This is a nice intro to the what the tuner can do but I would recommend you upgrade internals/ bolt-ons. Short explanation is stock parts are only made to handle so much fuel, boost, etc. You're gonna burnout the stock motor and internals.
Stock internals can take A LOT of abuse. I used to have a VW and the car was designed for 200hp and APR was making big turbo kits which we installed giving us 400+ on stock internals, no problems. Things get messy when opening up the engine.
The accord isnt awd because they want you to buy the tlx if you want awd since that way they can squeeze more money out of u and their wouldnt be an incentive to get the tlx if the accord was awd
The 21 TLX 2.0T will have available SH-AWD. I’ll likely be getting that to replace my 19 TLX V6.....then I’ll dabble with some of the mods enjoyed by Accord X 2.0T enthusiasts.
Nice video. Love that RED. Thanks for explaining and showing. Looks and sounds mean. It would be interesting to see this go up against a stock Type R and compare.
Thanks for the video. One simple question if you don't mind, can you stop the speed limiter? I mean the maximum speed can this car reach is 208 KM, but I've seen people remove the limiter in professional way and it has reached 285 km as maximum speed. So my question will you be able to remove the governor or the limiter for speed limit? If so, please update us with the video.
What’s the difference between stage 1 and stage 2? Obviously more power, but you said you only have intake, so can you safely tune stage 2 on stock hardware? And if so, what’s the point of stage 1? Nice and informative video btw. Peace
Stock power is very fast on sport mode. I have the same 10sp AT shift transmission which is insanely fast in its on right. The only thing is, front brakes seem to fade or vibrate a bit. Is this an indication I need new front brakes? I think I had my rear brakes changed already. Like when I’m driving fast on freeway if I’m not paying attention I feel as I might hit the cars in front me. Once I hit the brakes sends my body and passengers flying forward. Definitely not safe, yet alone having over 300hp with a tune like this. Only thing I had changed was brand new tires. Keep in mind this is the 1st time replacing front brakes since I purchased the accord 2.0t in 2018. You think my front brakes are done? Taking in my car to Honda this week for oil change and brake inspection hmm 🤔
Jeremy Pennycook a great mode. Car picks up insanely. I would say drive it stock for a while so u could tell the difference. But it makes it a completely different.

