Great film. It was really well done. I appreciate the “out of stater” that show respect by sharing their great experience in our state without divulging every detail about where exactly they hunted. You came, you worked hard, and you had success in our mountains. I saw nothing but love and respect in your methods. With the rise of the “social media hunter”, there have been many things that have hurt the Hunter’s way of life in many areas and states. But, Josh you are sharing your experience in the right way. I thank you for that. I’m a fan👍🏽
Man, thanks so much for that Ted. Really appreciate this. I sure try to not divulge too much. I still believe in "secret hunting spots" and self preservation. Wild places and being alone are precious. Good luck out there man. 👊🏼
That is a stud deer for that area, way to work harder than the rest of them. Good job and congrats
Thanks Austin. That hike sure was worth it!
Well done brotha! They don’t get much prettier than that in my book. Mature, heavy dark horned, tall beauty deer. Stay true, stay gritty, God Bless
Such a cool deer! Thanks man!
I really appreciate the music 🎶, filmography and story telling of this hunt film.
My youngest brother, my Dad and I went to Idaho for a rifle mule deer 🦌 in 2019 (sadly I didn’t have a tag 🏷) and my brother shot a 3x4 on the 3rd day of the hunt in early October. 418 yards with his 270 Win.
He basically said that the only way he saw him was that the deer 🦌 got up to stretch.
Thank you bud. That is awesome!
@@DialedinHunter you are welcome 🙏 Josh. It was fun, even without a tag 🏷 I got to see where he shot him and helped pack him out even though I didn’t have the proper footwear since I mostly brought rubber boots to fish 🎣 in and small game hunt. Nothing like fresh grouse mixed in with potatoes 🥔 and onions 🧅 and cheese 🧀 inside a tortilla, except some fresh backstraps of course.
Great work Josh and Dillon! Awesome buck and great work on the film. Congrats to you both.
Thanks Hunter!
Love your podcast brotha!!
@@DialedinHunter yea man!
@@ozziejones9834 thanks brother. I appreciate that.
@@thehuntersquestwhuntermcwa3475 hey when do you think you will release the spring bear series with mark livisea and Brian call. Did you go into the frank yet for your deer and elk hunt? Your Montana hunt should be good.
Hell yeah man I loved this. Idaho is a special place indeed. Love it
That's the truth. Thanks for watching!
this is the first hunt video I've watched of yours, and I have to say you have my respect. Giving thanks and expressing gratitude for your harvest touched my heart in ways nothing has in a while. I am a Native American hunter from the pnw and coming from my ancestors and me, thank you for showing respect, absolutely stunning video. I hope my first hunt this coming November goes as well as yours did.
I so appreciate that, and thanks for reaching out. Being out there is a gift. The animals are a gift. And I wish you the best of luck on your first hunt!
@@DialedinHunter Pack in light, pack out heavy!
Wow. Just wow. Such a cool film! I'm taking notes on your film. The shots and editing are spot on.
Kind words. Thank you very much. 👊🏼
Loved the sound track and a super great video. really enjoyed that the amount of dialog you had and the camera work: made me feel like I was the one behind you the whole way. Keep up the good work, perfect for sitting and sipping
Joel, thanks so much for checking out the film. Glad you liked it!
Yes, this is a great video. I just bought your book. Looking forward to learning from it. Thanks.
Thanks James! Hope you like it and good luck this year! 👊🏼
Solid film Josh. Enjoyable to watch, insightful conclusions that you narrate invites us as hunters to know what's in your head and how you feel about the hunt. Great film!!!
Thanks Kendall. Very much appreciated, and glad you enjoyed it! 👊🏼
Great buck, congrats to you
Thanks Joe! 👊🏼
What an awesome buck! Great film and story.
Thanks Barry! Heck of a hunt and one I won't soon forget. 👊🏼
Another great show Josh. Really like what Dillan gets done behind the camera as well. Such a great team, I can't wait for more film from this duo.🤞🏼 Oh yeah, congrats on your buck!
Very much appreciated Brian. Thanks for taking the time to watch. I'm excited for more adventures with Dillon too!
Hey me too! Thanks Brian, I really appreciate that.
Doing my first western hunt this year with my boys. I have backpacked for many years but never was able to combine a few of my passions. I connected with your message of being present in the hunt, not just the kill. Enjoy everything around you. Take in the beauty of it. Embrace the suck! Congrats on the great buck! Got another sub too! 😉
That's exciting! Best of luck to you and thanks! 👊🏼
Fantastic job all the way around. Fostering the stoke for sure!
Thanks for that! Gotta love a good adventure.
Incredible video.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Great work Josh!! Beautiful country and a beautiful Buck to add, keep up the killer work!
