Not shitty 1 page workouts for 250 dollars from simeone panda. His workouts and exercises variety copensates your way of training and you will get better. All that for 67 dollar. never ever regreated buying this.

Mark Richardson Theyre tryna make millions and its ridiculous i mean theres about 10 of them, you expect me to buy 10 different pre workouts for $50 plus shipping for like $75 total? Get out . No one ever got big off of Supplements or shirts they get big off of weights and food.

+Bruce Wayne think your looking from the wrong pov. Jeff said supplements do make a difference but they are poinltess without a proper diet and workout plan. Jess stance on supplements is spot on. If you can afford them and want them then get them because they give u an edge, but not without proper food etc

For a while after my divorce, I stopped working out and going out and spending time with friends and whatnot. Then I ruptured my quad tendon. I was in an incredible funk and doing things I'm not proud of. I realized that my life was over if I didn't start getting my shit together and immediately started changing my diet up to lose a bunch of weight. I lost 70+ pounds just through diet alone while my leg was still locked in a brace. Once I could walk again, I started doing just that...walking. That has morphed into being fully immersed back into a healthy lifestyle with exercise and diet. I couldn't imagine going back to where I was when I couldn't workout. It's the best form of stress management on the planet (as long as you're not using it to cover up mental health issues).

Cowelly84 i might not really be all-knowledgeable here but it does seem to me that a two-day slit is a tad too limiting. i mean, like Jeff always says, try to keep your workout last less than an hour, preferably 40 minutes. and if you really want to bulk up symetrically, what do you need to work on? the biceps, shoulders, triceps, chest, forearms, core/abs, thighs, calves, maybe even your ass... see how much of it is there? i personally switched to a three-day cycle, Monday for the biceps and forearms, Tuesday for the chest/triceps and shoulders, Wednesday for the leg stuff and then all over again until Sunday when I rest

    • @thebluescaptain

"what do you have a problem with them?"
Not sure if troll or a steroid abuser himself. Steroid users act "natty" to their audience just to "motivate" their NATTY AUDIENCES to get ripped and monstrously big like them. How did they do that? Well, simply just lying "do this do that and you'll be as big as mine bro" without even mentioning that they're on steroid abuse. Now, to be fair, some of them did admit they use steroids, but tons of them refrain from being honest.
These dishonest cunts are what spread hatreds to the people. Don't give your audience false hope if you know they can't be as big as you without risky chemicals. Good for knowledgeable audiences, but for the ignorant ones, especially fitness noobs, it's too bad for them. They'd try steroids without ever thinking about the long term side effects or short term risks.

In all seriousness though, it can be hard to determine to what intensity I should be pushing for without breaking total form. If I'm opting for proper form then I can usually get 7-8 reps. Any heavier and it gets sloppy. So I always seem to work in a decent amount of volume and intensity.

    1. good fats .. yep flax / avocados.
    2. training hard v training long. yep intensity is the key to gains.i think Jeff admits here he is an ectomorph so the lean look with be easier for him but gains are harder than for a meso / endo.
For the definitive education intensity google the colorado experiment ellington darden .
    3. Supps. Yes and no. If you need gains you are gonna need protein to support those. How you get that protein is up to you , but easier to down a shake than a whole chicken.
    4. Magazines. In most cases the workouts be the pros are isolation exercises ... they have already done the basic strength lifts to build a base. EG squats / deadlifts / bench/ shrugs imo pointless doing a side lateral for example before you have built core strength.
    5. Avoid injury at all costs. You can't make any gains or you will suffer atrophy when you get injured. Therefore avoid. Warm up and do some defensive / mobility work b4 every workout. Once a month have a deep tissue massage once 8 weeks chiropractic help. Yep boring as fuck but prevention is better than cure.
    6. Mix it up. Don't spend your life in the Gym. Do some low impact cardio for example outside the gym... E. G. Biking. Try muscle confusion ... don't do the same workouts over and over.
    7. Don't waste time in the gym gassing.
    8. Try to get a partner / spotter that helps and has a similar goal to you. If possible try to get one who has similar strength. Why ? S9 you don't have to keep in changing weights (applies mostly to barbell free weights).
    9. progress. Either resistance or modify (see Jeff 's excellent vids on this topic... E. G his I hate plank vid).
Maybe Jeff could have a play list for progression vids ?

flax and avocados, are you kidding me? Coconut oil (the best concentrated source of good saturated fat, boost testosterone), macadamia nuts (the best concentrated source monounsaturated fat, boost testosterone), fish oil high in omega-3 (the best polyunsaturated fat, which you should be avoiding BTW because it LOWERS testosterone (of the three types of fat), but it's good for helping with inflammation and mental issues). Important note, vegetables for omega-3 leads to poor absorption of omega-3 in ALA form (i.e., get it from fish with no ifs, ands, or buts).

      +SteelBlueVision ... coconut oil ... yep..and macadamia. .. also thumbs up.
I cook with coconut oil and love macadamia but it's difficult to "eat" a lot of coconut oil and macadamia nuts are way expensive here.
Avocados and flax no good ? why ?

This video was just what I needed to hear. Number eight is something I've struggled with for years. Just recently, I finally figured out a good balance between intensity and volume and my energy and strength levels have definitely increased. I also used to avoid barbell squats and deadlifts but now, along with overhead barbell press, they are my absolute favorite exercise.
Thanks for all your advise, Jeff!! Your channel has high value in my life!

Thank you so much for this and all your videos and programs Jeff! I'm 43 years old this month and I have also fallen prey to all of theses myths and mistakes. So much of this was an eye opener to me. Some of these 8 I was doing up until today!!-not anymore though;) By the way Jeff, I just finished week 11 of AX-1 and have already purchased my next program and I can't wait to start it!!! ((gotta hit my last 400 challenge (trying to beat 7:59) and my final exam first though-wish it were Monday already))!!!!. Anyway, your channel and stuff here has been changing my life, increasing my confidence, and I've been seeing noticeable results in my physique and my health so thanks again! Keep up the good work and I'll be following you every step of the way.

I don't care much for this supplement stuff. I know plenty of people that got huge gains without supplements and they just seem like a tremendous waist of money that you could spend on healthier food choices.

Yeah its again a Supplement, sometimes you don't need it. It's usefull if you find yourself exercising at werid times due to your schedule so you can make sure you get certain things in.

I agree and disagree with your statement about supplements. Does a person need supplements for gains, no. However, there are meal plans that people will go on depending on their goals and may get a vitamin deficiency and will need a supplement to keep the body in check to keep that from happening. Also, supplements can help the body recover faster after a workout.

Jeff, so much of this resonates with me because of some similar past issues (e.g. low fat diet imposed by my well- meaning mother.....I was an HS athlete and it killed my stamina), belief that more more more = better, gave up form for speed, etc. And I paid the price through a couple of mid-level injuries and 2 major illnesses. But, I discovered your videos at the most perfect time as I'm building myself back up. Not so sure I can get the mass I'd like anymore, but whatever makes me strong is good in my book! Thank you for being so approachable and on target.

put simply , he means how hard you workout vs how long you workout.
as he said , increasing your effort and decreasing time is better for gains

    • @MongolTier7
      @MongolTier7 7 років тому +3

What he means is you either do 20 reps of 50kg or 5 reps of 70kg, you don't do 20 reps of 70kg. I pulled those numbers out of my ass btw just to give you the right idea :)

      Quality versus quantity:
      - I just did 1000 reps...with the lightest dumbbells that I could find because i didn't want people to see me straining.
      - I just did 8 reps with the heaviest dumbbells that my body could lift because I don't care what people think about the way i look when i'm repping.
