Will come back to this and look at it again... I too have found this aspect of 2024 frustrating... one major thing for me was how in 2020 the ease if using my hat switch to cycle through a planes default instrument views. It still does it but ONLY if I select an instrument view using my keyboard views assignment 1st arrrggghhh! But I guess it will all get there eventually. As a casual simmer with limited time I just want all aircraft to work the same out of the box... although I appreciate ornothopter helicopter Harrier and Osprey require some extra assignments 😂🙂 Thanks for the video.
I've got the X56 too and have the same issue on MSFS 2020 with the view stick drifting and eliminated that like you with the deadzone. It wasn't always like that and assumed it was my X56.
the choppers are unusable in flightsim 2024 now. It used to be the throttle up and down on my stick allowed you to gain or lose altitude. Now, because I don't really understand the terminology, I have no clue which one to assign to allow me to go up and down. All so irritating. Update: Asked Grok, it told me to change the collective axis to the stick control. Why did they change this.
thanks. deadzone tip invaluable. I have a Rhino 56 HOTAS as well but the sim does not see most switches on the stick. I want to map trims and walk around directions to the hats but the scan does not see them. Do yours work?
As of yesterdays update my stick rudder twist axis now turns the nose wheel hardly any degrees. Setting now in cloud and wont change... for the amount of fixes and bugs I cant believe they didnt fix many them b4 release.
@@theflyingdoctor Yep, thanx, pilot error... I had to select the tiller option as yes. Plus all the other issues I managed to fix as well. They double up on the defaults and reassigning them is the fix.
Question, soon as I taxi and start giving it some throttle it just turns off eventually. I don’t have too many keybinds yet and I don’t have certain buttons linked to the same thing.
sounds like a problem with the control options. Check out the profles on the left and see if anything has changed. You could even check whether the throttle is invested. That is possible - ie when you increase the throttle from minimum, you are actually decreasing it. Let me know how you get on. Check the throttle binding first and click on the throttle option on the right - hardware settings.
I have the same HOTAS, though I have no pre-assigned settings for either Throttle or Joystick. Worse, I CANNOT get the throttle to move in aircraft. When I scan and move the throttle left and right it correctly picks up Joystick LAXIS X & Y but no joy in the aircraft. Also, when I go into Hardware, there is no axis movement picked up from either the throttle or joystick. Throttle movement picked up fine in DCS. Anyone here have any ideas? What should the binding be for LAXIS X and Y? Thanks for your help.
Do you mean your 2020 config to 2024 - not sure, not tried it. I wonder if you can backup a 24 configuraton and then sopy and paste it back into a fresh installation. These might be helpful - %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_\LocalCache (Store version), %AppData%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\LocalCache (steam version). I think there is a file called InpurProfiles in the Local Cache folder and you could store that.
That sounds like a problem with the control options. Check out the profles on the left and see if anything has changed. You could even check whether the throttle is inverted. That is possible - ie when you increase the throttle from minimum, you are actually decreasing it. Let me know how you get on. Check the throttle binding first and click on the throttle option on the right - hardware settings.
just 2 things - I have the same 2 x56 controllers you have - as well as the alpha bravo pair. Because of your video of the 125 I just bought it -with 2024 in mind - and - as you did for the 145 - any chance you can give us a simple guide to the settings you use for the 125 - on either 2020 and or 2024? - and I notice that 2020 settings where it shows the controller - it also shows the numbering system - which is obviously helpful - but Asobo have not done that with the settings in 2024 which is a shame and unhelpful in the midst of all its other problems
So be aware that if you click F - and moved to Filters Assigned, for each profile, you can see what the sim has set up automatically. I just progam the collective and the cyclic plus one or two other things.
forums.flightsimulator.com/t/saitek-x56-binding-problem/562019 - numbers for buttons in FS20 - seem to mach here - on stick. Unfortunately, no map for the throttle but if you have FS20 you could fire that up and screengrab what if I rememebr rightly were the button labels. This is missing in 24.
Yeah the difference is literally massive and so so so hard to understand. 2020 was simple, easy to know what was changing what, and I’m on Xbox so keys are limited. 2024 takes that, and it’s now only understandable to astrophysics who have an IQ of 500. There are so many, and again being on Xbox you have massive differences in binding options. And I find it very difficult to know which is what, and what should be and is essential. For example In throttle there’s like 10 options, and an additional 10 with throttle to 10, throttle to 20, etc. Like…. Huh? Am I supposed to increase my hotas at 10 percent intervals and map them? That’s one of like 60, there are so so so many with controls that I think are the same or are just have no clue what is what. I’ve literally spent hours, yes hours, trying to make sense of it and bind and it always ends with me saying what?!!? Forget it, and I give up
I applaud your patience and nerves. Peace be with you!

Thanks for the video.
Quick question, every time I start the game i lose all my control settings and camera views, why is that ?
I've got the X56 too and have the same issue on MSFS 2020 with the view stick drifting and eliminated that like you with the deadzone. It wasn't always like that and assumed it was my X56.
Nice video, anyhow it´s not that big of a difference from 2020 and you can now bind custom views to anything you like.
the choppers are unusable in flightsim 2024 now. It used to be the throttle up and down on my stick allowed you to gain or lose altitude. Now, because I don't really understand the terminology, I have no clue which one to assign to allow me to go up and down. All so irritating.

man 2020 was way easier to set up with a Joystick than this game its crazy, Dunno what Asobo&MS were thinking.
Will this solution work for the trim wheel also? I moves slightly on its own.
Poss. Give it a try and do please feed back...
As of yesterdays update my stick rudder twist axis now turns the nose wheel hardly any degrees. Setting now in cloud and wont change... for the amount of fixes and bugs I cant believe they didnt fix many them b4 release.
Sorted now?

@ wouldn’t have anything to do with the engine master?
Trim does not work in this heli correct? They need to fix it.
Just given it a fly - around everest - nope, look slike the trim cannot be set yet, quite an effort on the cyclic but managed in the end.

Sorted. It was the lack of bindings that was the issue. Just had to find the right ones...
Can you export your controller configuration??

@ thank you sir 🫡
I can fly prop planes no problem, I just moved to jet’s and when I give it throttle it’s turns off 🤦🏽♂️

Yep - can work on that. The 125 is running under a basic cofiguration, and I am not getting trim adjustment though.

any idea how to get flight panels to work?

Asobo = OldBozo

Yes it's confusing but don't give up. I do think that things will improve.
what an irrigating video
Yes, although I think the water features still need more work.
