  • In this video I show you how I shampoo, condition and style my hair all while in the shower!! I use LUS Brands Step 1 and 2 for my shampoo and conditioner and Kinky Curly Products, Knot Today leave-in and the Original Curling Custard as my stylers. I use the Roping technique for my application of stylers so that I don’t disrupt my curl pattern. Then I show you how I finger curl, leaving my hair with great definition

    "Real texture hair"? "Making curly hair out of wavy"? Seriously people?
    If shaming someone's curl pattern is your way of feeling good about yours, than go ahead. She is JUST sharing her method that might help some wavies/curlies to get the most out of their hair. If this isn't helpful to you doesn't mean that it won't help anyone else.

    i had to laugh at the carpel tunnel joke 😂 im disabled and can only use 1 hand and what do ya know! i got carpel tunnel. just recovering from surgery now. i couldn't ever do praying hands (cause you need 2) but the roping technique is something i can do, so thanks for that ❤ that helps me a lot! all the scrubbing and scrunching hurts so bad post-surgery so im taking it easy for now but when its fully healed, im trying this method!

    This was seriously so helpful to see! I feel like my hair is similar to yours, and I have been using some of the techniques you showed but it was more haphazard than intentional, so I'm curious to see what results I'll get if I try to be more structured about it. I also have not tried finger curling so I'm very interested to see what that does for my hair! Thanks again for putting this together!

      It’s my pleasure. Just a heads up, the first time I finger curled I looked like I had dreadlocks and no volume. Took my hair some time to get used to it, and for me to get used to the amounts of product I use ☺️

    I'm a natural twirler- a bad habit- who knew it could help? Been air drying am still in transition so had quite a lot of bulk chopped off so it's your length at back but more jaw cheekbone length with some even shorter bangs that promote curl up front. My dog chewed my diffuser... saving for a Dyson supersonic now. I'm going to try dry it without the diffuser attatched and scrunch and hold kind of thing. You helped a lot with your shower routine. Thanks!

    I never know which direction to finger coil in.. I've heard people say you have to go in the direction of each individual curl.. I have mostly 2c hair and I get so frustrated trying to figure it out which direction when it's wet that I ended up giving up...I'm going to try your method of going in the same direction!! Thanks for your video!!! 😍👍

    I’m glad i saw you using the curling custard because I do the same thing! I know LUS wears you only need their product but I really like how gel casts help define and form my curls, then when dry I just scrunch it out. I feel like without my hair is disturbed a lot by moving around before it’s dried, so the cast helps keep in place while drying.

    • @curlynfab5120
      @curlynfab5120  5 років тому

      I don’t, before I diffuse I sometimes squish my hair with a cotton t shirt (I never use a towel to avoid frizz). I only do it when I’m in a rush. When you squish in the kinky curly gel most of the extra water leaves too

    • @curlynfab5120
      @curlynfab5120  5 років тому +4

      I do! It can happen for a few reasons: not clarifying often enough, using products with glycerin when it’s cold and wet outside, scrunching out the crunch before your hair is completely dry, or not protecting your curls while you sleep. Usually that’s when I get frizz

    Isn’t that shower cap satin lined? Is that ok? I’m going to try the technique soon! Very excited!

    Do you ever let your hair fully air dry and not use a diffuser and if so what result would you have?
    I just came upon your insta and videos and your are inspiring me to focus more on my curls to hopefully control the result. Your hair is so beautiful... I'm ordering the products to try it out on my hair. I'm worried though that the diffusing will take a long time. I'm a momma of 4 so time is very precious but if what you are saying is true is that results last than the time devoted initially is worth it. I will maybe try roping... The hair around my face tends to be the worst in curl but I'm worried I will rope it in the wrong curl direction - did you experience that? Sorry for the questions I'm just very excited and you had said it was a journey so exactly what was the transition like, just you hair accepting the changes you were making?! Thank you again for posting and sharing your hair story!! 😊

      @curlynfab5120  5 років тому

      Thank you for your comment ☺️. If I air dry, I get no volume, and my hair would just be a light, frizzy, wave. You could clip your roots and air dry if that helps you. My transition was pretty rough. You may experience extra oil production on your scalp. Just remember to really cleanse it with your fingers, it will work itself out. I think my transition was under three months, at three months I was loving my new found curls!

    Raking product never works for me bc hair gets more stringy. But not doing it, I can’t even fly distribute the product & end up w too much on top & not any other places. I like the mirror in shower & section off technique. Gonna try it next time.
    I have this custard & have been trying to get it to work. But it flash dries my hair- which ends up causing horrible frizz as it dries.

    • @curlynfab5120
      @curlynfab5120  3 роки тому

      Try using a brush to distribute product instead of raking, it creates awesome curl clumps!
      The custard has aloe which is likely causing the flash drying, the brush will help w the frizz

    This is awesome thank you so much for making this video!! : ) I just have a couple questions to ask. Do you use kinky curly in the winter and other products during the summer time because of glycerin? Also, do you ever use any gels instead of the curling custard to get a cast? Thanks :)

      The custard creates an amazing cast, I just started using KCCC in the winter, I haven’t had the chance to see how my hair reacts in the summer yet

    I wish you would slow down with finger curling it's hard to see exactly how your doing it. I do this to my own hair and it really looks good but, by morning,my hair just looks crazy. What do I need to do to extend the curls for more then one day. It's a lot of work for it not to last.

    Brand spanking new subscriber here. Your hair came out great. I think as part of a regular shower, it's not a ton of time. Drying would be the longest, I think.how long did you wet plop for? If you said, imissed it. I've done the T-shirt a lot, and it doesn't take a long time, but the results aren't the same. I think if I touched it less, my hair might develop those strong coiling curls instead of the somewhat tighter that I get. I mean, it works for me, but I really like your results. I dont have a shower that would let me do it as comfortable as you though, it's small and I am 6ft 1...lol Hard to flip over or lean. I'm still working out my details. I'm embracing my curls more and more, and looking forward to getting a graduated cut to remove my too many layers so my hair might feel thicker.
    Rock on curls of all sizes and textures!

    I saw your youtube videos..in that for the top section of hair you decide as back and front section..you take the back section rope the product then finger curl them ..now my doubt is to that section how do we scrunch in the gel..I don't see that in the video... How do we do that..for the front section of top division too I did not seeing you applying the gel..can you tell me how to do it please

    • @215pcb
      @215pcb 2 роки тому

      Just glaze the gel over your hair then after you’ve glazed it over gently scrunch in the product. The water and leave in will help the gel for easier distribution.
