    I don't want to speculate on what may have befallen Nicole & baby Reign, but the symptoms sounds a lot like a little known but potentially very serious condition known as HELLP syndrome. Please, if you have any changes during pregnancy or (even a little while after childbirth) tell your midwife! If you feel brushed off, ask for another opinion. Even mention HELLP syndrome and/or pre-eclampsia as a worry. Please upvote this comment so other people can learn about it!!!! Please stay safe everyone, this is such a tragedy whatever happened. May they rest in peace together, and may their loved ones find some comfort and solace.

      @@Jelena2022 Medical racism exists since slavery, white people believed that black women could not feel pain the same way as white women. That is the reason why black women are 3x more likely to die during pregnancy than white women. Symptoms are not taken as seriously and medical textbooks do not include POC or black people when it comes to different diseases. Regardless of the medical professional's race, medical racism has been instilled in the system. It is up to the professional to really take the time to consider their patient's symptoms especially those who are black or POC

    • @boochi7087
      @boochi7087 4 роки тому +9

      @Polish Rainbow.
      I guess it's time to educate you because you're too close-minded to get it.
      Yes, even if it was a black woman, it could still be the result of the racist system. Notice Daya did not say the midwife is racist, she said the system is. The system being racist introduces a lot of biases that are perpetuated by most people who have the advantage in the system. So, a black midwife who has been educated by a bunch of other midwives with years of experience in being biased towards black women and who run on the assumptions that black women are inferior, don't deserve the same level of care or are more aggressive and hence stronger will carry those biases through her work.
      This is why racism is bad. A lot of people worry about the immediate effect, but it grows roots and branches and those are the toughest things to eradicate; the biases and stereotypes.

    Pregnancy is very hard but her symptoms were abnormal; pregnancy shouldn't be that hard. She was only 24 and she was fit. It's not normal to feel out of breath ALL the time. And the loss of vision, pain in hands, etc. could have been preeclampsia that was missed. That midwife she spoke to may have a lot to answer for.

    I have heart failure after having my third child. Simply because I was struggling to breathe throughout my pregnancy as I there was a lot of pressure on my heart. I went to the midwife multiple times for this reason. I was told that I was suffering with anxiety 😑( something I have never had) After begging for a scan as I couldn’t feel my son move the doctor saw that he was not receiving oxygen. Long story short, I went into cardiac arrest at the hospital and they stole my medical notes after complaining. A lot of her symptoms sound just like mine when I was pregnant. Ladies if you are pregnant and experiencing extreme breathlessness and chest pain go to the hospital and do not leave until someone checks your heart! RIP BEAUTIFUL❤️

      So sorry you went through this, I always say mother's instinct is a damn powerful thing! After my growth scan for y middle child who was measuring small and my first had been almost 9lbs they sent me on my way home. I got home and I just didn't feel right about the results he had had much progress and they said a Dr wasn't available untill Monday to eveluate the scan. I phoned up the emergency number from my notes and they said you need to come back now and be induced. I was 39 weeks almost so it was okay but it goes to show my boy wasn't growing or getting enough nutrients and the hospital were happy to send me home. It really proved to me that as mother's and women we know our bodies and sometimes jus get a feeling something isn't right. There has been multiple other situations like that aswell to be fair as I'm sure there are for many women. Preeclampsia - mainly damages the heart’s ability to relax between contractions, making the organ overworked and poor at pumping blood.
    It also significantly increases the risk of heart failure, heart attack and stroke.
    Long-known risk factors for preeclampsia include very young or relative old age when pregnant, being overweight, high blood pressure, family history of some autoimmune disorders such as lupus, and AFRICAN or Hispanic descent.
    WOMEN are more likely to be told their pain is “psychosomatic,” or influenced by emotional distress. Sometimes, a patient's symptoms are dismissed because they are considered 'too young' and generally healthy for the healthcare professional to even consider a serious illness.
    Health care providers may have implicit biases that affect the way women are heard, understood and treated.
    It is not known if Thea sought medical attention. But her symptoms are a 'red flag' of impending heart failure.
    Let her story serve as a warning..💐

    A work colleague of mine was almost constantly out of breath in the late stages of her pregnancy. Even when simply talking, she'd become breathless.
    She went into labour 6wks early and after she gave birth, the doctors found that she had an untreated heart condition which she probably had since childhood (she was 39 at the time of diagnosis).
    She had also retained a lot of water which dissipated once they gave her water pills.

