Hikies are great too, there elastic band laces so you don't have to tie em
One time I was bombing down this parking garage and hit an indent that caused me to lose balance and I just slid down the garage on one knee. My shoe lace on that shoe was completely destroyed.
I ended up using the lace from my jacket as a quick repair.
For sure always have extra shoe laces, and last resort, your jackets hoodlace.
Number 1 should be commitment: Commitment to tricks and also skateboarding in general
The portable charger is a must have, I use a phone case that also charges the phone
I always bring a change of clothes (t-shirt and jeans) incase the ones I'm wearing get completely trashed, its better to have something and not need it to need something and not have it

I do BMX and my friend taught me this. Always carry a shirt on you,if somebody calls the cops on you for trespassing for a nice spot or just in general doing any dumb things around the neighborhood you can change your shirt

@@catalan500_8 it's good that your using a cruiser, but if you ever wanna try professionally skating you should get a regular board, cruisers are good for getting comfortable with skating but not so good for doing tricks.

I've been on a skateboarding UA-cam binge (I'm 32 and I want to start skating) and this video is by far the coolest one I've watched.
do it man, im 42 and im getting back into it, havent skated in 20 years, got a whole new set up otw, you can get quality product for a good price now days, little bit of research goes a long way, i plan on posting a video when everything shows up. and this is a cool video, i have never seen that trick at the end before, i counted 5 flips on the way down lol. crazy....

Grip gum is great especially for me, I have clear grip tape and a sick design on my top deck, so for me it's great
saunvs i’m getting clear grip tape and do you have any advice on getting mud on your board? it doesn’t happen often but i have a muddy yard so if i step in it it gets on my current grip tape (which is black) so it doesn’t matter much but what about clear?
• cleopatra • personally I just use the grip gum for the dirt and other things that get on my shoes. But if your thinking of getting clear grip tape I advise you take good care of it, (unless if you don’t mind the dirt on your grip tape).

Another way to prolong your shoes life is to get a price of rubber inner tube from a bike and put holes in it and when you lace up your shoes tie the patch on. I've been using it and it helps so much

Before wax we just grinded a curb over and over until it had a coating of metal or we board slid and tail slid it until the paint of the board made it slick. Honestly, I have no clue how we grinded and frontside slappied some of the stuff we did. Pure speed and force. I still don't carry wax. If I find a fresh ledge I just hit it over and over until it slides. Old man style.

For anyone who doesn't know, grip gum is the same thing as a belt sander cleaning stick. Most hardware stores sell them for under 10 bucks and they work great

I have the rubber grip tape from DKL (totally worth it), I just clean it with a damp or wet cloth. pretty easy. Wireless speaker is nice with your friends is nice, but when your by yourself you become the guy with the annoying music. Great list!
