In this tutorial I will step you through how to -
~ Fold your fabric and cut bias strips,
~ Join your bias strips to make one continuous length,
~ Stitch the cotton cording in place to create your piping.
A second video on how to attach piping to bag panels can be found here - • FREE Tutorial - Attach...

So helpful, thank you so much! I've made the "classic clutch" no piping involved. I can't wait to try this out. Did you mention what kind of cord was needed for the piping? Size? Love the video and your patterns!💟

Thank you Yvonne! You're most welcome! For the cord type - I use cotton cording that is specifically made for piping, however I know of some customers that use different types of cord or even shoe laces! Whatever works, is pliable and most importantly, the right size as per your pattern directions. Hope that helps! :)

What is the most popular size of cord to make the piping?

Hi Jeanne! It's really personal preference to be honest! I used to like the wider 5/32 size, but these days I prefer the narrower 3/32 size. As long as you keep in mind that different sized cording will need a different width of bias-cut fabric to cover it, you could try a variety of sizes to find out which size you prefer for your bags. :)

If your strips are 1.5 inch wide, what size is the cording? Loved this tutorial! Thank you!

Thanks for your question but unfortunately I can't answer that as it depends on what seam allowance you are using and how tight you want the cording to sit within the fabric.

@@AndrieDesigns I know, I wondered what size is YOUR Cording.😉
