Her Apartment looks actually amazing, actually lol. Sure it's over run with plants, but the plants are taken care of, it's organized, and not messy or dirty, the apartment actually looks pretty clean, considering all the plants in there. It's really beautiful, the set up she has in there. There might be a tendency to be a hoarder, but she looks like she has her plants under control. I love to see what she can do with a garden. Also how cool would it be to have a bio garden apartment, where the walls have growing living vines and plants you can grow. I love to see someone make that some day.
Patrick Hempe that is true. maybe like a roof apartment. That or have a design that favors more natural light coming into the space. Also I think they have special light lamps people can use for plants too.
I believe she knows how lucky she is. She looks very happy. Most will have a problem with space, but she did it in an appartement, so it s possible du find that liberty for others too.

Plants release carbon dioxide, not oxygen, at night (and use oxygen at night) would significantly enough compromise the breathing air in a bedroom while a person is trying to sleep. so daytime good,,, but night time i dont know
Actually, they do! At day they do a process called Photosynthesis in which they use the energy from light, Water and Carbon Dioxide and tear apart the molecules. In the second step the plants recombine those seperated Carbon, Oxygen, and Hydrogen atoms into sugar. After making the sugar there is some oxygen left over and it is released. Same. We had a huge garden when we lived in Montana. My dad plants so many trees and bushes the backyard will be covered in a few years. But everything I plant dies. 😭
How is growing plants inside an apartment good for the environment? Or respecting the environment? You use a lot of water, you use electricity to run the humidifying machine and the music.
Ernesto....you're watering it too much. LOL. No kidding. Let the soil dry out completely before you water it again. Cacti don't like wet feet. I have one that only blooms every 13 years on the night of the full moon. Lovely purple and cream flowers with a scent unlike anything you've ever smelled before. I've had it for over 40 years. It sits in a pot with very little soil, and the only water it gets is when it rains. Which, here in Florida, is often enough. LOL.
Georgina Sandnes but only in tiny little amounts. humans expel co2 as well and we are okay. a lot of plants take in carbon dioxide and other voc's purifying the air and that's what a lot my plants are. remember, having a lot of plants is safe as long as you dont eat them.
Meghna Bagalkotkar some plants tolerate low light like zz plant, snake plant, peace lily & very low maintenance as well Also snake plant, aloe & etc emits oxygen at night so thats a good thing

omg imagine her getting to know a guy "so I have a slight obsession with something" him: whats that? "I love plants lol... :|...:)" him: oh! thats not bad can I see? *later that night* *walks into apartment* him: oh...my...god...
What? It's not that far fetched that she meets a guy with a similar obsession. Besides, she said it: it's unnatural _not_ to like having plants around. It's only the sick, constrained city life that makes many people believe plants in your home are unnatural.
I dated a celebrity type person. She finally revealed that along with the 2 dogs in her 1br apartment... there were 5 cats -lol. Sweet as could be. But I couldn't make that work :/
Indoor plants only need minimum sunlight. I once left my bamboo plant out on the patio for too long, in direct sunlight and it became sunscorched and died. She's also buying her plants from an indoor nursery so she's only buying plants that thrive in low light. Not all plants like the sun. They are as diverse as humans. Think about it like this. We all (humans) need sunlight to survive but if a white European stayed in the sun for 4 hours straight without protection they'd burn, but the same is not the case for a Black African.
A lot of vibrant tropical type plants thrive in low light, as in the rain forest type environment. Closer to the forest floor, is actually kind of dark due to the shade from all of the huge trees in the canopy. Also, a lot of plants that say bright, indirect light will still grow in a darker house, but not as fast as they could in an ideal environment and won't flower. Kind of surviving versus thriving.
maybe try growing succulents? they are pretty sturdy plants and dont mind a little neglect. i water my cuttings every 10 days and my full sized plants every 14 days. and i give them fertilizer once a month (though during growing season its rec amended to do twice a month if i remember correctly) and my succulents are kept indoors cause i live in an apartment with a community yard so i cant plant outside. i found that the UA-cam channel GardenAnswers is very helpful.
Start with devil's ivy, it's extremely resilient, doesn't care if you water it with chemical laced tap water, totally fine with overwatering, can withstand a little neglect, pest-free, and it's beautiful too.
Dye your hair red and look like you have dyed red hair. It was so unfashioinable for years. Some capricious fashionista seems to have decided _red hair is so kooky and right on trend this season!_ Five minutes ago these girls were pissing themselves laughing to 'Kick a Ginger Day' and mercilessly bullying girls who were actually born with red hair. Trust me on that one.
+Rollo Larson No it doesn't take 30 minutes. She has 500 plants, times 10 seconds per plant equals 5000 seconds, or 83 minutes, at the very least least 60 minutes. It's not only a matter of convenience, she has a lot of spare time, people who work can't water 500 plants manually everyday.
Valken- no, YOU'RE the mistaken one. She doesn't have to water EVERY plant EVERY day. She has them split. Half on one day and the rest the next, or some system.
+Vanessa Smith If they get proper amounts of sun, the soil will dry out everyday. Maybe some plants will survive with little sun, but they won't grow much.

