K Custom Dark wins pretty much every sound category. 👍
Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
I agree. I have one in 22" and I'm in love with it... !!
The bell isn’t great, think it’s too quite
@@TunnelSnake-es7tu I don't think so. If you play metal you'll probably want a more cutting bell (not necessarily though), but for almost any other musical context, it's great. It blends with the music and isn't too harsh. And I play mostly rock, by the way. Anyway, everybody has its own preference, I guess...
Isi Hernández he doesn’t have it shown but the zildjian heavy 20 is a good balance
@@TunnelSnake-es7tu never said there isn't many other great cymbals... 🤣🤷🏻♂️
Really helpful. It all depends on what the application is but I think the top 3 that would work in most gigging/studio situations are:
1. K Custom Dark
2. K
3. Either the A Medium or Ping
Those are the exact three I picked out in blind sound comparison. Nice!
K Heavy Ride was my favorite!
21" A sweet ride is one of the best
That is my favorite, and what I always use.
Lmao the l80 ride cracked me up...
Why’s no one talking about the Avedis? That sounds great!
Agree!
My fave!
Good tone, but also loud!
It’s the worst one
@@carlosaguilar6835 I own the 22 and have a/b'ed many against it and it's got it's own sound and is a very cool ride. Crashes fantastic. Deep and low without weird overtones.
I appreciate you putting this together. I really appreciate you putting this together as a film editor. This must have taken you forever to record and edit! Thank you!
Haha. Appreciated
Excellent! Loved the way you demo'd each cymbal with different rhythmic patterns-riding, crashing, etc. No one else I've seen has done it so clearly, that it seems crazy they haven't!
Either of the Constantinople rides are easily the best sounding and coolest looking, especially with that awesome vintage logo. Only problem is the price tag.
Great video! So simple, straight to the point, not much blabla - so effectiv! Thanks alot!!! Next video crashes, chinas, hihats!?!?
Best way to decide upon this excellent work is to watch it eyes closed, over and over.
Great presentation - thanks! This is extremely informative-much more so than most of the other comparison videos out there. Well done.
I dig the A Custom 20” Ride. Love the finish and the sound
Anthony Faiola 9 I love mine
22" KCon is where it's at.
After visiting my local drum shop many times, I ended up with the 20" K Custom Dark Ride. It sounds much better than the video and matches up perfectly with my 18" K Custom Dark Crash. My style is light jazz and light pop/rock with various wood tip sticks, depending on the size of the venue.
Years ago, I only used Zildjian A Series cymbals but as the K Series expanded and improved I've "gone to the dark side".
It must have been a hell of a job to change all those cymbals and then record edit and put together the videos. Here, take my like for the attitude! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I like how the A Custom cuts through. Great rock and metal ride.
It's the all-around best Bright cymbal Zildjian offers. Other manufacturers make better cymbals for that category, but A Customs hold their own.
I wished all cymbal comparison videos copied your presentation. It was the best on UA-cam
No crazy chops on the snare and crazy bell heavy samples mixed with patterns that hinder you from hearing the quality of the sound. You separated it and it flowed in a row.
I really that you. You really provided me the most comprehensive and valuable service I’ve been dying for
I’ll bet there are a lot of people now who can go out and actually buy the cymbal that is without doubt perfect for them the 1st time
I agree, there is always way too much bell in most ride demos.
Ive been looking all over the internet and havent found a better demo than this. Now just do it with every cymbal every company etc!
I’ve been building my studio drum set and this really helps me, trying to find the perfect RIDE as we speak🤩
I like the K heavy and K dark. Thanks, I'm learning about drums so I get exactly what I want when I purchase. Very helpful video.
Thank you for this great demo! I like the a medium and a custom.
Thanks so much for doing this, this video is perfect and exactly what I needed!
K Heavy sounds best to me, great video thanks
One of the worst sounding ones.. Only one was good, and it was the Kerope.
Same
Very interesting and fairly useful ! Well done!
Nice1, this is a very useful insight into the range of dynamics because lets face it, no-one wants to stand in a shop smashing cymbals out of context..
A Medium Ride and K Ride, the best for me! Amazing video and performance
Was anyone else surprised by the Rock ride? I had never really given them much thought, but wow - almost as good as the K Custom Darks and way cheaper.
I've got a 20" K and a 20" K Custom and good Lord they are two of the best sounding rides I've ever heard.
Well done! Thank you. Very helpful. I'd go for the standard K or either of the K Cons.
K. Not too dark, not washy, not thin, not hard ... just perfect!
Thanks for doing this. Honestly want them all..
Great work on this thanks
Regular 20" K ride sounds best all around, really nice riding with little to no wash out and especially the bell to my ears.
100% agree!
Loved the K Heavy, the K custom and the Ping Ride! There was one important ride missing though: A SWEET RIDE (traditional and brilliant finish)
Hearing them back to back helped. I like the K Heavy.
This is a great vid! It confirms my choice in the A Ping! Great stick, killer bell and the new A’s open up enough to crash it!
Thank you! Very helpful
Great video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. I prefer the versatile models and would happily play the Avedis, K Custom Dark, A Medium or K Con Medium. My wife prefers the L80 - go figure??
Nice comparison video
I'd have to say the A medium had the best overall.
A Custom for me. Just ordered one.
If I had to pick one it would be the K. Custom Ride.
It had the definition similar to the Rock and Ping Rides, but dark with some rawness, and an awesome bell. I also like that it doesn't like being crashed all that much.
Amazing vídeo, thank you!
