I just got a brand new XC60 T8. I also noticed the P button being "not responsive." However, I suspect this is a design choice. Like the Caps Lock key on a keyboard, it may require a "press and hold" to activate, in order to prevent accidental switching to P while driving.
The latest Volvo versions of xc60 are compromising safety which is stupid for a brand that is known for safety. Plus, the car is 10k more expensive than a couple of years ago. In model 2024 you can't get blind spot monitoring in anything but the most expensive spec (Ultimate). Meanwhile, you can get the same functionality in 3x cheaper cars as a standard feature.
Shifting from D to N while driving is the most stupidest thing to do pointless and dangerous. Auto hold doesn't obstruct parking in any way . Useless video

could you please elaborate how they compromise on safety in the new xc60 models?