Zoe MacGregor hi, i live in new york city and i can tell you that our water is free because we technically live on a peninsula. We DO get charged on gas, which means that hot water isnt free. Bummer.
Ever walked through an old growth forest? You may have noticed that very little direct sunlight reaches the forest floor, yet there was plenty of ground cover and smaller plants growing below the forest canopy. Many plant species have evolved to thrive in such low light conditions, to the point that placing them in direct sunlight is detrimental to their health, even fatal. If you have a dark apartment you can still grow a forest, it's just a matter of selecting species to suit that environment.
So she will live a long life. There's a study that women who surround themselves with green and spend time in garden and taking care of plants live longer than average and are more healthy. I don't know much about that but read it somewhere.

I lived like this for years, killing every beautiful plant I bought. I thought for sure I had a brown thumb. Turns out I was over watering them. Now I am more careful and my thumb is getting green now! Don't give up.
Cadis Etrama Di Raizel I tried growing some aloes & gave up because they kept dying on me. I got mad & left it alone until I discovered the bastard grew & multiplied a month later....
In the 70's Jerry Baker wrote a book called "Talk to Your Plants". I believe the point is, if you talk to them, they become like your pets, and you will love them and take better care of them. I always ask my plants if they are cold or if they want water.
Two important questions: 1.) how does she not get water everywhere? My plants always get water on the floor. 2.) how does the little light that comes into the apartment sustain all those plants?!
They're probably self containing pots that have a built in water drainage. She must selectively choose plants that dont require full sun, she may even have some special lightbulbs just for them too
So sweet to see another crazy plant lady! Except you’re a lot younger than me. :) Plus I totally agree with you in that you’ll want your own plot of land one day to grow a forrest! Good for you!!!! I have 32 plans (a few really bigs ones) and everyone that visit think it’s unusual. Moving house was tricky as they all had to come with me from Northern Ireland to England, could bare to leave even one behind. I have had one for 20 years and it has been with me in 3 homes in 3 countries :)
Jez Haute Yes, I didn't want to complicate matters, because plants in general produce a surplus of O2, so I didn't see it as relevant to addressing his point. They photosynthesize during the day, storing chemical energy, and respirate when they lack solar energy to run their metabolic processes.
moonasha It doesn't smell of anything, but it is toxic in high enough concentration in the blood. 1% CO2 in the air causes drowsiness and up to 10% is fatal.
Now 4 years ago I stumbled upon this video thinking I was the only plant collector in my country! No, you can put a bottle of water upside down in to the pots. ;) I've done that and the plants were normal when I got back. They just take certain amount of water when they need it.

Even if they are into heavy metal and prefer swimming to being muddy, my children will have memories of plants...they won't have a choice hahahaha!
Same. We had a huge garden when we lived in Montana. My dad plants so many trees and bushes the backyard will be covered in a few years. But everything I plant dies. 😭
I live in a home with plants everywhere, I feel this 🙏🏼
How is growing plants inside an apartment good for the environment? Or respecting the environment?
You use a lot of water, you use electricity to run the humidifying machine and the music.
This is what I aspire to be like when I’m older and have my own house. Already have about 30 plants in my room rn so I’m getting there lol😂

I don’t buy plants, I find them, heal them and replant them at my house. Really cool

Awhh so nice 😍
I wish I could be you. Unfortunately, as much as I love plants, I can't keep even a really healthy plant alive.
interesting flex, but ok.
Meanwhile I can't even keep a cactus alive, A CACTUS!!
Ernesto Estrada don't water it and it'll probably survive lol
Ernesto....you're watering it too much. LOL. No kidding. Let the soil dry out completely before you water it again. Cacti don't like wet feet. I have one that only blooms every 13 years on the night of the full moon. Lovely purple and cream flowers with a scent unlike anything you've ever smelled before. I've had it for over 40 years. It sits in a pot with very little soil, and the only water it gets is when it rains. Which, here in Florida, is often enough. LOL.

