The amount of people that walk into a tattoo shop just to ask "could you draw this for me?" Or "could you do this?" Pulling up some random lettering or simple pinterest design is mind boggling...

You should automatically assume that a professional artist in a tattoo shop can absolutely do linework and lettering.. im not talking about asking someone if they can do a good tattoo. In taling about simple things like pinterest linework and lettering, just to ask if your ability allows that, is insulting... also, most artists will not sit and draw something for hours for someone "just to see" if they will like it. The etiquette there is, to look at that artists portfolio, and if you like their stuff, you put a deposit down for something you want. Not to ask them to spend hours of their already very little spare time working on something for you just for the hell of it. Some drawings take hours if not days to do for some stuff. Asking to draw that shit up for the fun of it with no pay or deposit just to see if you will like it is just as big of an insult...

I'm a beginner in skateboarding and when I was at the skate park about to do my first drop in someone yelled "JUST DO IT IT'S NOT THAT HARD" I was literally about to do my scariest thing and I got distracted. Anyways when I turned around to see who yelled I saw that was some weird kid who doesn't even skateboard. I was so annoyed.

I just learned how to kickflip a couple weeks ago. Last week I was practicing manuals in a parking lot when someone drove by and said “Hey! Do a kickflip!” As they looked over to their friend and snickered. I got on my board expecting to mess it up but I actually landed it first try. I guess it’s not that big of a deal but for someone who just learned how, I felt pretty accomplished.

I “skateboarded” back in middle school..
but what got me into skating for real was borrowing someone’s longboard in college. This was back in 2007. This single thing changed a lot about my life. I still ride longboards, but eventually branched out into skateboarding because I wanted more versatility riding my board around town. I always snowboarded growing up, but learning to longboard and skate made me much better on the mountain.
For having only been to mountains a dozen times to ski, I feel like I’ve had years of experience.
The only one of these I've been asked is "do a kickflip" and I nailed it...... Almost.
Someone yelled at me to do a kickflip and then I told him to do a kick flip, He tried, didn't know how to do it, and then walked home in depression

There was one time not that long ago when someone said they used to skate and asked to see my board but they were actually pretty cool about it and did a backside 180 (which yeah isn't that hard of a trick but still) but they were really cool about it

well my friend, wax is for making street spots easier to skate, especially when doing grinds and slides. if you're street skating, its pretty important, but if you're skating a park, there really should be no need for it. sorry if you didn't care to know this, but i just figured i'd respond just in case you wanted to know :)

@@lunar607 ahh yes, that is also a very good and common use for wax as well. if you like your trucks loose, then thats a good idea. for me, i like mine medium loose (loose enough to carve when bombing hills and to not need to tik tak when i come out of tricks, but not so loose that i get wheel bite) so i dont use wax for anti wheel bite purposes

I love filming people, but this question can be annoying if they aren't able to do the line pretty consistently. What I do is ask what they are doing and to see them give it a couple of tries. If they are clearly gonna land it pretty quickly, I am down. Otherwise, that's gonna be a no from me, dog.

One of my favorite memories skating was being on a longboard with a kicktail and some due yelled "Do a kickflip" and I did one on my longboard
Typically with other sports, if some older person says they used to play the sport, the response is usually "oh fr? What position did you play?" and the conversation goes from there. Never seen anyone get annoyed by it before

I’m in the process of learning how to do downhill skateboarding, so I have a longboard. But the rate at which I get told to “do a kick flip” is comical. Practicing my tucks down a road? Do a kick flip. Advanced carving in my old high school parking lot? Kick flip! And then occasionally I get chill people who actually yip and cheer as I ride past at however fast I’m going.
One day I went to my local park to skate at the basketball court, and there were these two guys playing basketball. I am still working on ollies, I was just trying to practice. And guess what? When they saw me struggling they said, “do a kickflip” and laughed. I almost left crying cause they started to make fun of me. Now I am really scared to skate in front of people.
Two days ago... I was practicing how to grind (I'm a n00b) and a kid with a scooter asked me, while holding my board just before I was going to the box to try to grind....if I wanted to play a game of scooter. Not only he wanted to play S-K-A-T-E with a guy who was clearly focused, he thought I was going to do what... a heel flip and he would translate it in a tail whip? JEEZ!

awhile ago, I just got my first skateboard at my local skateboard shop, and almost as soon as I left the shop, some like 8 or 9 year old kid asked me to do a trick, when he could clearly see no marks on the board.

I literally just got home from football practice and I had like 4 people tell me to do a kick flip
I just started skating this month, and two people have already asked me to do a kick flip, and I just learned how to Ollie.
the little 9 yr olds trying to impress their friends ask me "how do you skate bro, I bet I can olie". proceeds to jump up and down on the board and slip out and smack their head on the floor then blame me and act like I hurt them.
