night, maybe with candle or some soft dimed light
letting go of good moments (instead of trying to cling on) letting go of bad moments (instead of ruminating ) mindful peaceful refresh joyful connnect Thank YOU Adriene/ YWA team and community - Namaste to all practising
oh my god. this was my first yoga with adriene video. To my SHOCK, when you had us massaging our feet, I got up and got my oil and then all of sudden you said "maybe you start to bring oils into the mix" and i was like :O. and THEN you were like "a little lavender oil on the feet" and i SHRIEKED because my oil is a lavender oil!!!! such a sign. SUBSCRIBED!
I watch your vids everyday and I've noticed this 1.wieght loss witch is very good 2.ansiaty levels down 3.depression levels down 4.that I love you so much because of all of this ♥️♥️♥️
@@aalexjohna why dont you stop being an ignorant person yourself and realise this is a video to help people. Not insult people. If you have nothing else to say instead of being rude then go somewhere else
This is one of my all time favorite sessions. Unfortunately I’ve not been able to do yoga for a few months and now that I am able again… it just had to be this one. It felt like coming home. It meant the world. Namaste❤
So relaxing. Even got in some poses, like shoulder stand, plow and fish, that I had not done in quite some time. Enjoy friends! Renew day 11. 189 days in a row.
Hey William, I have been having fun following along with your journey to the point where I come to look for your comments after each video to see how you found the practice! Congratulations on your progress and thank you for your constant kind and motivating words. See you in the comments section of tomorrows video ;)
Im 20 years old and in my second year of doing my bachelor's. I was studying all day today and was so tired cause I have finals in a few days. This felt so amazing before bed ❤❤ thank you so much for the thoughtful yoga videos Adrienne. They help us out so much!
Adriene is the one whose friendly, not without humour, very understandable workouts made me a yoga fun! And she is so charming, so friendly and so calming, She makes me always feel better, happier, mor self relient, Thanks a lot! and the best to all of users from Tatiana Manukovskaya, Russia
same here. but I think it's not only that. Adriene has a special way of communicating with us on a deeper level, like right to the soul and right to the body...not only verbally. it kind of amazes me how this can be possible even through a video. she glows and sends so much love and peace. :)
Forgot how precious Yoga with Adriene is. Here I am after 2 years from my last yoga (I started when I was pregnant, now I have a 2 years old toddler with me). My life has been going up and down but here I am grounding again. Thank you.
I struggle with stress and anxiety. Your videos make me feel genuinely calm. I have never naturally felt truly calm or at peace within myself. I thought I knew what feeling calm meant, but these videos taught me what it really means. Thank you so much for sharing these videos with us!
This was one of the best yoga sessions I've had in a long time, I didn't realize how much stress I was holding in my body for so long... Thank you Adrienne for helping me truly feel at peace and relaxed
Blessed Beloved Beauties! Refresh Yoga 🧘🏾♀️ Day - 27 is truly deep relaxation. I am so sleepy. I should have completed this practice at night. I'm going to do a quick meditation and hopefully, I'll feel rested for my work Zoom this afternoon. Namaste and Ase! 🦋❤🦋
I felt so much relaxed and totally in entire different world. This is I first time feeling different when I doing yoga. Thank you so much ☺️ good night, the world.😘 🌃
I started crying ten minutes after this, uncontrollably. Am I the only one? It definitely unleashed something I was holding onto that was causing me so much pain.
I'm just watching the video, not doing it, and I'm all teary. I think it's that she is speaking with such gentle loving kindness and compassion and many of us are never spoken to in that way. She is also giving inviting us to be kind to ourselves, letting go of sadness and pain. At least that's how I'm feeling.
From a spiritual point of view, unprocessed emotional energy is stored in our organs, muscles, and tissues. If you are not physically active, this can lead to inflammation and chronic health problems. However, when you get your body moving, it releases the residual emotional energy and tension. It is not that uncommon to have all sorts of emotions pouring out of you while doing yoga. It's like a plug is being pulled and everything that keeps you stuck is being released. It's a freeing feeling. It's one of the reasons why you feel so good after a workout (doesn't have to be yoga).
I have a sleep disorder called Restless Leg Syndrome, and this video has been a huge help in getting me to fall asleep at night. I watch it every night before bed and have been sleeping with no trouble for the past couple weeks now.
+KatieOrrett I have RLS aswell! thankfully mines not too extreme at the moment though, ive never had trouble getting to sleep because of it. sorry for rambling , just never heard of anybody besides family members who have it haha !
+KatieOrrett I have Parkinson's Disease and sometimes get very painful cramps in my legs when I am asleep. Since i have been doing the gentle yoga morning and evening, this has not happened. Thank you Adriene!!
Have you ever thought about doing a sequence for while you're in bed. Like for when you're in too much pain with too much fatigue to get on the mat, when all you want to do is fall asleep, but you're hurting too much? Mostly for folks with chronic pain. I've seen that other yoga UA-camrs have made similar videos, but I honestly can't follow anyone but you. lol. Just an idea! :)
I’m going through a break up at the moment and this helped me to release all of my emotions while still calming and relaxing me. Adriene you are an angel. Thank you.
This video literally saved my life, my sleep was out of wack for months, sleeping meds did not help, OTC gave me a groggy kind of feeling everytime I took it, I was crying out for sleep every nite after a 14 hr shift...after watching ur video last nite i slept like a baby...thank u soooooooh much
this is such a wonderful and restorative practice.. i have debilitating anxiety and recently got off of dangerous prescriptions so now I am feeling everything extra. this practice helps me relax soooo much! if my heart is racing and i'm nauseous and i'm a spiral of negative thoughts and generally feeling awful, i feel confident now that if i give my body and mind a little bit of the attention it deserves, i am capable of feeling better. bless u angel adriene!!!!
Feb 2024, I've been sick for 4 months now. It's been an interesting journey of coming back to the Self. Part of it has been to have a healing soft routine. Aaaand part of this routine is my bedtime with you and Benji! I love it. Thank you. Buenas noches 🥰
Followed you for so long on UA-cam you more than earned my enrollment in “What Feels Good” was having coffee with an old friend. And her husband has been bragging that he works out with you every day. My niece in Vienna, Austria does the same. Thank you for believing in us and prompting us to believe in ourselves
My daughter told me about your wonderful yoga classes, even though she lives far away, I feel like I am doing them with her. I feel so relaxed and healthier with your classes Thank you so much. ❤️
I didn't want to do any yoga today, so I forced myself to do day 12 of the 30 day challenge and now some relaxing bedtime yoga before dinner, so proud of myself
I love yoga but i would have never thought about doing it before bed . I have a hard time sleeping so this was perfect. I just start tonight and it felt so amazing.
I have a heart condition and i have a very stressful job i work 12 hours a day 5-6 days a week and i have a very hard time falling asleep and even if i get a "goodnight sleep" i still feel very uncomfortable the next morning but THIS....omg this is pretty incredible i feel so relaxed after the whole day, after yoga i have a cup of my herbal tea and i sleep like a baby. Thank you for this and i am 1000% sure i will be back everyday for a little "me" time.
This practice was so intimate for me. I realised that it has been so long since someone wished me a good night/ good rest. This practice allowed me to open myself up to that loneliness, acknowledge it and breathe (and cry a bit). Thank you.
This brought me to the verge of tears. I recently lost my father right before my freshman year of high school, aka this year, and I haven’t felt this close since he died. You brought so much relaxation and healing to me by teaching me how to treat my body with love and kindness. Thank you so much. I hope you know how much you impact peoples lives
I love hearing your soothing voice, that helps calm me down, release stressful thinking and headache almost the time. i've been doing yoga for two weeks every night now and yours is my fave by far, been doing it every night for a week now....im obsessed. I seriously look forward to it

