I have a 10KW portable inverter generator. Can I connect it directly to the Gateway's Generator input and limit how much EP Cube draws from my generator (not sure if EP Cube has a setting to limit how much it draws from generator input), or do I use EG4 Chargeverter, and supply DC to the EP Cube to charge its batteries
Yes, you can connect it but we do not recommend limiting how much it can draw.
@@SignatureSolar how do I prevent the EP Cube from drawing more than what my generator can produce ? I am thinking of getting EP Cube with two inverters , 5 batteries per inverter
I wonder if these will be approved by California other states seem to also be using that approval list like Arizona.
They are approved in California!
@@SignatureSolar I could not find it on the California Energy commission website. I only saw inverters made by Canadian solar that were 480V inverters. The battery was not listed either.
Hi again! This (linked below) is on the EP Cube spec sheet. UL1741SB is a supplement to UL1741SA, the cert required for CEC compliance and it also states in the listing that it is CEC compliant.

Thread on DIY solar someone said he fried a few inverters because his Generac generator output had such high THD. I have heard of generators destroying electronics that were not inverter type the output was so noisy.