    *Posting this comment here too because what happened to Nicole needs to raise awareness:*
    I'm here after watching and reading the comments under Your Way Out's video about higher risks of complicated pregnancies among black women and medical professionals widely thinking that Black people can handle more pain hence the lack of medical attention...
    All of this leaves me completely speechless. This lady was so young, beautiful and inspirational, always dancing, so energetic... Her being gone like this is so confusing.
    She literally complained about her contraception for years (video posted 1 year ago on this channel) and doctors didn't take her seriously. How could they have kept her on such a dangerous hormornal drug for 3 whole additional years longer than normally required??
    She also complained about being short of breath, experiencing chest and back pains (+ vomiting and blurry vision after physical efforts) as she was getting closer to term in this video. How could her midwife assume that it was completely normal without running any tests AT LEAST to double check?!
    The only good thing out of this story is that Nicole had a huge platform on social media and I'm glad that these videos are here as evidence clearly showing how she brought up all these issues to professionals over time and yet how they failed to take care of her in the right way.
    This right here is another aspect of the racial issues Black people have to go through in hospitals, I really hope her family will sue and bring this problem to justice so that the system can change and avoid other Black women to go through the same thing. I know mourning is extremely hard and difficult but may her and her son's death not be in vain for the Black community, may her legacy be to create better and fairer health care conditions in the UK and worldwide.
    All my prayers go to Boga and Nicole's family, may she and Reign rest in peace 🙏🏾💕

      Is true I went trough the Same thing and I nearly died. I was 9 months pregnant. I had pregnancy diabetes my blood became acidic. weeks before it happend I too complained of not feeling well, not feeling the baby well, vomiting I fainted on the streets 3 days before it happened. the hospital told me I was just doing too much, and that I just had a flu. I also had shortness of breath. when my husband and my father saw that it was getting worse they drove me to the hospital. thats when the doctors were shocked. As I said I had pregnancydiabetes my blood was acidic, I also had preclamsia and a light stroke they thought. my son didnt make it. I begged them to get my son trough surgery. they refused because I was too sick. so he died. My point is they never took me serious, only when it was already too late. it happend sept 19. Just heard of her when she passed 😩 I'm so sorry to any of her followers who this may be hitting hard. Things will get better! Prayers to the family, friends, followers of Nicole. This is almost like a red alert that all "normal" preganancy symptoms should be reported. When pregnant we should be at high alert with anything. Not leave anything unsaid or deemed as normal. Bc just because a baby is growing inside of us and that could be a reason for a lot of symptoms but is a reason to be high alert for problems☹

    I don’t know who she is, but she seems like such a bright, powerful and amazing individual. I hope she and her son are at peace and her family along with her partner stays strong through this. Rest well, angel. 💖

      She's still alive. It's a social experiment that's why her friends and family haven't given a reason as to why she "died"

    Any pregnant or soon to be pregnant women reading this: please do not brush off or let others convince u you are ok.If you don't feel right go to the hospital, bother your midwife.follow your instincts even of its 100 times, go to the doctor,that's what they are there for. If you don't feel baby movements and your mind isn't settled go to the hospital, doesn't matter if you think you are bothering the doctors,bother them even of its for your piece of mind.The chances of someone finding out what is wrong is higher being in a hospital setting than trying to sleep it off at home. You will know when something isn't right with you or your baby.

Whoever has given this video a thumbs down need their head checking. They are sick. R.I.P Nicole. Miss you so much. Going to watch the video now. Hopefully to the end.I watched it to the end guys....but crying. Can't believe she's gone. I was literally going to ask her a question 🙏😢 there's not a day that goes by without her coming to my thoughts. Miss you girl.