Careful at night? I guess you already know plants produce carbondioxide in nighttime when it's dark
Georgina Sandnes but only in tiny little amounts. humans expel co2 as well and we are okay. a lot of plants take in carbon dioxide and other voc's purifying the air and that's what a lot my plants are. remember, having a lot of plants is safe as long as you dont eat them.
How r u managing sunlight ? My plants are not surviving even in a window 🤷♂️

What? It's not that far fetched that she meets a guy with a similar obsession. Besides, she said it: it's unnatural _not_ to like having plants around. It's only the sick, constrained city life that makes many people believe plants in your home are unnatural.
Florin Jurcovici ur taking a joke way too seriously

I’m a little confused how are all of the plants growing that well her house its really dark
Those are indoor plants
It's the music... 😂😂😂
she explains in her channel she has low light or grow lights

God I can't even keep 3 plants alive... I'm so jealous
thank you i will! :)
maybe try growing succulents? they are pretty sturdy plants and dont mind a little neglect. i water my cuttings every 10 days and my full sized plants every 14 days. and i give them fertilizer once a month (though during growing season its rec amended to do twice a month if i remember correctly) and my succulents are kept indoors cause i live in an apartment with a community yard so i cant plant outside. i found that the UA-cam channel GardenAnswers is very helpful.
Start with devil's ivy, it's extremely resilient, doesn't care if you water it with chemical laced tap water, totally fine with overwatering, can withstand a little neglect, pest-free, and it's beautiful too.
Iliana Garcia water them every day morning and night and make sure they have plenty of sunshine

Let them keep their hair dye,go natural.Well said aerialkate.
But how does she keep them all alive??? I have two plants and it takes all my energy to keep them alive.
you just have to use the right fertilizer and usually the right fertilizer is super expensive
Some plants are easier to take care of than others
Samasta lol
She was making a comparison with that,.
I asked the same question. my pkants never last very long and i have lots of natural light.....in some corners her apt is very dark. Amazing@
Your obsession is not borderline, its beautiful!
can you imagine when she's out of town and someone has to do the watering
She must have a contact in the fire department.
Poor design, should automate all the watering. Takes only 1 day, as opposed to 1 hour per day to water.
+Rollo Larson
No it doesn't take 30 minutes.
+Vanessa Smith
If they get proper amounts of sun, the soil will dry out everyday. Maybe some plants will survive with little sun, but they won't grow much.
The air in her apartment is really clean! I love this space, cuz it's green , light and filled with plants. Thanks for letting us take a look!💚💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

depression doesn't happen because of unclean air lmao. It's good for her lungs, and the plants might boost her mood and make her feel happy, but that doesn't get rid of depression.

Certain plants (e.g. jades) really like the shade. You'd be surprised!
They aren't,They just continuously replace the dying plants
@@tonsofskelly2751 She is using artificial lights and humidifier.
She plant indoor plant. No need full light or sun
Better to be a plant hoarder than a junk hoarder!! Inspiring love it
So she will live a long life. There's a study that women who surround themselves with green and spend time in garden and taking care of plants live longer than average and are more healthy. I don't know much about that but read it somewhere.

The air in her Flat has to be phenomenal
No they don't... Oxygen is what they exhale. Plants use th carbon in CO2 to build they cells, and exhale the surplus O2.
Kinda. You're... both right, AND wrong.. Day time is the photosythesis that creates oxygen, but at night oxygen is consumed.
Jez Haute Yes, I didn't want to complicate matters, because plants in general produce a surplus of O2, so I didn't see it as relevant to addressing his point.
They photosynthesize during the day, storing chemical energy, and respirate when they lack solar energy to run their metabolic processes.
last time I checked CO2 doesn't have a bad smell or is harmful. Plants absorb pollutants
moonasha It doesn't smell of anything, but it is toxic in high enough concentration in the blood. 1% CO2 in the air causes drowsiness and up to 10% is fatal.
Love your place, it's cosy and full of energy.
