+Alissa Lyn drinking is bad for you, but I think if you that drunk that can't handle this house, then you probably don't really care where you sleep that night anyway:)
+New York Discoveries It might be a condo and not actually an apartment. It seems many people from NYC call condo apartments. To install the gadgets it probably only costs 25k-30k.
You obviously know nothing about Athens. The riots have never been in the Plaka (acropolis) area but on Syntagma square, a couple kilometers away. You can't even see them from Plaka.
***** It makes a lot of sense. The average price of a square foot in new york city is over $1000. For 30k, you can probably at best get a 6 x 5 closet. The gadgets allow much more utility than a 6x5 piece of space added.
Appearantly "new York" means MANHATTAN these days, no one's heard of Brooklyn or Queens affordable apartments before. Or they know but can't afford a 15 minute train ride to their hectic jobs. sad. I pity New Yorkers that need six cups of coffee just to get through the day.
I love it! However many people live in a small space, because they dont have money... this seems expensive :/ but a very nice inspiration nevertheless!
Jacox I completely agree. My company has built a lot of these elements and we have used some of this hardware. Beyond that, I know where a lot of the other hardware comes from and how much work has to go into this. It is a very expensive space. That said, in New York it might be worth it.
This would work in Manhattan, it’s 2k/mo for a studio around that size anyways LIC is up and coming too with loads of new units wip- so I think this could work
sam M Could work except by a few estimates on this videos these designs and install are brining the cost to anywhere from $45,000 on up... Kind of stupid.
If you are buying plastic crap then it can be that price, but this table is 230cm x 78cm tall x 87cm wide. So no way that is the price of a table that has metal construction and wooden parts.
Oh man i feel so sorry for your bank. Butt i guess they need fill their space in some of their cubicles for people who cant see or feel the deference from a fiber board and oak tree. Even to see the product details and see that is made of inferior materials and smaller size then from original Goliath table that was made and designed in Italy. And i never said that the table was from US and how did you came out with that? Again table is made in Italy and your friends Chinese have stolen the design and made their own inferior copy. If you knew a bit about this product and a bit of knowledge of the industry you could put another thing why is it expensive in US and it is because of shipping from Italy and that in the begging a third party was selling them so they had to put their price to, but you are to occupied sucking at everything that you do and knowing nothing at all about value and commitment of others people hard work.
All of this looks cute and functional but when you start living you'll get tired of constantly shuffling walls, and cabinets, beds and tables. The kitchen is functional only for a yuppie who will be eating out and not cooking in the apartment. Anyone who has even done light cooking will know how the heat and smells of fried oils can overwhelm a room. And that flip down bed will fall apart if you try to hook up on it.
+etamlous It's not like you need to be constantly pulling and pushing, though. I guess the stuff one would use most are the 'office' and obviously the bed. The office only takes such a small amount of space that you would probably have set it up all day anyway. The only downside truly is the bed, but you could also spread your sheets, pillows and blankets over the sofa. As for the rest of the stuff, such as the guest room or the goliath table - that's only something you would use if you get lots of visits. And pulling and pushing 'the guestroom' out once or twice in a year is not such a big deal in my opinion. All in all I think this transforming apartment really uses the available space in a clever way. Especially in NYC, where most of the time you get small apartments for a ridiculously high monthly rent, this might be a way to at least enjoy the tiny room.
Even though im 100% onboard with this. Truth is its way more confortable living in a large space where everything is at hand and all you have to do is walk there, not make it.
Sorry we couldn't make a 4x4 apartment for you to spend the rest of your life in this dude literally has a 1 room apartment like common bruh there's always a critic
The point of living in a tiny apartment is to live cheap, the way to make that work is by applying minimalism to the way you use the space, not by tucking everything away. This apartment cancels out both of those means/ends, since it isn't a tiny apartment compared to others in NYC and it isn't minimal
+TeenWitch1996 Given the diversity in the world, I'm pretty sure there are multiple reasons to live in a tiny apartment. In addition to minimalism, borrowing fold-out solutions from boat design is a good idea. This one apt happens to showcase a dozen ideas in one place. I wouldn't build them all, e.g., I have another place for my bike and would never have a microwave, but am going to try the solar battery and standing desk/office, which would be good anywhere. I imagine the dining table is superexpensive, but it's definitely a good solution to nest it under the kitchen work surface.
You just have to waste at least 30 minutes - cleaning, putting things away, unprepping and then prepping each room "mode" any time you need to do anything you weren't doing previously. This looks great on camera but you would burn out on it within a year. Just because you can squeeze a lot of functions into a small living space doesn't make it automatically more functional if you constantly have to do more busy work besides regular chores. It ceases to function as a LIVING space and you will pay throught the nose for this.
The only thing you really need to do is take your bed down and put it back up. Unless you have guests over. The cooking things you can leave on the counter, you don't have to put them back in the drawer. Technically you can just leave the bed down as well. The wall sliding was only to access the guest room. You technically don't have to do anything if you don't care about it looking neat
There should be a sign NO fat people. This guy's racist towards fat people. A Samoan couldn't walk around in there. In fact when he goes to advertise this apartment to sell he should say fat people do not apply.
I'm the same as you. It's pretty cramp and it feels like you can't even breathe in there but I guess it's not for people who can't handle very small spaces(I'm referring to the bathroom)
"You can see behind closed doors I'm a bit of a mess" *opens a cabinet door to reveal a cabinet more organized than than anything I've owned in my life*
Lol this is probably for when millionaire hipsters decide to go slumming. I'll bet the cost would be prohibitive for anyone who is actually on a budget.
+santonegra Not if you're a carpenter .... you could easily build all this yourself .... But then again I'm a home depot freak who even makes his own furniture from cheap products on discount
i think what he's showing here is a demo or a preview of the micro apartments opening up here soon. which means they'll be like this automatically when you rent. (not everything obviously) but maybe the way the furniture works, storage etc. Ikea is a great place to look its actually not that expensive. I agree with the price tag of those apartments I think they'll go for 2k a month :s
I am big fan of large houses but after watching that, i am just so impressed. Kudos to designers and everyone who effectively managed everything 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
BigboyDownStairs I don't know how big his daughter's bedroom is but 400 square feet would be 10 x 40 go check out a 40 foot mobile home see how big that is that's how big the apartment is his daughter's bedroom is bigger than that