Dwight Prewitt where do u live. Does it snow there? Cuz honestly I struggle in the snow. If the Lexus IS AWD then definitely Lexus. AWD is a king. But how is the maintenance on the Lexus. I choose reliability instead of AWD and luxury. But Lexus is good since it’s a Toyota. I love my accord and I am keeping her. People always look. It’s crazy cuz it’s just a Honda hahah. You can do so much to Honda and there are soooo many modes and customization and pretty cheap :)
Great video. I have a 2020 2.0T Sport and I’d like more power but I have a few questions. (1) How useful is this upgrade? I have trouble putting the power down to the ground as it is because it just fries the tires when flooring it from standstill. Unless at highway speeds, what would be the point of more power if u can’t use it? (2) How is the fuel economy after this mod? I would imagine that during spirited driving it wastes a bit more gas, but during regular timid driving it is the same as before because it’s not as if you changed the displacement of the engine. Am I right about this? (3) Some of the folks mention that the warranty might get voided. If u bring the car to the dealer for whatever need, how would they even be able to tell that the car has a tune unless they take it on the road and get on it hard? Does Hondata also void the warranty? (4) Did this mod change the sound of the engine at all? I hate how timid the engine sounds. I’d love for it to sound throatier but not necessarily annoyanly loud. What can I do to get a deeper throatier engine sound, preferably without doing something too invasive and irreversible since it’s a lease? Thanks a bunch!
I don’t own a 2.0 Accord but all OTS (Off the Shelf) tunes are the same, I could answer most of your questions. 1. You’re having trouble putting power down because your car is FWD and they struggle with traction, getting wider and performance tires help with traction. I personally recommend Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. 2. Surprisingly tunes actually help fuel economy unless driving aggressive, a lot of tunes help with MPG. 3. The dealership won’t go lurking around to see if you’re tuned unless they have a reason to do so, like if you’re having transmission problems they’ll make it a problem, they can tell it’s been tuned by checking the ECU. Also, they won’t bother checking if you’re just going for regular maintenance like oil changes. 4. It could enhance the sound, just a tad bit. You might hear some back fire and a slightly deeper note. But besides that it won’t be anything drastic unless you get an exhaust or downpipes
@@LeJunny If I put back to factory tune, would they still be able to tell? I'm not the guy you answered to but he had the same questions as me so thank you for your answers!
@日産スカイライン hondata stage 2 adds more than 100 lb-ft of torque. It's easily believable how much torque these little turbos can make for a second or 2. It's the drop off that's horrible.
@日産スカイライン it's actually more like 80-85. It literally says 85 in the link you sent. I was getting stage 2 mixed with the flex fuel tune which adds over 100+ lb-ft of torque.
I purchased an 18 2.0t. I somethings think the previous owner KTuned it bc it’s stupid quick. I for sure know he put in a KnN cold air and some stupid LEDs in the trunk. But for a sedan…I’m pretty positive it’s as quick as my 5.7 challenger. But I have no idea if it has a tune or not. Lol
Fabio Souza Jr not sure but everything running fine. I am not heavily modified. If put more things on my car then definitely I will do a bigger intercooler. I know having a better intercooler won’t hurt but I’d rather spend my money on a down pipe
Intercooling prevents overheating vs downpipe gives more exhaust performance, which may lead to higher power, but more heat. Up to you on which is more important.
Pretty dumb statement but alright 😂it's the most bang for buck but downpipes and said tune will help your top end and mid range alot in any turbo car, significant difference
Wedow big facts... most of these small turbo 2L run out of breath around 5500. While they don’t usually have a HUGE effect on the peak numbers. A good intake with Down pipes and a test pipe usually help it carry QUITE a bit more power to redline instead of falling on its face at 5k.
Wedow Depends what you want but 50 additional hp with a tune is a big gain. Cold air intake is not going to give you that kind of power and if you buy quality instead of some Ebay garbage it gets expensive. If you want more power take it to a tuner and go E85. I like the small turbo’s zero lag. The Type R turbo has some low end lag from what I have seen.
Phantom096 I had a FBO and tuned 2013 genesis coupe 2.0t stock it put down 220whp and 260wtq on XXX motor sports dynojet in Pensacola FL all pulls done on the same dyno on the same day. Stock with an SFR stage 1 tune it made almost 260whp. Thing made mad torque 340wtq at 3500 and held it to right at 5k where it rolled over hard, by 5500 it was still pulling but was down to around 250wtq and by 6500 was below 200wtq. Putting an intake, test pipe, and full exhaust on it only got me an extra 30whp and actually dropped my peak torque to 320wtq but it didn’t nosedive like it did with the stock intake and exhaust. I was still making almost 290wtq @ 5500 and by 6500 was still making almost 240wtq. I paid $300 for the tune and got 40hp and 80wtq then paid 1500 for the intake test pipe and exhaust and only got 30whp and lost 20wtq but overall the car was WAY faster with the intake and exhaust than it was with just the tune. Bang for the buck you can’t beat the tune, I’m not arguing that at all. But what I am saying is that other Bolt ons have their merits as well especially after it’s tuned.
So one year later, what’s your updated review on it? Have you ran into any issues with your Turbo now that it’s working a bit harder? Or anything else come up?
No nothing. Been great no issues. I sold her two months and I have a Tesla now. The seller contacts me asking me questions lol. He loves it. I mean I invested a lot of money. High quality brakes and rotors and a ton of accessories. With this tune you need new tires cuz it does make them front tires spin lol.

