Not my usual musical genre, but I got caught down this rabbit hole a while back, Melanie is so good, you can't help but see the talent, she's transcendent.
I discovered Melanie and her family about 3 years ago, thank you so much for your great reaction! My favorite vids by them are 'Jodel-Time', done when Melanie was about 20 yo, and shows why her style is called 'tongue yodeling'; and a duet with her mother of Willie Nelson's 'Blue Eyes crying in the Rain' (in English, no yodeling). Their voices blend so beautifully!
I’ve been hooked on them for the past month. Cheesy in presentation, but as you say, wholesome and extremely talented which puts the cheese way to the side.
Hi Beth, I'm so eager to watch this analysis. Oesch's die Dritten are really great and Mélanie is amazing : she can do everything with her voice. Their last songs are less in jodel style than this one but always so wonderful. Like you it's always make my heart lighter and give me a smile (very big one) when I listen them. If you listen the other songs of the band you will see that they can play music with everything from bass to cajon, spoon and even cheese grater. And Mélanie can have hoarse voice too (a little like in metal style) when needed. I watch the analysis this morning and thank you for the details you gave on the technical use in jodle and on the band. That's why your videos are so great. Take care.
I went down the Oesch Die Dritten and yodeling in general rabbit hole about ten years ago. I listened to different German, Dutch, Swiss, Scandinavian folk music almost every day for over a year. You should look up ewigi liäbi. There is a candid performance of it with Padi Bernhard and Melanie Oesch they perform it in a cozy pub. It always makes me smile.
Fun fact is, that she sings in high German, which is not her genuine language (it is Swiss German). But as the German speaking part of Switzerland is quite a limited, she cleverly extended it to Germany and Austria too (they all understand High German). With that, she as about 10 times more audience than Switzerland only. The family is widely known in those countries today.
Nice to see you react to and analyse "Oesch's De Dritten". I went down their rabbit hole many years ago. The family is great. And Melanie is amazing! So good. I have returned to their videos every now and then. However, it's been a while since I last visited them, as I have been listening to other music, from different countries, and the last couple of years I've been listening to a lot of rock and some metal mostly bands from Japan like Band-Maid, Lovebites, Gacharic Spin, Hagane, Nemophila, Hanabie, Trident and a few other's. And a few from Korea and China. Some of which you have already reacted to. I'm always interested in what you have to say. Hope you can react to some more of "Oesch's De Dritten".
G'day Beth, Northern Europe/Alpine Hearder Music makes me smile & giggle too, it's just so infectiously happy🔊 🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😁 The look on your face at 6:14 😲😲😲😲😲
Hey everyone! Does anyone know the best place to submit suggestions for future reaction videos to Beth? Is there a specific platform for this, or should I just leave a comment here? Thanks in advance for your tips!
No way, eh? Humans can't make sounds like that. She's an alien! Seriously, that is just totally amazing. It's always so cool when people take some stupid thing we can do and turn it up to 11. Michael Moschen's juggling. People who don't blink for minutes at a time. People are just so dang weird and cool that, even after decades of watching them, I still haven't seen a millionth of what we can do. Crazy-ass species, humans.
The first video of theirs I saw was "Da Da Muh". I don't really speak German, so I reached out to some native speakers, and they had no clue. Apparently it's some local dialect from deep in the mountains that differs significantly from hochdeutsch.
In this video it's a interview with them talking in English and they talked a little bit about Da Da Muh song and what it's about ua-cam.com/video/2_3YIoDY91o/v-deo.htmlsi=spTfW6z2AqdlFGUb&t=1035
My work took me to Bayern (Bavaria) for six years yonks ago. Once I left, I determined never to listen to Polka again. My kids know this, so occasionally call me and play some as soon as I reply. I then sulk and ignore their calls for a few days. 😂

I was looking at the other videos and thought, how come no one here introduced Ado to her? This is a channel about singing and there is no video of her about one of the best vocalists today?
Actually, yodeling started in the Appalachian Mountains as a means of communication between neighbors. It didn’t start in the Alps like so many people think.
Yes, we all remember the farmers and cowherders in the Appalachians from the 15th century and earlier, that would later colonize Europe and bring their North American cultur to the new World, called Europe. Makes sense, yep.

Beth thanks this just lifted my spirits, and you just have to smile when listening.
Such fun...if you can't yodel...just clap and dance. Thiroughly enjoyed this family and their yodeling music show!
SHE'S PHENOMENAL ❤❤

There are other yodelers out there but, none can compare to this lady!!!
Not a patch on Franzl
Takeo Ischi
just insane precision and range, incredible
I was not at all expecting the Swiss German text. Most other creators would just have used standard German. Good job.
G'day Beth,

This is AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing this Beth!!!
A very special reaction. Even the information is in some kind of Swiss German.
bärndütsch, kanton bärn
(bernese, canton of bern)
I love how every german live yodel show is in a beer hall.
Love them they're great family band!
You pronounce the Swiss German words well. Very nice reaction. Thumbs up. Greetings from Switzerland.
Thank you! 😃

Nice. I’ve seen a lot of their stuff. Franzl Lang does some good yodeling too.
She actually has reacted to Franzl Lang in the past ua-cam.com/video/mo8WarZmI_g/v-deo.htmlsi=1B31m8tWak49C_Ak

Oh Beth, you're going to be the death of me. I hear yodeling, and I get weak in the knees. I can't even stand up.
🇧🇷 incrível
They are big here in Austria!

Please react to Roupa Nova "the brazilian Toto"!!
Ukranian Yodeler named Sofia Shkidchenko, was on Ukraine Got Talent in 2017. It was a great appearance. She is active in making music on UA-cam.
Can you react to Ayliva Beifahrer please. She is from Germany ☺️
I get the yodeling part. What I don't understand is how she can stay on tune when she's bouncing around like that.
She's simply the best !! and in their concert you have this for almost 2 hours and at the end it's even faster and more energetic
Oesch's die (dee) Dritten
Hopp Schwiiz
You need to check out Franzl Lang. He is the King of Yodeling
She already has in the past ua-cam.com/video/mo8WarZmI_g/v-deo.htmlsi=VKdcIp_xs-NBXvm8
not my prefered music style.. but yes we love them anyways !
der Vater hat immer Gesichtskirmes 😂

Вы выбрали не самую лучшую песню у "Oesch's Die Dritten". У них есть и намного лучше. И очень раздражает мама солистки. Вечно лезет на первый план.
did you give up on country music ???
Nick Shoulders “Rather Low” will keep with yodeling and bring us back to country.
No in fact 2 of my recent new music Tuesdays have been country