Cool ideas, but how much did you spend? This doesn’t seem practical for the normal person who only has maybe $500 to design and decorate their apartment.
I want to go to NYC when I'm done with collage (living in the Netherlands). Man I would love an apartment like this. But this looks really expensive tough. But this is so awesome!
I lived in a 400 sf studio apartment( 11th and Broadway) with a traditional galley kitchen (unusual in NYC studio) for eight years as a renter. I did as many build in as I could legally do with built in banquette with storage underneath and a Murphy bed - it expanded the functionality and the Murphy bed was comfortable and practical...also at the time (1980's) my rent was $482 .Last year the same apartment (new stove) sold for $435,000.00 with monthly fees of 1100.00. So even a studio in Manhattan is far removed from the reach of the average wage earner...

ONLY 20-30k?!
With that kinda cash one could buy a home in Greece and enjoy a 300 square meter castle with Acropolis view in Athens.

That Goliath table is a brilliant idea. Simple&efficient. Love that.
+Ivana Vujanovic Goliath Table costs $1,200.
+etamlous its 3500-4000$ :)

+159SG it looks like a very decent short term stay on airbnb.
For the amount of money you spend for all that extra custom-made stuff you could have just gotten a bigger place.

Alice Tremain I guess this house works better as an expensive showcase/something to draw ideas from than an actual tiny home
Minimalization of items to the extreme could only cause more expenses in the end as an outcome.

Well the floor always stays the same! So you don't have to clean as much ground every week!
True. But imagine the calories you would burn! This teeny home idea would be applicable for 20-40 ft RVs.

have you seen a one person apartment in japan
I love it and definitely will make people more active. U need to put effort on changing a room to another room which is superb brilliant.

i love tiny spaces! everything small is adorable! i wanna live there :(

Awesome... Very logically designed
What about if you get a chick and she comes over and she says “let’s go to the bedroom”,and he says”we’re in it”, it’s just a turn off and I think it’s a bit stupid to go to this extent, everything feels really cramped
Dope. I’d like to have one of these for when I’m working out of town. It save the hassle of paying for a hotel(company expenses)
but 400sq m is already big...i live in a 100sq m house and its enough
Yumina Ice its 400sq ft not m
The apartment looks sooo cool, I wish I had that kind of apartment, but I have a house lol, but it actually looks small but its bigger after you see its true colors.
this is so cool, minimalism at its finest
that isn't a small space.
The description is very well written. Props 👌

No

that is AMAZING. first class!

Craaaaaazy. I will live in a place like this one day. Efficiency to the max
I couldnt live anywhere that didnt have a bath tub. i would die.
I dont have a bath tub why would you even use one it takes so long to fill it with water
This is probably the coolest house I've ever seen this would be awesome to live in

I love this apartment! I’d be thrilled to live there
genius!!!! im going to steal some ideas. thank you!!
