Dimash doesn't have a genre, he does what he wants, when he wants. For me it's one of the most exciting things about him, that you never know what to expect whenever he releases a new song. Sometimes it's 2 or 3 genres within one song.
There's no need to pigeon hole him. He is music, pure and simple.
Dimash will also be damn hard to cover by any other singer.
In an interview, the interviewer asked Dimash something to the effect of what genre or style he sings in...and he said "crossover" 😍🎶💕
@@seemabawani9042 that was a few years ago and what he was singing at the time due to his involvement with Igor Krutoy. He also said in the same interview that in 10 years time he shouldn't be the same Dimash he is now. He's constantly learning and moving in new directions, he even pointed out in the Antalya meet and greet that the five songs he'd just written were in the blues/jazz genre which certainly can't be put under the "neo classical banner".

Dimash can’t be pigeonholed into one or two genres. He sings opera, pop, jazz, ethnic, blues…and little of everything, often combined into a single song. Haven’t heard him sing country/western (yet).

Dimash has no category. None. He does any genre he wants and often combines different genres into one song as he did in this song between pop, and opera. He has described his work as neo classical. Some call it pop opera but he just moves where he wants. He recently did a new song called When I Got You which is set for release on the 24th in an MV. For now there are only fan cams but it has a blues R and B style and he rocked it. You just can't put the man in a box. It is impossible.

This song was originally done by a group called A Studio. The lead singer for that group had passed away. So dimash wanted to pay homage to him by doing the chanting that you hear in this performance at the Slavic Bazaar. The rest of the group is backing dimash up in this performance on stage
Dimash can't be but in any box or classified as a certain type of singer. He floats among genres like a fish in water, and sings what he wants! ❤

Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship.

What style? Back in 2017, his music was described as crossover or popera (pop/opera). But as of now, the only way to describe it is Dimash Style. He is a crossover neo clasical singer. He can sing in lots of genres. And he usually combine this in one song
Dimash has a style all his own. You really can’t put a finger on it because he does every single thing, all forms of music, all genres, although I’ve never heard him do Country .Also, he goes extremely low. I’m not sure what songs you have reacted to But, if you listen to Olympico or the story of one sky, you can hear how low he goes. And he goes extremely high. If you listen to Ave Maria, I think he probably goes the highest and the lowest of anyone.
It was not the "Voice"...It was "I am Singer". Which is a competition for Well known Professional Singers. Dimash was invited after winning several presdigious International Competitions. At that time the youngest ever, and the first non Chinese contestant. He knock their socks off. This particular announcer will continue to get scolded about his missteps when it comes to Dimash.

Someone else will probably mention that too: The Voice is not even on the same planet with I'm Singer competition, where only the best knows professional singers are invited (Terry Lyn!!!). When commenting on Dimash, it's wise to say things you're sure about rather than guessing. It doesn't look good and misinforms a lot of people.

Dimash the most versatile singer in the world!
Dimash doesn’t ‘explode’ in every song. He has some very beautiful gentle songs. Amanat from the digital show is like a prayer to his country. Also Quaragym-ai is a song he sang in an empty theatre during covid. It was to pay respects for a beloved college professor who died From covid. Marigolds is a folk song sang at the Kiev concert (before the war). I I Never Breathe Again sung at lots of concerts. There are others. They are stunning in their own way,

Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash.

Sinful Passion was created and sung first by A-Studio. The piano player is from A-Studio.. There are no words to describe Dimash, He is the total package, as a singer and a human being. He is singing Russian ( I believe ) He is all singers combined.

A-Studio is the band that first composed and recorded this song. They are also the band accompanying Dimash here. The pianist is the writer. The lead singer passed away from a heart attack, I think that is what it was. Dimash did not win on "The Singer 2017", even though he should have won. They could not allow the first foreigner and the youngest singer in the show's history to upstage their professional Chinese singers. The show had been a singing competition only for Chinese professional singers until Dimash was invited. So he did get second place. They then offered him a contract to remain in China for two years and do concerts and recordings. They absolutely adore Dimash in China. His first release went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in under one hour. The gentleman in the white shirt giving Dimash a standing "O" is Igor Krutoy. He was a retired billionaire Russian composer, arranger, musician, and producer, who came out of retirement just to compose music for Diamsh. He’s very in touch with his Soul. To me, he’s a human being who has already realized he’s a spirit and has overcome the inner chatter of the ego mind. Nothing stops him from doing anything. He’s disciplined, and practices several hours daily, swims an olympic pool regularly to keep his breath strong. Imagine what we all could accomplish if we could wake up?

What genre? Yes. DIMASH has his own genre. This is why he is hard to market. There is no singular demographic. He does do a few styles in most songs. Some call it "Popera"but it's more complicated than that. So it's just the D-SMASH Genre.

A'Studio is the name of the band who recorded the song originally. They were a Kazakh/Russian band. The original lead singer whom Dimash loved died in 2015, heart attack, i think. Batyrkhan Shukenov was his name. Two of the original members of the band are playing with Dimash in yhis performance. The voice is the wrong show, it is called I am a Singer.
Dimash singing style changes. But this style, i heard was called neo-classical. Part pop, part classical. Dimash loves mixing genres.

This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters.

You are way behind i n your reactions to Dimash, this was many years aho and he has done soooo much since th 14:41 !en. As mentioned he doesn't hwve a style or genre, he can do anything!
If u want to keep up with him and the Dears, you should do one a week. But as he has over 120 songs and performances now, that will still not get u caught up!
His range is the least of his skills. You're a Coach- you get it about training. Yes, Dimash was born with a genetic 'leg up'! Both parents are well regarded singers in Kazakhstan, but a fine instrument is nothing without skillful application. Dimash has been training his instrument at Olympic Gold Medal Standard level for almost 25 years now! When it was discovered he had perfect pitch, he started vocal training with the best teachers in the land from the age of 5. He has been training -for hours daily (that's Every Single Day) since. He also swims as much as possible to expand his lung capacity and does martial arts to build and maintain his core strength. Then he has trained - not just in Classical (operatic) voice, but also Musical Theatre, EVERY aspect and genre of Contemporary music, and also many traditional / folk styles and vocalisations from across the world. Dimash declined a place with his National Opera Company in order to be free to explore creatvely across All Genres, and blends multiple elements of these seamlessly. He sings in over 16 languages, plays multiple instruments, writes songs, and composes music. His also a fine actor and now developing rapidly as a film director. Just when you think you have seen him 'do it all' - he surprises you wth something completely NEW.
