  • The EP Cube is a Canadian Solar battery backup system that features a 7.6kW hybrid inverter capable of powering an entire home during a grid outage. With the EP Cube's unique battery design you can stack the batteries under the inverter to create a sleek and compact system. Each EP Cube battery is rated at around 3.3kWh and a fully stacked system is just under 20kWh of storage capacity.

    Looks great Dale. Really nice to see the color match painted conduits. So many solar installers don't take as much pride in installations these days. EP Cube looks great too. Show us more!

      Thank you for your comment! I completely agree, the color-match painted conduits look fantastic. And I couldn't agree more about the EP Cube installation, it's great to see solar installers taking pride in their work. If you're interested, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube. It's a versatile powerhouse with a massive capacity and fast recharging capabilities. It's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like us! Happy camping!

    Nice looking install. As a Calif NEM 2.0 homeowner, I am hoping to see content for those like me who want to upgrade their existing system with batteries and more/better panels but keep my grandfathered 2.0 agreement. Heard elsewhere that additional DC-coupled power won't trigger a contract change while new AC-coupled power will require the 3.0 contact. Would love to see some content regarding this subject. I imagine that there are a lot of Californian's in my same situation with inverters approaching 10yrs of service.

      Based on what I have heard you need to pay attention to the output of the inverter. If you don't upsize the AC kW output you can keep your NEM agreement. Would not mind hearing what others are seeing.

      As far as I know, if only battery energy storage system is installed, it will not trigger NEM3.0 contract

    I’ve been looking at the enphase 5P and the Franklin WH for self consumption and backup. This one seems like a better system for my situation, since I wouldn’t need to buy an inverter. Any thoughts on EP cube vs 5P for whole home backup?

      We'll be doing a comparison video soon. There are pros and cons to both of course, a lot of our customers are opting for the EP Cube because of the compact design. 20kWh at 7.6kW of power in 24 inches of wall space (left to right) is basically unheard of. I understand with Enphase 5P you can have 20kWh with 15kW of power but you need ~5 feet of wall space (left to right, and assuming you stack them on top of each other).

    Can you double the continuous power by adding another inverter/battery group?

    • @PacificSunTech
      @PacificSunTech  10 місяців тому

      Yes, you can stack up-to six units which increases cont. power, surge power, and storage capacity.

      It actually comes with the Tigo Energy inverters we use for replacing old, out of warranty solar inverters. We don’t need to install them since older solar systems didn’t have rapid shutdown so we repurpose the part for the EP Cube.

    How can I find a solar system that will tie to the grid, kick on my generator when the grid is down, and does not require a battery however will allow me to put in a battery of my choice? Is that possible?

      Mabye Purchase a separate inverter, but i guess you need a controller additionally,like the smart gateway of the EP cube

    Will the EP Cube support AC and DC solar input at the same time?

    • @PacificSunTech
      @PacificSunTech  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it does support AC and DC solar connections simultaneously. So you can retro fit to an existing system AC coupled, and then add more solar to your site and directly wire it to the Hybrid inverter.
