I used to be a faller in my younger days. Cut mostly fir, alder, hemlock, cedar. Not so sure about all of your Technique's, but it works ok for you.

Fine job of sawing! That is a big/powerful and very sharp saw!
When I was cutting logs in the winter days, starting at the break of daylight, I would say to myself, "I hate to do it but I have to"....that was remove my heavy coat because I knew I'd be very cold for a few moments/minutes. But after walking 100yds to the first tree, starting the saw and felling it, I never was cold the remainder of the day....lol. The coveralls were the very next item removed after 15-30 minutes of work.
Operating a chainsaw, pouring concrete, roofing and flagging traffic are the 4 "hottest jobs" I ever did....in that order.

Isn’t the tip part of the “kickback zone” on a chainsaw? I was under the impression you only use the tip on a pocket cut and then only after you are sure the tip cannot hit hard material.

Beech, gum or buckeye is my guess haha. In my uncles pallet mill buckeye was always bad to do that

You mentioned that these had been laying around the log yard for truck decks. Were you waiting for enough to cut or was there some other reason?

Just to have! Usually a trailer deck order eats up one decent sized log. So we have several in case several come in at once, which happens

🕉 Satyameva Jayate: Truth and Honesty and Reality is you have it a number of points that are Technically BAD ways / Methods that you need to notice - The ends trunks / logs that you have placed over the far end of the ‘CUT’ are INCORRECT and potentially contributing to your chainsaw being jammed… Look at the video again and notice the ‘scurry-pinching’ as the. Fulcrum point of the weight is catching or jamming your saw… Next to turn over the log with the saw stuck is absolutely stupid… This MUST be done!… You are keen to demonstrate but you appear to overlook the BAD habits that you have acquired… If I see my Sawmill staff do any of these bad steps they get to hear my thoughts pretty quick,,, By he way I own my sawmill in India and what you are doing will NOT be allowed by anyone that works for me!… Satyameva Jayate