I don't know why but your profile pic makes this comment kind of hilarious
@@Danger_Kitten_30-06 lmao you are so right
@@Danger_Kitten_30-06 That's absolutely hilarious! But now I'm awake again : |
Hard same.
I am astonished that 20 minutes could go so quickly. I feel utterly serene now. I went to look at the news app on my phone after this (which is my routine) but stopped myself and turned it off; it would certainly spoil the calmness circulating through me. Thank you.
I make that same mistake
After doing these practices before bed, i don’t even bother with my phone anymore. I used to go straight to bed and play on my phone for about 30-40 minutes then try to sleep, but not anymore
Mmmm self care
Wise move.

I would love a follow up story on how this is going for you. I lived in TX for a while, loved the gyms down there.
@@Scorch918 I bet it's comforting to have a little bit of home in your yoga routine! I'm in Oklahoma!
@@ndnaf3705 Yes it is, especially now with all the craziness going on.
I’m glad it’s working for you too.
I use light weights and yoga to stretch and I’m loving the combination.

Ooh! Is the 30 day challenge here on Adriene's channel?!? I just subscribed and I'm already in love!!
Awesome! Thanks!
Will the 30day challenge help you lose weight?
Hi, wht is the 30day challenge?
NeQuesha Fraley check out here playlists. It's a practice a day for 30 days. It took me longer than 30 days to finish it, but it was worth it. It's great for beginners and I was able to move my body in ways I never thought possible.
I've been pretty down this whole week and just couldn't get myself to come to the mat, although I knew, it would've been good to move a bit. Today I finally made it and when I clicked on the video and heard her voice, I realized how much I missed her and how needed this was. I'll try to be consistent from now on, but I think I can be a bit proud of myself for making it today, right?
You sure can! 💖✋🙏
This video brought me back from 2 months of stray after covid : )
You can! Keep it up❤️ You got this!
Incredible, you should be so proud of yourself :) x

It maybe took 8 years for this video to find me, but I know that it was waiting for the right moment. Thank you to everyone in the comments and to you for making this video. I am grateful for being able to experience so many positive emotions♡

For anyone who's doing this early in the morning as part of "Renew", if you want to wake up a little more after this practice (it's just sooo relaxing), I added a minute of Adriene's Knockin' on Heaven's Door after this practice and it's like an espresso shot of wake up fun 😃

This remains a favorite practice ❤

I'm just watching the video, not doing it, and I'm all teary. I think it's that she is speaking with such gentle loving kindness and compassion and many of us are never spoken to in that way.
Oh the early days, never gets old. Thank you Adriene ♥️
That went by so fast! That was beautiful 🐱💕💖🫂
