I own both styles of cook sets. The 2 pot set is basically a self contained cooking system that I use for making more of a meal in rather than a water boiler. The 1 pot w/Lid is basically limited to being a single purpose water boiler/ or cup of soup pot. I like the smaller set for a day hike, park outing trips, etc., as it fits in a jacket pocket or sling bag. The larger set is very backpack friendly and is way more versatile for multi day cooking. Both are great for a quick cuppa anytime.

BTW, the key to making eggs in the 2 pot system is getting your water to a firm rolling boil in the bottom one... then a little oil in the smaller top to one... take it off of the stove and "steam" fry your eggs. The longer handles make it easier to do actual cooking in it and for eating from it. I've been camping, boating, backpacking, hiking for 50 years... and yes 👍, I do cooking in that 2 pot kit oftentimes.

Here is my take on the set-ups... I have a Tomshoo titanium ki,t like the Toaks that has worked great over the years. I also have the Amazon one that has been my go to (until I got the Trangia 28T Mini! Now, I have been solely using that with the Trangia Triangle an a gas burner for about 6 years). Reason being, I like having coffee WITH my breakfast, not AFTER my breakfast, so the "lid" (as you call it) is a great cup to have coffee in while I use the "pot" to eat my oatmeal or scrambled eggs, or whatever in. While we are on that topic of eggs in the camp kits... Yes, it can be done, I have done it for decades.... Just don't turn your camp stove up to "jet blast mode" (learn to "cook" on your stove rather than just boil water, it is a game changer. Yes, the extravagant meals they show in those pics are ridiculous, but you don't need to eat out of a bag full of chemically treated food either. You can "cook" some great stuff while hiking!
Either way, I think it was a great review! But I also feel you were missing afew points about the amazon product that you just can not duplicate with the other. But as you said, you are basically just boiling water. I have yet to see many trail "cooks" :)
I may have to subscribe to see what else you got 👍

Thanks for all the info and I'm happy you liked my video!
I looked up the products that you mentioned and those look like some quality items. I've never used an alcohol stove but I have always been interested in those. Having coffee with breakfast would be nice haha but usually I can get my breakfast cooked while my coffee is cooling down.
I've gotten in the habit of making my own dehydrated and vacuum sealed food so I can avoid chemically treated meals. That way I still have a pretty awesome breakfast and dinner while on the trail! And all i need is a cup of boiled water. However, I'm not opposed to try actually cooking on the trail. I just know I won't want to put lots of effort into cooking after hiking all day.
Thanks for watching and for your insight!

I have the same amazon pot. When I purchased it it came with a stove, which I still have and it's been going on strongly for over 6 years now, a set of silverware, a carrying bag, a large stainless coffee mug with silicone holder (which I don't use since it's overkill). in it I keep a solo stove mini, the stove, a fuel base, and a lighter. Since we can't fly with fuel we opt to carry it separately.
I though about upgrading to a toaks but im already used to extra weight it it doesn't bother me, plus this thing was fallen from all sorts of places and heights and it has 0 (ZERO!) dents.
Also, I think the volume is 1,200ml TOTAL, with pot plus lid.
It is so funny to see this review today, I just went through the same idea not even 1 month ago. And even with my 35% discount on the Toaks the price and material did not really seemed more beneficial to me...
    Great video.

Thanks for the insight! Those Amazon cook pots definitely hold up and are pretty indestructible lol. Like I said, I used mine for about 5 years. Over time, I realized I didn't need the large volume that is the Amazon pot so I figured it was time to try the TOAKS pot. I'm glad the Amazon one works well for you though! Thanks for watching my video

amazon gets a bad wrap on some of its products but you can find the occasional diamond in the rough on there.

I agree! Teton Sports is a brand of backpacking gear sold on Amazon. They are inexpensive products and fantastic for beginners on a budget!

Both to heavy buy a Toaks UL 550ml pot. It’s just 85g and enough for 99% of situations in the woods
