    FSD should be licensed to the customer who pays for it, and stored in the driver profile.
    That way, FSD would be enabled whichever Tesla you drive, including a rental car. ☮️

      I think they should sell that as a different package for a higher price. Life chauffeur $25000 any Tesla you drive activates FSD.

    Regarding Dan’s desire for backup power for his house, you don’t need to plug into the 240 outlet! There is a “whole gadget” (excuse my highly technical terminology) that enables you to have household backup power through the Cybertruck charging cable I believe! It’s like getting a Powerwall installed but your Cybertruck IS the Powerwall. They will install a gateway and other equipment, but a power outage in your house becomes unnoticeable when the power that was charging the CT battery instantly reverses and powers the whole house from the CT battery. Supposedly up to 3 days of power, but of course that depends on your household power usage and the percent of charge of your CT battery. What I like about that is, if your CT battery starts going low from powering your house, you can drive to a Supercharger to fill it back up, then drive home and power your house for another 3 days!

    • @flyshacker
      @flyshacker 14 годин тому

      This is an addendum to my post above. The “gadget” is called “PowerShare” which includes a gateway and a two way wall charger, all available from Tesla. The Cybertruck battery is equivalent to 9.4 Powerwalls!!

      Yes, for me the lack of range of the current Cybertruck and the fact that it is not eligible for the federal $7,500 are reasons to hold off. The superior range of both the Chevy and the GMC are both very enticing. The biggest problem with buying a GM truck is having to go back to dealing with a dealership!! Musk should probably not have promised a 500 mile range, then delivered little more than HALF of that amount. Too bad. It could have been a really epic truck.

    I ordered a non-F cyber truck about 2 weeks ago. I'll trade in my model Y with FSD.
    When I ordered the Cyber truck I was told that I couldn't transfer the mod Y FSD and would have to pay another $8,000 for the Cyber truck. Me not happy! Since I already paid $6,000 for the model 3 that I first bought, and another $9,000 for the model Y, I had $15,000 into it!
    Certainly didn't want to pay another $8K. I was pretty much considering that I would cancel the order.

    I got my non foundation last week. I couldn’t justify paying an extra $20k for wheels, FSD and some cheap accessories. The FSD will take years to pay for itself and add another $150/year to the registration plus the additional sales tax… The monthly sub will cost much less in the long run. When it’s time to replace the tires, BFG ATs are much better/cheaper than the stock tires. Save the $20k and do some PPF and a powerwall.

So I decided to list them on a card that I give out if I'm in a hurry, here it is:
    Cybertruck 30 minute dissertation short form;
    My 7th and last truck (previous daily drivers, all 4x4 Toyotas starting with the 1979 SR5, last Tundra, a 2014 had 220,000 miles on it), love this beast, is the future, all electric, lightning quick (0-60 2.6 sec), steer by wire progressive steering (full left to right lock 340°), 4 wheel steering (really tight turns), air suspension (17" high setting clearance), regenerative breaking (rarely use breaks), 48 volt low voltage (really small wiring harnesses), Etherloop communication, heavy duty stainless steel body, almost NO maintenance (Tires, wiper blades & fluid is about it), over the air updates, and most importantly gas pickup $60 to drive 250 miles, Cybertruck $15-$19 electricity (400 wH/mile x 250 miles at $.15-$.19/kWh) to drive 250 miles, and Tesla is 10-15 years ahead of everyone else.

      Supposedly RWD is happening early next year. It’ll be $61K, not $39K, but still way cheaper than anything we have so far.

    Tesla should add the paint and interior options on the Model X for FREE if you buy FSD.
    This would increase FSD take rate and also increase sales of the Model X.
    Buy getting the paint and interior options for FREE it keeps the price eligible for the $7500 tax cut.

    • @DB-cu4hn
      @DB-cu4hn 20 днів тому

      You get one paid option last I checked. So paint can be that option or wheels or extra seats, but only one thing to still keep it eligible.

    Tesla should lower the price of the Model X enough so that you can select the color exterior and interior you want and not loose the $7500 tax credit.
    They should do a special "buy FSD and pick your colors for free". Tesla would increase sales, profits and FSD users. FSD income drops to the bottom line.

    "walk away from a deal" isn't really the same thing as a normal car at a dealer. It's the right choice for many reasons, but it just doesn't carry any value against Tesla since you can't negotiate.
    What do the kids say these days? "That's not the flex you think it is."
    Not complaining or anything, just making a point.

    FSD transfer is kinda fake though. Doing the transfer took the value of FSD out of my trade-in when I did it.

    My Day 1 reservation was for an AWD dual motor CyberTruck for $49,900. The 2024 cost is $69,900. That’s an excessive differential. I’ll pass for now.

      @@Derpy1969The $7,500 tax credit was also disappearing during 2019 when Cybertruck orders were first occurring.
      With a newly lowered price of $79,990, it might soon qualify for a $7,500 tax credit in 2025.
      So, the cost might be $72,490 in the next few months.