Yes I do. I have a K&N intake. It was $300 so worth it. I love it. I have a video on UA-cam. Just type K&N intake 2018 Honda Accord and you will see it. You will find it easily.
Cuong Nguyen some people said that Honda still covers the car. I haven’t had any issues and I can’t speak. Honda makes their cars to be tuned and abused. That’s why people buy Honda’s. Honda knows people will be doing things like that. I know it’s a Honda but people like pushing the limits. Their engines are amazing and they are always under rated. Especially this 2.0t people get shocked by the power it has (before the tune) hahah
Legend17 Cuong Nguyen had a very sound response. Anyone who thinks they can take their Accord from a very decent performing sedan to a high end performance level sedan with some bullshit they purchased on eBay is fooling themselves. Your car was designed to handle the 250-260 HP it produces. Yes, it shares the same stock engine as a Type-R, but it doesn’t have the performance parts attached to the engine that the Type-R has. In the long run you are going to damage your engine, and there is no way Honda will honor your warranty if they can detect you modified the factory settings. Your warranty is for the car/configuration you purchased, not your modified Accord. Do you really think Honda is going to say “okay, you have a huge engine knock and timing issues due to this modification you did to get 20more HP, but we got your back, we cover idiotic mods on our warranty” You seem to b having fun which is awesome, but those dealers will do anything to void your warranty.....plus you don’t want to fuck up a perfectly nice car for a little more acceleration.
Jerry K Hoff I agree with you and you have a good point but those engines can handle a lot. Trust me I know a lot of people have very modified engines and nothing happened to them. I do have lifetime warranty and literally a tech at the dealer told me if you decide to put a tune in the future for us to be able to fix anything you have to remove it cuz in the report we send Honda it will show and Honda will reject it. I literally took my car there cuz of a misfire and he scanned it for free and told me it’s a spark plug. I changed the spark plug and car runs amazing!! Was done changing the spark in 15 mins. Can that misfire be caused by the tune? Yes it might.
@Cuong Nguyen Ha ha, no shit! I went in for my first service on my 2019 2.0T accord and they were trying to charge me money on basic service that I had purchased as part of my deal with my car! The guy asked, "where did you purchase this vehicle?"....my car literally has the plate brackets of the dealership and he was staring at them when he asked me the question. I realize we aren't dealing with NASA scientists when we go in these car dealerships, but get your game together. When we went to the register and straightened things out, he said, "good news, no charge you purchased the lifetime service package". I just said "woo hoo!" and walked away. I think the service package was a rookie mistake on my part, but I dont have to worry about finding a garage for quality oil changes on a performance engine. Some funny shit happened as I picked up my car, some Honda oil change mobster came up to me and told me not to come back in before my warning level was at 10%..... my car was almost a year old and at about 20% service warning...I just told him, "see ya next week, I have unlimited oil changes and I want to see you work".
This is amazing Really cool!! However, I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are buying the car. Depending on the dealership, some actually check for mods.
does that mean mods to the engine like a K-TUNER would void any factory/dealer warranty? bc i have an accord coupe 2017 and thinking about running a k-tuner under a power train warranty from the dealer.
@@jimmyle6305 Here's the thing. Technically if you are using a ktuner and it could be traced back to a failure or malfunction of the car, yes your warranty can be null and void. some dealerships, especially where there is a high propensity for modded cars, will check for alterations. Most won't. Typically this doesn't happen because most used cars that come back in from leases are quickly moved off the lot to sell to other dealers or potential owners
@@Jykobe491 no sir it just meant that he didn't respond back. I personally been running ktuner since my car had 15000 miles on it. Didn't care about the warranty, I just wanted the engine to have a good break in period. Car runs perfect. No issues whatsoever
i have a 2020 1.5t and till have a warrenty, what i’m curious on is would the dealership be able to detect that i’ve ktuned the car before, but turned it into them with all the factory stock maps, would there be some kind of history there for them to be able to see what i’ve done or would they just go based off what they see ??
because in theory can’t you drop a file with all the stock factory mods and tune the car up before you take it in everytime ? pain in the ass but is it doable ?
I have a friend that has 1.5t heavily modified and something happend to his transmission and his exhaust was leaking and they fixed everything under warranty. I saw a video of someone had an issue and they said they can’t fix his car. So maybe depends on the dealership. I took my car to get an oil change yesterday and they didn’t say anything. I told them I have brake issues and they didn’t scan the car. So let’s say something happend to ur axles or suspension and they come and tell you hey man we can’t fix it cuz you have ktuner then they can’t do that. Cuz it has nothing to do with it. You know what I mean. Same with an air intake. If you have an aftermarket one then they come and say your transmission broke cuz of it, they can’t do that cuz that’s not what caused it. But they can be assholes about that. They have to prove this specific part broke something on your car and if they can’t then you are good to go :)
Alright boys quick question. Some flirty cute chick says my 2.0T is slow. She drives a lightly modded 350Z btw. Can the 2.0T keep up with some mods on a twisty mountain road?