Thanks Kyle. Hope your season is going well. 👊🏼
One of the best hunt films I’ve seen. Also very inspiring. Awesome job!
Man! Thanks so much for that. Really glad you liked it. Good luck out there. 👊🏼
Fantastic video and a blessed hunt, for sure! A lot of hard work (packing/hiking in, glassing, waiting, packing/hiking out). Well done!
Thanks! 👊🏼
Great film! You made it look pretty easy! Great looking country too, I see why so many folks love hunting Idaho.
Thanks! Oh, the country is stunning. And sometimes things just work out, haha.
Great vid as always Josh!
Thanks buddy!
Great video ! The hunt was great , the videography was awesome . It's crazy how much and how long we can anticipate a hunt then it's over in 1 day !
You can say that again! I snagged that tag LAST DECEMBER! Thanks for watching buddy!
Using your tent linner is how I make sure when I get back to my sleeping bag its empty till I get in it
Smart!
Nicely done. thanks for sharing
Thank you Roger!
Great video my dude. Goals.
Much appreciated Kyle 👊🏼
The perfect video, almost too good to be true. I appreciate you thanking the animal for its life. I respect you very much for the hunter that you are.
Sincerely, Ruben from Fresno California.
Thank you Ruben. 🙏🏼
Your video’s hype me up man! Hoping to tag my first soon!
Love to hear it! Best of luck man. It's gonna happen!
Truly enjoyed..great commentary..truly inspired..👊🏼

Appreciate that man! Fun hunt.
Great work man!! Heavy buck !
Thanks! He's a looker for sure. Very stoked with him.
Awesome episode buddy
Thanks Matt!
This was awesome man. All the way around from your stalk to the videography. Congrats on a great Muley, hope I can get out West one day and experience this.
Thanks so much! It's an adventure for sure.
As always, solid work brother! 🤙🏼
Thank you Josh! 👊🏼
I really enjoy everything about your films man. Music, story telling, all of it is awesome. I live in Idaho. Heading out for mid October cow elk next week.
That means a lot Benjamin. Thank you for the kind words. And best of luck out there! 👊🏼
Much respect! Great gentleman, great hunt, even greater attitude. Thank you so much!!!
Much gratitude! Thanks for watching. Such a cool hunt. Best of luck out there. 👊🏼
Great video, love the way you tell the story. Congrats
Thank you Nathan 🙏🏼
That’s a nice rifle
That was nicely put together.
Who’s doing the filming?
I was listening to that part about you talking about fast pace in the city and appreciating being able to and having to slow it down when you get into the woods, because you mentioned those things come up every now and then, and it’s a lot of patience and waiting, so you have to be patient and slow and change that mental working of your mind and body from the city to being out in the wilderness and I completely understand that.
That bag LOOKS heavy 😄
Man…. Those are some steep cliffs you trudge on.
I definitely give you credit for what you do because you do it with just you and whoever’s filming, for days or maybe even a couple of weeks at a time, so far away from home out in the wilderness.
Your home is essentially where you have to make it when you feel it’s time to set up camp, and you’re just out there with your supplies doing it far away from home and everything you have on you and your instance for what you know what to do with what you’re doing. 👍
Thanks dude! Dillon Flint is the fella filming.
Sweet front fork on that one side!
Such rad character right there!
Awesome hunt and amazing video. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Justin! Glad you liked it! 👊🏼
Nice work , nice buck !
Thanks! Super happy with him!
Hats off congrats awesome shot way to go Josh keep posting sir 🦌🤝
Thanks Armando! 👊🏼
Great film🙌
Thanks buddy!
Great video keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
Thanks James! 👊🏼
Congratulations on another great buck and video. You made it look easy, except that pack out looked pretty heavy. Lol. I’ve enjoyed the progression of your videos. Thanks for the entertainment and encouragement
Haha! Thanks Eric. Yeah, the packout was heavy! Appreciate the support man. Thanks for taking the time to watch the films. 👊🏼
Nailed it, it was heavy. Good thing Josh was able to smooth out some clips. These legs were shaking pretty good. Haha
Congrats man! Great buck 👊🏻
Thanks! I sure do like him!
I've heard bears out in Idaho, Mt, WY, hear a gunshot and think its essentially a dinner bell. I've heard they know entrails will be on the ground and become aggressive. Did you see any of that? Nice vid.
Hey, thanks for taking the time to watch the film. No, I didn't see any of that. I actually didn't see any bear sign where I was. It didn't strike me as a very bear dense spot.
It's true but only for certain parts of each state. Not a lot of bears where I live in WY, but travel about 100 miles north of me and you better be packing a pistol and spray. Really depends on where you are. Typically the closer to Yellowstone you are, the better the odds of running into a grizzly or wolves right after shooting something. Black bears usually aren't much of a threat anywhere.
