Great video! You got a subscriber. I've been into rockhounding, prospecting, and lapidary for years. Still really enjoyed this! I have the Smithsonian Rock and Gem book too! Almost need a new copy because I use it so much. I've never seen Schorl like that before! Toumaline is my favorite.

Make me know when you want to "Homullemulle" = find da kin. We live active lava flow plenty last 3yrs. Mahalos & thank you.
Oregon coast has tons of all different kinds of semiprecious stones all different colors. More than we can carry out. I’ve found several garnets too and probably passed on tons of other stones I should have taken. Sit in one place and then slowly sort thru it and down deeper. Also lots of sea glass especially on specific beaches where there used to be a dump many years ago. River mouths that meet the sea and surrounding areas based on tides and after big storms are the best.
@@khialmuhammad7726 umm. He explains well enough how to identify gems. There's test Anyone can conduct to help identify. Mohs hardness test, specific gravity test, cleavage, color, location found, use the science. That's where the fun is. Those apps aren't always right.
