Idk why I always get choked up watching athletes win races. Something about watching people succeed when they've worked hard at something really gets me. Congrats, ladies!
@@nnenne4 but that's the exact problem with athletics. How can someone know who an athlete is for sponsors and a team if their name and face arent used regularly? That's the conundrum we have. I'd rather "spoil" it
@@branching123 I think if you put it in the videos description but not blasted in the title that could make it more mysterious for those who want to watch the race without it being spoiled but then anyone who wants to see the athletes can see the athletes in the description.
It was so wonderful to see Katelyn Tuohy out there. 24th best in the entire nation as a freshman and an All American and on that course and coming off a terrible injury and surgery is not bad. She will win this race before she is through. A lot of these girls she raced when they were HS seniors and she was winning HS nationals as a sophomore and would crush them. But Katelyn Tuohy is Back and that's a great thing for sports :)
Well done BYU!! Woohoo, go Cougs! Excellent racing by all, great to have this up so quickly. Love BYU, my Alma Mater, from the land down under, Australia, of course.
I cannot exaggerate just how much I admire and appreciate every one of these girls, from first place to last, and their trainers and eveyone involved. The spectators, too, make this a great colourful spectacle.
The decision to have this event so close after indoor nationals was simply not a good thing. Some big names competed very hard in Fayetteville this past weekend. Anyway, very nice job with the filming of this.
i come from a small town in Maine so to see someone i went to school with at a time running D1 with success is rare and amazing. Great work Hannah Steelman.
I did not not think Tuohy would run given her injury and that she had not run an XC race since 2019, but then I was watching the broadcast and there she was near the front and running aggressively. Only freshman on the women's side to AA. In the NCAA women's XC tends to skew older, with runners in their 20s tending to win. But Tuohy is going to have a real shot to win it all in the next few years.
I love the cougars @ Utah and always had an excellent relation with this school. This made my year and day as these ladies worked so hard. I have a friend from BYU Doug Padilla a two-time Olympian in the 5,000 meters and four time NCAA Champion. These schools always seem to pull out the right stuff with their coaches and facilitates. Their program is top tier.
At least Touhy finished first of the freshmen. Wonder if she is happy with her performance. Heard she underwent surgery. Hope it wasn't knee or back. I've had both.
Ran a smart race especially at the end. Don’t need to fly down the last 200 meters to the finish line and injure something. Proof she did it right: few weeks later, matched her 2018 1500m PB. Go girl go!
Yea Dudek had a foot injury early but still finished. She was my pick to win it all. Unlike tuohy she has been racing not resting and usually coming in the yer top 4 in every race. But she got injured at the wrong time. Hopefully her foot will heal fast.
The paramedics on duty this day were for the parents running through those fields. The video feed transitions were annoying. What happened to Orlon? Hope she's ok.
Steelman has got so much potential, leg power in the gym would help she's a tall girl. Needs stride power, would love to coach a girl with that much talent. Was impressed that she fought it out after being dropped a little, top running.
Primera vez que veo a K. Tuohy correr y llegar en tan mal estado, quizás estaba cansada, sobre o poco entrenada, de todos modos ha sido una linda competencia. Saludos desde Temuco Chile.
If we're naming names then let me give a call out to Kelsey Chmiel (9th) whom I believe will now be in her second year, and clearly building on her repeated success in NXN. I don't know all of the ladies' ages and apologies to all those I have missed! From the names that I do know I predict fireworks this year from Zophia, Kelsey, and Katelyn T.
what's up with these girls being dragged off from the finish line? They can't stay up? I've never seen that; we were always trained to not drop dead on the finish line like that!
This is NCAA you don’t know how to run your drone how come you did so much better on the men’s and the women’s you were practicing just with the women 🥴pathetic

