OMG! What a video! "Flying" MS FlightSim since the beginning. Never seen somebody using Game Controller for Cam Control. Just ordered yesterday, today Amazon Prime delivered, and what should i say? Awesome! Thank you for your inspiration and beloved instructions. People like you opens the curtain much wider and let the unknowing look like real beginners. Thanx for your channel and great content. 👍
Thank you. This and the Controls video has greatly assisted my conversion from MSFS 2020 to 2024. I'm progressively programming a Winwing Ursa Minor Fighter Joystick R, and like you, and using the many buttons and switches to create as much HOTAS as possible. Perhaps the most useful assignment is using the Thumb Joystick to map the Camera Cockpit Yaw and Pitch (inverted) to move the Cockpit Camera. (Don't need to toggle Freeview.) This is great for events such as arrival on left base to land, as the view can be maintained on the threshold. All the Daher TBM 930 cockpit is visible (including my beautiful copilot) and the Crashbar is accessible for shutdown.
Thank you for this great setup. I had the same wish of using the XBox controller for camera views only. I also tried to add slew mode to it but I got into trouble with freelook and I messed up. Is it possible to add slew mode as well?
Great video!! Thanks for making and sharing it. Hey any idea on how to get Track IR to work with MSFS? It works in 2020 but not I n the new one and it seems it because I can select it in the drop down menu. Anyway if you know how or have any ideas please let me know. Thank you!!
I am struggling with the exact same thing right now 😕 I tried everything online but cannot get track ir to work with msfs 2024. Worked perfect on 2020. I will keep trying though
Another great vid. Those shots are cinematic. Do any planes with glass cockpits have cameras? Like a back up cam if you want to stay in first person. I find it funny if I saw a pilot running around the cabin looking out the window…
… Great videos❤… in msfs 2020 I could assign custom cockpit views to my keyboard by 1) setting a view 2) pressing CTRL+ALT+[NUMBER] … then to get back to that view all I would need to do would be to press that number on the keyboard (i.e. just one key to press rather than ALT+[NUMBER] … is this not possible with msfs 2024? It makes it much simpler pressing one key than 2 which if it’s ALT+9 for example, requires 2 hands taking one hand away from the joystick?
Thanks for all your great vids. When I create a custom view for an aircraft the way you described (i.e the way I have always done it in MSFS 2020) it works as expected. If I then try to create a view for another plane it keeps returning to the view co ordinates of the previous aircraft. It seems the sim is applying the same view to all aircraft. what am I doing Wrong?
You will have to create custom camera views for every aircraft separately. May be I did not understand the issue here...so you are trying to create a view but it keeps defaulting to the default cockpit view? I tried it on 3 airplanes so far and it seems to have worked right. Probably still a bug?
@@AirborneGeek With further testing I've found that sometimes it works correctly and sometimes it doesn't. Restarting the sim seems to help. Clearly a bug, sigh...
It's the x and y axis that I need to be able to change on my x box controller. I want to invert them for flight camera And walking camera please. Do you know how?
i have a question why does the cockpit freelook not work on my mouse i use the same settings as the 2020 sim is something locked for me in the settings or is it something to do with my mouse like when i hold the right mouse button it doesn't move
Check what hold and toggle freelook buttons are set to in MSFS settings for you under mouse. If not, assign it. Try using the mouse 2020 traversal profile for general and airplane settings
@@AirborneGeek for some reason I don't have the mouse 2020 traversal profile i have the middle mouse button set as toggle freelook cockpit and hold freelook cockpit as the right mouse button but for some reason it wont move or work
When I walkaround I cannot move, and im stuck in the fuselage when I start flight at gate, specially in 737 max, why? And when I move my mouse to look around it moves too much

Thank you for leaving a comment Chris and glad it helped!
Thank you kindly for such a great video
Great video. Only thing I can't figure out is how to get closer to the window to get a better view of the wing.

Can you please help me figure out why when I turn my controller left or right it’s turning my camera in game. Almost like I’m using the joysticks

@@AirborneGeekLet me know if you get it working. I’ve tried everything I can think of!!
The left stick on my controller will not accept x or y axis, I set it, but it does not work.

@@jonathonanderson8004 Thanks mate!! Yes there is always external view that you can shift to and fly from the outside. Is that what you mean?
@@AirborneGeeknah, like cctv cameras like a Tesla
what do I use to move camera forward and backward?
Left joystick button is what I have setup for that

Yes, assign num keys to load custom camera 0 to 9 functions
… thank you … you’re a star❤
@kendalley2314 np, infact that is exactly how I have it setup in. The MASTER KB profile that I show
… oh right … watched that before commenting yet missed it🤣 … enjoy your day👌
At 4:30 LB + LS does not work for me like it does for you. Can you share what all you bindings look like for the cockpit camera?
Yes I can do a community post for it today. Just check back by tonight and it should be there

It's the x and y axis that I need to be able to change on my x box controller.

Search that axis by input in controls and then inver the ones assigned to the camera movement you want to invert
@AirborneGeek thank you for that.
Are you able to make a video on setting up dual monitors
What exactly?

How do you make cabin wing views in the 737 max?
Same method should work on all airplanes
@@AirborneGeekI'm not able to get into the cabin for some reason, only on the 737 max.

Freelook speed is probably too high and getting stuck is probably just a bug I am guessing