Wait im so confused so you can make your car run faster all by downloading a software program and not changing any actual engine parts? Ive never done this before so im confused
Nick Nana yes you can haha. I didn’t know that too. And I was shocked tbh. So Honda locks the turbo and makes it only make it produce a certain psi. But changing the computer in the car it unlocks the turbo to let it produce/make more psi so that equals to more power. Of course having parts like an exhaust and air intake help the car. But I know it’s crazy hahah
same here...i dont want to install the oil catch can as well. Will wait for any modifications until warranty is over. They have a strict void policy for engine modifications.

Been thinkin about getting a tune for the 2.0 T but I was wondering by getting a tune will it allow you to accelerate over the 120mph or will you still have to remove the governor?
No you have to find a tune for your altima. It changes the configuration of the car, each cars configurations are different so even if you could tune your altima with their tuner, your car would be fucked up, not in a good way.
If you Mod the ECM, you run the risk of pre detonation, blowing a piston. You must burn premium fuel also. Not worth the chance unless you have money to throw away on a new engine.
That’s what I said too. But I have lifetime warranty 😂 people say it’s safe. My friend has a heavily modified accord like mine and his transmission broke and Honda fixed it under warranty.
Dumb question amnesty as I saw you click on different values. Can I just plug it in, choose stage 2, install, goodbye? I don’t care to mess with individual settings.
Feq questions here, so I'm currently using a pedal commander, right now I'm currently leasing my vehicle 21 Accord 2.0T but I'm planning on financing it, I'm just nervous that this will be detectable in the computer system of the car and I'm afraid that it can be traceable, for a beginner is this better to use? is this better because I see there's more customization options? I just don't want it to screw up my engine, which is what I'm afraid of?

You really should hook up a battery charger. Bricked an ECU about 10 years ago with a flash without a battery charger. It helps stabilize voltage.
mdw1000 Ktuner is very safe and big company. But thank u
@@Iegend17 he means you should connect a battery charger/maintainer while flashing an ecu. If the battery dies you will brick your ecu. It doesnt matter that ktuner is a good company. If your car battery dies while flashing a tune it will brick the ecu
This is a nice intro to the what the tuner can do but I would recommend you upgrade internals/ bolt-ons. Short explanation is stock parts are only made to handle so much fuel, boost, etc. You're gonna burnout the stock motor and internals.
It’s a Honda lol. She will be fine hahah
Stock internals can take A LOT of abuse. I used to have a VW and the car was designed for 200hp and APR was making big turbo kits which we installed giving us 400+ on stock internals, no problems. Things get messy when opening up the engine.
That’s what you think until you blow a head-gasket. Yes, it’s a Honda, but you’re still wearing out components faster than normal.

The Expert Gamer I live in Austin TX, what awe awd used for?
2021 acura tlx 2.0t is lol
The accord isnt awd because they want you to buy the tlx if you want awd since that way they can squeeze more money out of u and their wouldnt be an incentive to get the tlx if the accord was awd
The 21 TLX 2.0T will have available SH-AWD. I’ll likely be getting that to replace my 19 TLX V6.....then I’ll dabble with some of the mods enjoyed by Accord X 2.0T enthusiasts.

Same here haha. Like few years ago who would’ve thought his will be possible.

They detuned by giving it smaller turbo. Possibly, they also gave less racing grade internals. Just watch out for higher than normal wear and tear.

How you explained the mapping stages was a bit confusing, if compared to what’s written. Thought I’d mention it. Thanks for the vid!

Man this gen accord is so clean... I'm torn between getting a Lexus gs350 and this honda... Right now my head is on the honda.. Seems like I would just be paying more for the name..
Go Lexus you won't regret it. Holds value better and is proven reliable.

