You do everything the other way around , as if the machine is calm . On the Oregon machine, according to the instructions, the offset by 10 degrees is performed vice versa

6:55 You can see that the angle of the wheel is not even close to the angle of the tooth. Tilt has been set incorrectly.

He says he has already sharpened the chain at 55 / 30° and he shows those settings on the grinder. But when he shows the wheel against the tooth it's way off. The reason is that the tilt (+ or - 10°) is set incorrectly.@@MickelMillard

And that right there explains why my saw cuts to the right on all the blades I have sharpened.

Clean the bar channel and saw after your done for the day. Air compressor and a hacksaw blade for the channel works the best.

He's got it right .its you people are getting the tilt wrong . he's using a 629 . there is a difference between the 520 and the 620 when setting the tilt angle . if you was using the 520 to sharpen the chain the right hand cutter you'd push the bottom of the device away from you . which moves the table toward you. Right away . you are using the term wrong the 620 is quite different in its make up . to do the right hand cutter on the 620 you move the table towards you . The 620 of s a different animal than the 520. I have 3 of the machines . if I'm doing a 3/8 chisel chain I use the 520 its much easier to adjust the tilt angle . if it s a quarter inch chain I use the 620 . there is no tilt for a 1\4 inch chain . A chisel chain is the only chain you adjust the tilt angle for. You all are confusing the term when you say ( right away ) its the bottom of the table you move away from you which brings the top of the table towards you and this is with the 520 and 420 grinder. I use a 420 series grinder to do rakers . personally I also use a CBN wheel on the teeth. And a pink stone for rakers . you really need to think about what the top angle is when your sharpening . it don't even make sense to say this man is wrong after you look and consider what your doing. He's got it right its you all that are wrong. Call Oregon and ask an expert himself . And I also change the wheel direction as he does also accordingly .
