Great review, thanks for that. I totally agree with you that Asus network products are super underrated. I have been using Asus routers for 7 years now, it's the most stable, reliable and feature rich product I have ever seen.
How about testing the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz WIFI networks at near/far ranges and publish those results? When we buy WIFI routers, that's normally what we're interested in. You mention that you've had a new 500Mbps line installed, but you do not test the capability of this router?
how I can access my asus router through asus application while I'm a way from home? for your info i can use it to have access to my router at home while I'm connected to wifi but if I'm not connected the asus wifi I can't access or read or control the router because it's not connecting to the wifi
I'm having an issue where I have 10 Upload, and I stream at 4. However it constantly cuts out to 1 and my ping spikes to 200. My bufferbloat is F rank. D you think dropping 150 on this would help someone with 40down and 10 up lagging when he's streaming (uploading) to twitch? cheers man
The management will definitely clean up the experience but that sounds more like an ISP issue. If their QOS is bad this router will be half as effective.
I have the same router and i use the bandwith limit option and get bufferbloat A A A on dslreport. You have to run some test on dslreport and changes you upload and download speed (in the bandwith limit option settings) before you get a good result.
Hi. I'm having a bit of a problem with this router. I just got this a few days ago. After setting up, i was able to get around 600mbps (LAN) which is my speed plan. But the follow day, it dropped to 480-520mbps. When I try to connect directly to my main modem, I'm able to get 600mbps. Is there a setting/feature that may suddenly lower down my speed for this router?
Will this work on BT FTTP? Thinking of 900 speed package. Will it replace the BT smart hub or do i plug the AX5400 into hub? Although that means having 3 boxes plugged in for FTTP! Can i just enter my VPN unlimited username/password to activate VPN?
I just bought it, and range is very very bad, also if i go to other room (i am still very close to the router, there is ine wall between us), speed drops drastically, from 400 to 40, do you know if there is a solution to that or is the router bad ?
I can't decide between ASUS TUF-AX5400 vs Tp-Link Archer AX73. The specification is very similar, but I'm interested in stability and WIFI coverage. Maybe someone can share the experience.

Not unless the QOS bandwidth limiter is active that is the only thing that could affect it
@@evetechtv thanks for the response. Yah, the culprit was the QoS. Disabled it for now. speed back to normal~
@@feriel1216 great to hear. Are you still using the router?
@@edwinungerer7989 yes. Working well until now

Always vote ASUS!
I love TP-Link but if you have the money for Asus the buy Asus. My favourite router is Asus and TP-Link my second.
Hi @Janis Janis which one you bought finally? Hows the performance (stability and WIFI coverage)?
