This skatepark seems to almost be the perfect park in that it is hidden, obviously not the best designed park, but it has enough. If it was a little bit bigger and maybe some concrete things to skate it would be that mich closer to perfection. Also you make skating look very easy.

If I were him I would have brought some quickcrete up there and fixed the rough patches

My first ever skateboard was a zoo York complete for $45. So just go that route if you're a beginner. It was on sale if I remember correct. Now I ride an 8.5 Powell with Indy trucks, bone stf 54s and bones reds bearings. I don't use mob grip though. It's too sticky for my fancy.
Shaping up to be a real chad, then.
Can't do much better than Powell for board quality, but I'd recommend you try Ace trucks next with some Spitfire Formula Four Classics. Insane responsiveness on turns and the best grinds I've ever felt on a truck. That is, unless you're still riding old made in USA Indy's - those things are sick. As for Mob, you're dead on. Jessup is king for a lighter grit grip.

I recommend getting a Honda Civic. The cars themselves aren’t expensive, especially used. They last for 300,000 miles usually, and are very cheap and easy to repair. They are amazing on gas mileage as well. I 1000% recommend the Honda Civic. Keep killing it dude

in philly there is a place called fdr park it’s very cool and has 360 bowls and mega ramps search it up and you will love what you see

I started learning on a Walmart Tony hawk board. Snapped the tail before I really learned any tricks. Think I was trying to manual. Now a friend bought me a board just like this one and I’m getting my Ollie down. But glad to know that the struggle is partially the board it’s self lol. I have to tighten the trucks every time I ride

@@christianthompsonjr.1890 yeah get a new board asap. My new board feels way better for tricks and riding in general. You can feel the difference. But you get what you pay for. I paid about $180 for the complete set up. Deck, grip tape, trucks, wheels, bearings. And the guy at the store set it all up for me.
Same with me I tried to Ollie on a MADD Gear skateboard and the tail just cracked after like doing maybe 50-100 ollies

To be honest the $40 board didn't look to bad for beginners. When I was first learning I loved cruiser boards with loose trucks and big soft wheels, I just found them way easier to ride that is probably why people gave it good reviews. Probably don't want to do much more then learn to push on it though 🤣

Just landed my first Ollie today.
For any one struggling, what work for me was sincronizing the kick with the jump, and jumping from de board just with my right foot, poping it and kicking it, make sure you poop good, ALSO REALLY IMPORTANT, have your shoulders parallel with the board, this change the entire game for me.
I practice 2 weeks straight for 1 hour daily, I practice the Ollie before but no consistently. Practice everyday and don't be afraid.
the thing that took the longest for me was getting the timing down. my ollie still isn't that high, but experimenting with the timing to tweak it just right was key. also ninja-ing as much as possible.

Make sure your shoulders are parallel w/ the board, and that your not leaning back
Try pulling your legs up really high and committing your probably won’t land it but it will help you learn to get your feet on

David Parra the town is called west New York right next to the river
In smyths we have the tony hawk signature series skateboards which cost £30 each (or around $38) and they are pretty good. They include abec 5 bearings, a 8.0 deck, shaped trucks with decent tuning (you can actually tighten and loosen them) and around jessup level griptape. It comes with riser pads and 52mm 100 duro wheels. The deck i also found to be extremely strong, i attempted to snap it in the middle multiple times and it prevailed. Whenever someone asks me what board they should get if they are just starting, i recommend this to them. Of course you could go for a cal-7 skateboard, for the same price but i havent tested it out. I would probably in the future though. Nice video, btw!
Edit: The cal 7 boards have actually increased to $50. Probably a good buy still.