Great footage and helluva shot!!! What a buck!
Thanks! Good times all around.
Great looking buck. Great shooting. Well put together video. Congrats on your hunt! Subscribed!
Thanks Aaron! I appreciate that. 👊🏼
Very cool hunt. Thanks for sharing. Where’d you get that Nalgene holder?
Solid hunt nice work!
Thanks! Was a blast all the way around.
You earned it that was a cool buck congrats. Great job on the film it turned out great. You got a new sub.
Much appreciated!
Nicely done! Always entertaining!🙌
Hey, thanks! 👊🏼
Great video and nice buck! Too bad the film isn't 30 min longer.
Hey, thanks so much! I agree! Haha!
Loved the video man. The music blend was spot on. Good job on the buck. I take it the K4 5000 performed well? Thanks again, Mike
Oh, thanks so much! Yes, the k4 was AWESOME!
Best vid yet, Josh! Loved it! That looks like a new version of the Exo pack...don’t recall them having molle connectors on the shoulder straps. You testing a new model? Reason I ask is I’m in the market for a new pack for next year, but if Exo has a new model in the works, I’ll wait till it comes out before I order. Thanks!
Congrats on a beast!
What is your setup?
Rifle,caliber and scope?
Thanks George! That is a Nosler Mountain Carbon Rifle(M48) in 27 Nosler. Scope is Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22x50. Shooting Nosler Trophy Grade 150 grain Accubond.
Great hunt and video, what caliber and rifle did you use
Thanks Gary. That was a Nosler Mountain Carbon Rifle in 27 Nosler.
@@DialedinHunter thanks my brother
Epic! Thanks for sharing, very well done. Random question, what jacket is that around the 8 minute mark?
Thanks Jason! That would be the Brooks Down Sweater from First Lite.
Great Video! I love the scenery and the appreciation of nature! Idaho has some really great hunting! FYI: Using a Hawk Crawler game cart has allowed me to move my wilderness camp more easily from site to site. Many Idaho units have great access via trails making the use of game carts more beneficial. I appreciate your old-school backpack trip experience, but we don't need to work so hard anymore.
Thanks! I love me some Idaho. That's awesome about the cart.
GREAT HUNT!! We just got back, 4 of us from the F.C.! 4 dudes, 4 bucks! We live up north! Love the area! Great film! New sub! What rifle is that? And caliber?
Love to hear it Kenny! Congrats and thanks so much. Rifle is a Nosler Mountain Carbon and caliber is 27 Nosler.
Just watched Absolut and decided to watch this one too. Another great video! Another stellar buck, but this one had so much character! I have to ask, though. On the shot, I didn't see hearing protection. Are you wearing a real low profile version?
Awesome man! Super pumped on him. Love that buck, haha. Yes, wearing low profile ear protection. Just the lil foam ear buds.
On the shot at the deer, I didn't have any ear protection. I probably should, haha.
Awesome hunt, really enjoyed your book as well! Just curious, what do you think the estimated weight of all your gear is when packing in to your camp at the beginning of your hunt?
Hey, Justin! Thanks for that and stoked you enjoyed the book. Probably about 45 pounds at the start.
@@DialedinHunter love your content, thanks for the reply! Hope the upcoming season goes well!
@justinmorrall5958 Very much appreciated! Hope your season goes well too. Getting PUMPED!
What cartridge and barrel length on the rifle? Looks like a sweet little hammer
It's a hammer for sure! 27 Nosler and a 24" barrel.
Amazing job! What is the name of the pack you used?
Thanks! Exo Mountain Gear
How are you liking the argali tent?
Love it man. Super easy to set up, spacious, and has held up great to the weather I've encountered this year.
@@DialedinHunter I’ve got the 4p and like it too. Haven’t actually backpacked it yet but hopefully in about a week and a half… I’ve spent a few nights in it though. It’s my first single wall so still learning the condensation thing…
Is this anywhere near the salmon river? headed to unit 14 tomorrow
It is not. Good luck out there! I hear they're movin!
I also have a question about your water bottle holder. Is that a prototype or is it commercially available for sale? I’m looking for a separate water bottle holder for my Exo Mtn pack.
Will be available through Exo!
Great buck. Nice video. Good mix of the landscape and mountains and your monolog. Too many hunting videos that are just selfies. Sorry, but I don't want to see your mug.
I can agree with you there Terry. It’s a part of it, but largely overdone in the hunting space in my humble opinion. “Don’t tell me, show me”
Enjoyed your video. I don't say that often. YES, I do know how hard hunting is, without recording it 😉👍🏽✊🏽
Filming definitely adds another layer to the whole thing. Thanks Chris! 👊🏼
