Turning 40 this year and this Stowa is top of my list as a gift to myself. I have the Type B Escapement Time on its way to me so I can get a feel for which dial I would get if I buy a Stowa. Thank you very much for your videos, they've been really helpful!
That’s great to hear and a very good way of doing it. You will be impressed by the ET. Bit the Stowa is incredible. I will have some more videos coming out featuring it soon. Also just borrowed a Laco. So will also do a Stowa vs Laco video.
Congratulations, fantastic addition to your collection....given the choice I'd always go non date but must admit that the date window is very subtle here so I could get onboard with it....good call on the manual, the movement looks the dogs....🏴⌚🏴⌚
I would normally always pick the no date for a watch like this. But there was something about it that just worked for me. I’m very happy that I chose the manual only movement. It make it look better, makes it slimmer and just feels right for this style. Thanks for WATCHing
Fliegers and aviators are my absolute favourite style of watch. I'm still undecided between Stowa and Laco which both stand as grail watches. Another grail is the Hanhart 417es ❤
It is incredible. Really well made and lovely to wear. I think I made the right decision getting it. I did have some issues with the application of the lume. But when I contacted them about it they had it collected, fixed and returned in a very short amount of time. So after care service is great too.
Catching up with your videos James! This is nice for sure. I know you're a Pilot fan, me not so much, I have one A type and haven't been attracted to getting a B type as yet. But I'd likely go for an Escapement Time or another more affordable one if I was to get one. Excellent video as always and yes, the date looks great on it. And of course the German heritage just adds more coolness! 😊
The escapement time is amazing and it was a bit hard to make the decision to spend this much extra to buy this one. But I do particularly like the style and now I have my ultimate type B
you should check out Archimede, I’v had 2 Stowa watches. If you can get over the lack of ww2 history.. it’s Thinner, has better wr, better made and finished and cheaper. The base models are atleast as good as Stowa hi-enders (Ikler that own Archimede make stowa cases). I just ordered a CW 300 TP 40mm basses on your review. ty!
Type B Flieger is definitely on top of my list of next watch I want to get. Not this one of course. Maybe the San Martin SN033. Congrats on the acquisition. You watch reviewers sure have some understanding ass wives…
@@WATCHingJames I think Escapement Time has been sold out of the mechanical version of their Type B for a while now I think. I will keep looking though. Thanks!
You can never go wrong with a Stowa flieger, specially this one 👌🏼👌🏼
It is truly amazing. Exactly what I wanted.
Guess who'll be swanking around town tonight then, well done I'm envious, enjoy it mate.
Hahaha. More like wear it whilst sitting on my couch 😁

@@WATCHingJames Stowa vs Laco vid would be really interesting to see! Keep up the great work!
Gorgeous! I love this like I love my Laco flieger with the type B dial.
They look amazing
Very nice James, do they give you a option on the band colour as well as supplying the custom size for wrists?
No. This was the strap that came with it.
I was a bit unsure about it in the photos but it is really nice in person.
Congratulations James, an absolutely beautiful watch. Enjoy it in good health. Looking forward to your full review 👍
Thanks Felo. This one is a bit extra special

I’m very lucky to be able to get this one. It is particularly special
That's how every display caseback should be made
It certainly feels better than most I’ve experienced
This is a stunning stowa definitely get more for your money
It feels like a very very nice watch
Beautiful watch. Congratulations.
German Quality!
Thanks Dirk. I am really happy with it.
Still liking this watch? Considering getting this one but on the black leather strap.

What size is your wrist? I'm currently debating a type B either in 40mm or 42mm. This one looked really good on you.
17cm and this one fits perfectly

I love this style of watch but most are too big for me 40mm wears like a plate haha!
Hahaha. This is the perfect fit. Such an amazing watch.
Fine looking beauty, congratulations! Would have been interesting to see it side by side with your cheaper fliegers.
That’s definitely a future video idea.
Does that have a completely flat crystal, or is there a slight dome? My Laco Flieger has a domed sapphire (double domed).
It has a very slight dome to it.
This has become one of my favourites in my collection. It is amazing.
german quality. I always wondered what the winding difference of watches should be. Btw Nice review James.
One of the best winding experiences I’ve had.
This is a mini grail for me.

I really enjoy this one. I would definitely recommend the escapement time as a more affordable alternative. I preferred it over the San Martin.

Lovely watch. They have quality look about them. Some other good looking watches on their site