Unreal that this got posted this quickly keep it up
Thanks
Flotrack would have uploaded it in 2024
2020* It’s odd they listed it that way since it’s really 2021.
@@redrose41000 No because it's the postponed championship for the 2020 year. The real 2021 championship will be this fall.
better than flo track posting 3 years later
Thank you NCAA UA-cam for not spoiling the race in the video title or thumbnail.
Ikr, I hate when they show the winner in the thumbnail

1st freshman finisher.
Good job Katelyn for being first freshman who placed! (25th)
24th
She was fitter in HS. Still #24 is an excellent result, can't wait to se her future carrier
@@Chasstful pretty sure she's coming back from like a knee surgery or something like that
take that flotrack
they got a drone now they really stepping up their coverage I'm so happy
Great 1-2 punch for Alabama--BYU's depth really paid off today!
Well done BYU!! Woohoo, go Cougs! Excellent racing by all, great to have this up so quickly. Love BYU, my Alma Mater, from the land down under, Australia, of course.
that last hill a really destroys a lot of people you can see all the people limping at the end of the race before the finish line
I counted at least 5 runners who dropped over 100 spots in last K

absolute devastation on the finishing stretch. never seen anything like that at this level of running

wow the course was a killer
Taylor Roe!!!! Congrats!!!!
Thanks for not spoiling in the title
I'm so surprised to see this posted!! Nice!
The carnage at the finish line😂
Diljeet Taylor
Love me some Cougar wins. Congratulations!!!
So flippin awesome Anna Camp Bennett!!
Go BYU!!!!
Thank you guys so much for this. No longer will I have to rip and post championship races 😂
Awesome ladies great job 👏
Good Job Indoor & outdoor BYU
bro its 2021 and the cameras are still this bad? thanks for both races tho
Miro estas competencias en EEUU y veo que en Sudamérica éstas no se hacen y estamos a años luz en todo tipo de deportes. Saludos desde Temuco Chile.
Nice run Taylor Roe...from local area WA

@katelyn tuohy updates Then her job was extra sweet! Thanks for the update.
@katelyn tuohy updates Keep up the great work! Thousands of us around the states are pulling for you.
The Byu group is the most funny in the race!

It's weird seeing Tuohy in a race where she's not dominating the competition
is Donaghu ok? and Dudek for that matter? BYU impressive as usual. And coach taylor looking like a goth club bouncer.
Not sure about Donaghu, but I did see Dudek on crutches when they got their awards
@@gwynethyoung8090 Hope shes ok. Hearing rumors of a stress fracture... That would suck. She'd been running so well.

I’ve ran this course before and it just sucks so much. Hardest course ever
Wow Alabama girls went off
Awesome running 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Go cougs! Huge!!! NC State's 3rd faded and Alabama didn't have more depth, they would have both easily won as well, congrats to all involved :)
Came down to the 5th placed runners.
Diljeet is a Baller.

Not much shade on this course. 2021 was a lot better.

Terrible coverage. Green screens, cameras cutting out..just terrible. Yet the carnage at the finish line of the women's race was awesome!!
taryn o’neill is the GOAT
WEll good for her!
This was a brutal race. Look how many women collapsed in the homestretch or limped across the line before collapsing. I stopped counting at 5.
Maybe don’t spoil it with the thumbnail
Good point. Fixing.

Can't agree more with this comment 👏👍
Who were the broadcasters? I didn't see that mentioned.
Where was this race held?
the fans look as if they are on a cross country stage but the competitors seem to be running on a road track not a cross country venue.
Is this not a school event, why are there so many participants?
If she had a super great day I bet Ella Donaghu would've won this race
Oh No, Zofia Dudek was injured, she was my pick to win, oh well.😳😟😢
Maybe next year.
29th at 3.5K so far.

Way to go Katelyn Touhy.!!!!

At least one of them has a condition that causes her to faint at the end of every race. I saw an article about it recently.
This winning team coach is white. She is not Indian.
horrible video quality
I agree I can barely make out the jerseys much less the faces.
seeing them collapsing over the finish line breaks my heart. not healthy running
Katlyn best ever. Chalangati go fkoff