I made a comment below about my K Custom Dark Ride and Crash cymbals for low volume, small venues. Since then, I added another couple of cymbals for my larger venues: a 20" K Crash Ride and an 18" K Dark Thin Crash. Besides being louder than the K Custom Dark cymbals, they are also a bit darker with more stick definition. Both pairs are great, but not alike. Love them both.
Avedis, kerope, and Constantinople thin high are gorgeous cymbals
Thanks for the great video!
I like the bells on the Aviedis, like the stick/wash on K dark and finish on the A custom. If you put all that together that would be my ideal ride cymbal.
Try a K Custom Sweet Ride.
K Custom Dark Ride: lovely!
Nice collection
K custom dark my favourite. No annoying ping, not much wash and very versatile.
really good video
Thanks! great review!
K Ride 20 ~ sounds great !
Really helpful thank you so much!!
The heavy ride has the best bell sound imo, but I can’t decide which is overall my favorite
Idk why K heavy ride sounds brighter than A rock ride. I mean, A lines provide bright, wash cymbals and K lines provide dark, dry cymbals.
Is the brilliant/traditional finish matter?
Very Well Done! Brilliant! Ha! Yeah despite their detractors claims? Zildjian crafts professional instruments with great variety of sounds to choose from light and whispery to deafening sharp and loud.
Great video! I’m surprised, though, that your wallet was still heavy enough to mute that snare. Two of these pies and mine would float away.
All best yt video.
I own a K 20” and love it. Want a K Custom.
I got a 20" K in 1999 - I don't know still if I love it. But after 20 years I haven't been able to top it!
Thank You!
The best cymbal comparison on the internet. All about the cymbals and not a drummers ego
K Custom Dark followed by the A Custom brilliant
The two best at opposite ends from Zildjian. They've set the standard in that regard.
Crash RIDE sounds pretty good to my ears...only thing a bit lacking is the bell
Please, what weight was the Avedis? Sounds incredible... Thank you for great comparison!!!
Cool video also reminds me of Ween’s Roses Are Free intro
The Zildjian Avedis Deep Ride 20" is a great ride cymbal. To bad they had disscontinued it's production. The fully separated bell with more sweet spots, if you play it quieter it gives a great vintage dry cymbal sound with low overtones. And if you play it louder it also has a great sound. You can even use it as a crash cymbal. Perfect cymbal for playing at all kinds of situations, from low to medium and to loud volume gigs..
I have to go with the K 20
To my opinion - K Custom Dark Ride, K Crash Ride, K Ride, A Medium Ride
K or A medium for me 👍
Custom dark is just amazing overall.
The Avedis, A custom, are definitely great too
But that damn K custom is the best sounding I’ve ever heard
The more I listen to cymbals the more I’m convinced that these more exotic K’s are really only for 1% of drummers
And they are all professionals. 1% of music played live today would even require these type of cymbal sounds
Yeah I love the more exotic sounds but really where do they in practicality fit?
razorblazer 05 I know that. I was commenting on the exotic cymbals in the K lineup not K customs
K dark is the best
For me to poop on ! No actually I agree
K Custom Dark Ride for me
K dark custom 👌🏼
k crash ride. that's what comes into my mind as a ride cymbal tbh
Yummmmy Kerope ride
2:46 5:31
3:19. 6:03
3:30 6:14
4:02. 6:46
I was hoping too see a 20" Session Ride in there.......it would of been one of better ones....I think!
K ride!!!!!!!! Wow wow wow :-)
THANK YOU......
I know that it has been five years since this was posted, but do you remember what stick you were using? Thanks.
I always forget about the Kerope.
Had a K Custom and it sounded great. Until I got it home and played it with my kit. I couldn’t hear it at all. It was extremely quiet. Got rid of it even though it sounded good, but it just couldn’t cut through the rest of the kit.
20” K heavy. My choice!
The first one, Avedis signature and Constantinople medium seem like the most versatile to me. Great video, we all seem to like something different.
The Avedas 20" is superior to them all. And it sounds like my used Sabian B8pro 20 " medium ride. For Jazz swing it is a must have and for all slow songs.
A custom really sounds great in video but better in person
they all sound better than my paiste pst 7
Yeah thats because they're expensive high class B20 cymbals.
😂
Do you still have the K heavy ride available???
K heavy sounds great
Organic k sweet ride is my favorite
Which one of these ride cymbals would work in an indie setting?
Like others have said, the dark K's win. I do also like the Constantinoples, and I prefer the second one over the first one. The dark K that was raw was good because it is much thicker than the others, and that makes for a good ride cymbal for the crispness on the bell and playing the tip of the stick. Overall, the dark K's win this comparison. I am not familiar at all with that Kerope. Didn't care for it, except it might be better to me, as a crash instead of a ride.
K Crash 0:37
K Custom Dark 1:01
Either custom A or heavy K
No custom hybrid ride which is my personal favourite🤔
ill take the a custom ride any day
Currently playing Rock/Hard Rock/Metal-ish so that Heavy K ride is singing to me. And it's bell sounds spekkitakilar!.
Great comparison... You just cost me about 250 to $350 😟😦😌😀
I used to own a K Heavy, and you're absolutely right about the killer bell. Fell in love with it the moment I heard it.
Try to get a used one.
Or get an older model from the mid to late 2000s, best sounding cymbal I've heard
@@dwaij8448
Funny enough, I'd virtually forgotten about them for the last 2 years, then recently I've started looking at them again. Condition and price are what I'm going by really, but I'll consider an older one for sure. Thanks for the tip 👍
Oh, and has to be a 21" so I guess I've got my work cut out for me
K RIDE FOR ME!
could you post the weight of the Kerope?