@日産スカイライン but it does lol and you can feel it
@日産スカイライン it's actually more like 80-85. It literally says 85 in the link you sent. I was getting stage 2 mixed with the flex fuel tune which adds over 100+ lb-ft of torque.
Hey man, how long have you had this car for?
How is the reliability with the tune?
Thanks.
You have to say :" if you put it into sport mode, i will give you the power you dont need" lolll too muchhhhh
Lol
It actually keeps up with some of the fast chargers and challengers stock
how are the intake and exhaust temps? maybe look into bigger intercooler and oil cooler to improve long term reliability.
Fabio Souza Jr not sure but everything running fine. I am not heavily modified. If put more things on my car then definitely I will do a bigger intercooler. I know having a better intercooler won’t hurt but I’d rather spend my money on a down pipe
Legend17 ‘
Mark Kaai yea?
Intercooling prevents overheating vs downpipe gives more exhaust performance, which may lead to higher power, but more heat. Up to you on which is more important.
The only mod these cars need is the tune since they already come with a turbo. All the other stuff is a waste of money if you ask me.
@@TurboNFRStwoK exactly lol
Does this flash make the car less fuel efficient even in Eco mode? Also do you think think the tune will ruin your car faster?
Do you really think Honda is going to say “okay, you have a huge engine knock and timing issues due to this modification you did to get 20more HP, but we got your back, we cover idiotic mods on our warranty”
You seem to b having fun which is awesome, but those dealers will do anything to void your warranty.....plus you don’t want to fuck up a perfectly nice car for a little more acceleration.
@@Iegend17 Not sure about the misfire, but as long as you are having fun and willing to pay the price, keep rocking!
Technically if you are using a ktuner and it could be traced back to a failure or malfunction of the car, yes your warranty can be null and void. some dealerships, especially where there is a high propensity for modded cars, will check for alterations. because in theory can’t you drop a file with all the stock factory mods and tune the car up before you take it in everytime ? pain in the ass but is it doable ?

If you Mod the ECM, you run the risk of pre detonation, blowing a piston. You must burn premium fuel also. Not worth the chance unless you have money to throw away on a new engine.

KTuner base maps have been extensively tested and are very reliable.
@@TheAngryDuckmanso the car isn't going to blow up?
I’d rather have the 3.5 accord sport .
i wouldn’t 😂
Smart man
You say that only because you don't own a 2.0t sport.
The 3.5L V6 only comes in the EX, EX-L, and Touring V6 models. Lol
isnowyazn I like the older accord 3.5 sport sedan.
Well done. Nice job.
Little late here in 2024 but k tuner coming next week im hyped
Dumb question amnesty as I saw you click on different values. Can I just plug it in, choose stage 2, install, goodbye? I don’t care to mess with individual settings.
Good work on the car. Can you tell me where is idle speed, so I can rev up and down. honda accord 2020 2.0t
Where do you get the black trim you have on the front? It looks amazing!
eBay or Amazon. eBay is cheaper. I have videos on my channel with the link. Just write “Honda accord 2018 grill cover Legend17”
Did you need to get a new PCM? Or computer or just plug and play?
Feq questions here, so I'm currently using a pedal commander, right now I'm currently leasing my vehicle 21 Accord 2.0T but I'm planning on financing it, I'm just nervous that this will be detectable in the computer system of the car and I'm afraid that it can be traceable, for a beginner is this better to use? is this better because I see there's more customization options? I just don't want it to screw up my engine, which is what I'm afraid of?
A tuner should be the first mod on everyone's parts list.
I would imagine this would immediately void your warranty though? Would the dealership know if you flashed your car back to stock?
Gotta love a tune!
Hey, my ktuner just came in as well. Hows your tune holding? how was your experience?
How was the tune in normal mode in stop and go / slow traffic? Because I know 10AT tranny are abit jerky
It’s the same nothing changed tbh. I had one misfire that’s about it. I made a video to help others
I used to have a 2018 Infiniti Q50s with ams lower downpipe , ams cold air intake, hks bov and fast intention exhaust with a jb4 kinda like the ktune and it blew my motor lol .. Now I got a 2020 Honda Accord 1.5t did all the look outside and just got my carbon fiber steering wheels installed ..
Oh dam man. I was thinking to get the Z but I am scared now 😂. I sold my Honda and got 22 tesla model 3 performance
Impressive !! 👍👍👍👍
Car is looking clean!! The blacked out grill really pulls it together.
Justin Dones thank you. Yes for sure it does. I love it. It makes my accord special. Yes other accords in the streets don’t look like mine haha
Do you have any other performance mods done, or is everything still stock? Just the tune?
Will this work on the 1.5t?
Only air intake
Awesome vid... But, does it void the warranty? I thought flashpro was backed by Honda North America, let me know when you can:-)))
