Same with Norwegian basically. C slightly different, but L pretty similar. Only 7 letters (CHJQUWY) I would say are different enough to not say are the same. Kinda amazing.
@@Whiskypapa Yeah, I wonder how many languages share such a thing. I know that Japanese is also damn similar when it comes to pronunciation (however since hiragana characters equal of one to three characters in our alphabet, it is hard for japanese people to pronounce our germanic words - besides that pitch accent is a thing). And while they imported many words from german (especially medical words after japanese people visited Germany to learn something about medical stuff), they got their writing from China way earlier than that and well the language itself is even older and I haven't found something about some kind of major pronunciation change.
I think this lesson is important. Some Indonesian friends asked me what motor bike I own. I said, "Bi, Em, Double-You." They looked at me, not understanding. But one man understood, and he said, " Bi, Em, Way". "Ah!" they said and nodded.
I have a feeling this is going to be hard for me to learn, because I'm so used to the English alphabet, and it's just different enough that I will forget it's not the same. E is pronounced like A and I is pronounced like E! How am I going to keep that straight?

Almost 20 years i cannot pronounce indonesian alphabets however my mandarin pronounciation is better than indonesian but actually my mother tongue is indonesian.
Basically, bahasa Indonesia doesn't have its own script, we use latin alphabet But, bahasa indonesia is derived from malay language, this language use jawi script (arabic script for malay language) . But yeah, many Indonesian local languages has their own distinct scripts
Indonesia is made up from hundreds of ethnic groups, it's not an ethno-state so it doesn't have it's own script. Btw Ojo dibandingke doesnt use the indonesian language. Instead it uses the Javanese language (regional language comes from Java island)
Except for small differences when it comes to C and L and completly different pronounciation for Q, V, W, X and Y, it's pretty much like in german.
