    I got a little cutting board with a little spikey area for grating wasabi. My Japanese friend gave it to me. Your garlic grate comes close to it!

    So descriptive. Thanks for sharing. Does it taste minty-spice at all? Like spear mint or peppermint?

      Thanks, no it doesn't have any minty spice, it's more of an instant heat on the tongue.

    I feel sorry for horse radish, being called "fake wasabi" :( lol I say someone claim that the professional chefs would grate from the top, appearantly that's the best part of the stem (I wouldn't know, but maybe something for you to try and see)

      That's interesting to hear, I'll try the top and bottom together next time I harvest a stem and see if there is much difference in taste.

    Interesting... I always thought the real wasabi would be much more pungent than the imitated ones.
