Wow! That is a fantastic instruction video. I feel a lot less intimidated about cutting bias strips of fabric now. Thank you so much!
we are SEW glad it was helpful.
Such a good video thanks
Best tutorial on cutting bias strips that I've seen yet! Thank you.😊
This is the ONLY way I make bias tape, no waste, so easy. I get tons of bias tape out of one yard of fabric. Thank you!
The little tips and tricks are the best part of this video, easily integrated into pre-existing workflows.
Best tutorial on making bias tape! Thank you.
Thank you this video! It has been a tool I have in my sewing arsenal now! This is the 3rd time I've reviewed in and used it for my pillow piping! Great job
I like the big ruler on you wall, so cute👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for this video! I was looking into how to cut a whole yard piece into bias tape but was only finding videos with fat quarters.
I love how you give tips on prep and what to do with left over for next time. I have had sewing machines for years but only did simple hems and such. Now I’m making a lot of COVID-19 masks and need to know more for better masks. Thanks you! I just subscribed to UA-cam for the first time ever…and I’m a not a young kid!!
I can’t wait to cut my bias strips this way. Thanks for making it so much easier.
I used this method last night for my binding strips. Awesome and super easy. Thank you!!!
Great tutorial. Also, love the storage tip at the end! Thanks!
Nice instructions, thank you....I’m a beginner and you make this look almost easy! 😊
Best ever instructions! Thank you! Plan to save this one.
This is one of the best and easiest techniques I've found. Thanks!
Thank you for your tutorial. You have made it so easy to understand, some written instructions are a bit confusing at first. I know I will refer to your tutorial again. Happy sewing 🙂
My late wife used to make "Miles of Bias" ... buy a few yards of Fabric, rip it into Bias, and make a few rolls of strip.
I "Upcycled" bins of it.
Love this - thank you! I'm just getting ready to make some bias binding for a quilt & will give this technique a try.
Thank you for sharing you knowledge and expertise.
Thanku for this clarity..it was definitely useful ,well demonstrated and explained
Very nicely demonstrated
Thanks so much this is so helpful
I love to use me made bias binding. Cool technique.
Exactly what I needed. Clear and Easy to follow instructions. Thank you.
What happens if you unfold the fabric? Can it ever be refolded to the way it was so more strips can be cut? It seems like a lot of fabric could be wasted using this technique. Is there a formula to calculate size of square to length of resulting bias strip, so one can cut exactly what is needed and not have an oddly shaped piece left over?
When you tear the fabric for straight of grain, am I assuming this is on the selvage side?
Excellent tutorial!
I wish you showed how you fold it when you are doing the 18" version. That would be very helpful to see too.
Did you RIP the selvedge or the cut part in the beginning? Because when you opened it up you said the one side is selvedge and then the center fold. But where you pointed looked like the cut edge.
Hello, and thank you for the video. I wanted to ask if this can only be done on a yard of fabric or any size? Thank you!
Do you tear off one selvedge or tear across a cut edge?
Good demo, but disappointing that questions poised in comments are not answered.
I tried this with 3/4 of a yard of fabric. It didn’t work for me is it that I needed to use 1 yard of fabric? Or was it that I did something wrong? Thanks for posting.
Excellent
Good work
Does this method work with striped fabric?
What if you only need enough bias straps to finish a neckline? How do you conserve the fabric?
Do I use this method to make a stem or vine for applique?
Yes, this bias cutting method would work for creating a stem or vine. Depending on how many vines or stems are needed you may want to use 18” x width of fabric rather than 36”.
This is the only way I cut my bias strips, less waste than other ways. You also get tons of yards of bias tape.
What fabric is this?
Hi Maa wht Is the name of the tool u are using for cutting?
I have never managed to cut so easily! My ruleslr also wants to slide all over the place 😢
The tearing the edge did not work for me.... not sure why...
