@@PDubsArcadeLoft new subscriber here. A couple of questions. What’s the reason for the USB cable? Is it because the Bluetooth doesn’t work? I just ordered this so I want to know what I’m getting into. Unfortunately the manual online doesn’t go into this sort of details. Thank you
Pdubs, a couple things, A trick for volume if you're using Libretro emus with Retroarch, you can go into Retroarch, Audio/ Increase DB level. (it will increase some to get you to a reasonable level) Also, for arcade, you could also go into the Dip Switch/Test menu and increase volume for most games that way. Second, i didn't understand what that meant, "you were short 1 button? Retropie I believe only requires 4 joystick moves and I believe 2 buttons, all other can be skipped. Which button is short? Are you referring to the 2p Credit button? (i can't speak for what recalbox requires for button setup)
PDubs Arcade Loft Ok. A couple tricks in RetroPie. Set or skip the credit button to anything else, then you can go into the joypad.cfg file and manually change the start and credit button for 2p to the same button, or just set the credit button to “nul” or remove it altogether. The credits from P1 should be fine in almost every case. If you did make credit and start the same button, It will add a credit and start at the same time. All joystick.cfg can be manually changed. I bet using a pc with a graphics card i.e. using nvidia sound through a single hdmi cable would solve the sound issues. Seems like the arcade legends or raspberry pi has a weak DAC. Might be a better investment just buying a nvidia shield vs running a raspberry pi 4. Usually when running pi with arcade speakers like the ALU you have buy a cheap DAC with a volume knob on amazon. Sounds like ALU team did not plan for this issue and hope it can be fixed on the main ALU cheap cpu they used
So quick question.....I have a RPI4 with RetroPie....do I need to wipe that and add the Lakka version or is there a way to get RetroPie working with this RPI4?? (BTW I love your videoes, so helpful for a beginner like myself) Thank U!!

Quick question, if I run a PI 4 with a huge 256gb...will that run fine or is there a limit to how large the PI image can be? I assume it will run fine because its using the PI 4 hardware and basically just using the monitor and controller of the legends ultimate
PDubs, please work on figuring out how to get rid of those wires and mount permanently in the rear of the unit. Also have you considered throwing in a compute stick? Seems like that would be the ideal way to preserve stock ALU and still get coinops with OTG support
Did you try a regular 3B and also and you actually don't need the extra button all you need to do on the player to side is be able to hold down start select as your default button to go back to the image also there is volume settings in retropie if you hold down start button it should be able to take you to those you can increase the volume inside retropie itself so then you can adjust the volume on your at games
@@PDubsArcadeLoft yeah I have a few machines running Raspberry Pi and when I want to adjust the volume I don't go in back and use the amplifier I just adjusted in the settings makes it much easier like I said and your best bet is to use start select for player 2 because when you're using a cabinet that has 6 buttons that's what you normally would do start select on each side for your default key
What do I do when it's not working. The pi has power, arcade is on. I select setting and tab on OTG mode. That takes me to a screen that is labeled "OTG Mode". Gives me 4 steps to follow but doesn't allow me to select the tab labeled "Enter OTG Mode". ONLY cancel tab is highlighted and I can't get it to toggle up to select Enter OTG Mode. When I just follow the instructions and change channel to HDMI mode it gives me a screen that says no signal with an image of the layout that highlights the port area. With instructions to press to button to switch between display channels.
