There's two ways to do it. Buy the radio removal keys off Amazon or you can remove the 4 screws holding the faceplate in and slowly pry it off - once you have it off you can use pliers or a screwdriver to release the clips
Red wire listed as 'ignition switched' on my harness, is that the one that has to go to the fuse box? And that's what actually kills the power to it? because as it stands, wired 'correctly' my radio won't turn off LOL

you do realize that had just matched the red to the red on car wire harness that it would have shut off with car... if your old radio did then so would the new one
@@JeffDavis771 - Do you know of any technical specifics on this topic? I ask because my MK4 has an after market radio and I've been told that it can affect the comm port connectivity. I am currently dealing with this issue. What fun!
@@SavedbyHim i wired mine wire-for-wire as the manual showed and the new deck turned on the second I plugged it in, no key in the ignition and didn't turn off til I unplugged the harness again LOL
solder it or use a non-insulated butt connector and shrink wrap it afterwards, pretty simple. get a fuse-add and a test light or multi meter, open your fuse box, find a fuse that has no power, turn your key to the power position, check for power on that fuse, if it has power you install the fuse add into that circuit and wallah or you can do it the hack-job way and jam the wire into the fuse like they did - lol
VW putting a cupholder above the radio is the stupidest thing ever
yea i dont like that to . maybe is possible to remove the cupholder and get the multimedia little bit hinger and will be easier to use? anybody know?
@@Tony-sb8mv i know you can pull it out and replace it if you want. mine pops in and out
Ecs tuning sells a center console piece that replaces the ridiculous “glovebox” with two cup holders
@@joshuavillamil721 Hey do you have a link to that by any chance? I couldn't find it on their website.

Thanks so much for this - especially the running a wire to the #6 key fuse! And how to remove the panel for access. You guys rock!
I would never know if this is a good video because there are no longer dislike counters
this is the most factory radio genius i have ever seen.
i did my jetta like that and it ran constant hot lmao learned how to hotwire my car
Thanks amigos for the tip , god blessing you 🙏🏼🙌🏼 smart idea 💡 👍🏼
This is the sketchiest wiring I’ve ever seen
Wow great video!! Why didn't you show the use of the radio! How do we even know it powers up.. lol
What’s size is the stereo for the 2003 Jetta vw
That sounds like the voice of a valet angel
To remove that radio that you just installed, I’m assuming you just pull outward?
I wired the yellow wire to the 75x but now when I turn off my car the radio resets all the settings I had
is it possible for someone to leave a link for the connector and radio?
^please!
Did you find it ?
how do you take out that radio though, i didn't put it in but i need to take it out and im not sure how to without breaking the dash kit.
ebonie garnes I have the same problem

Josh Hickman thank you!!!
What scosche wiring harness did you use?
Please use a add a circuit to wire it up to your fuse box. Its 5 dollars but saves you from burning your car down.
link please lol
Why did you wire the power wire like that? There are better ways.
can i get a list of part that you guys used?
Duct tape and Bible gum
Where did you gwt the wiring harnes that conects to the stock one
Did you ever figure it out? Looks for the same thing
I've used afuse like that. Never had a problem with it

Does the adapter come with the radio ?
No they don't I had to get one for my mk4 golf there not too expensive you can get most under 20$
Why would they do that for all the wires our there
Hey man, What did you use to make the red wire to the fuse box longer?
We just used some extra speaker wire and some shrink wrap.
Adam Strojny hgh
Is that a 7inch screen
Link to wire harness
Parts list?

shawncrews not on a VW. It’s a special little flower.
What if I connevtrd each wire matching car wire no power
You need to remove the key before it switches off. My head unit literally just plugged into my vw harness and worked first time...

Where are the links to everything?
Hey man, do you know if this will work on a 2002 VW Passat?
Don't run the power wire the same way.
Where did you get the keys
you can do it without them pry the face of the radio off make sure battery isn’t connected then needle nose pliers to clips pull in then you’re good
Well that's not janky at all.
Have the same stock radio, replaced it with a Jensen doubledin and no sound to any of the speakers
You do know they literally make several different things to wire into your fuse box properly. Hope you guys haven't had a fire yet 🤦🤦🤦
Having it turn on and off with the key is annoying if you drive a manual and accidentally stall lol
Well don't stall it and learn to drive a manual lol
I used the wiper fuse on mine.
You know you can pop that side panel off, and the whole bottom of the dash comes off right?
Also behind that dash panel is a pair of terminals for switched and unswitched power.
did it ever power up? lol
oh my god this looks so hard i cant fucking do this
Looks like the same radio I had in my Kia rio
Does ur radio have a gps, what model radio did u get and finally how did u find out which radio would fit, thx, 👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
No gps, Pioneer AVH-X390BS, search "double din radio" into google and all of those should fit.
Is using duct/masking tape even safe🤷🏼…potential fire hazard🤷🏼
Just use the proper canbus adapter. Or atleast use the 12v to key located behind the panel under the steering wheel🤦♂️
WTF, didn't even turn it on? SMH LOL
I'll even subscribe if you can help me out bro.
