    I’ve had mine for a little over three years I use it professionally still works. I bought my second one two years ago. It also still works. There are plenty of reviews on this gun. It’s an absolute tank a little heavy, but definitely well-built find a better review would be my suggestion. And as far as the service goes, Milwaukee offers a five year warranty, they pay for shipping both ways. The turnaround time is about seven days. So as far as making sure someone services it more bad information. If you have problems with your Milwaukee tools use the E service.

    • @dcl97
      @dcl97 8 місяців тому +1

      The 5 year warranty is unacceptable when it's not user serviceable and the air is guaranteed to leak out over time. The Metabo has a lifetime warranty AND is user serviceable. I had assumed the M18 used a completely sealed cylinder which is why it didn't have a service port, but no, it has one just like the Metabo but you can't access it unless you completely disassemble the tool. Imagine the cost of that service after your 5 years are up? The company that has a lifetime warranty lets you fill it yourself, the one with only 5 years requires you to send it in periodically to be refilled, I wonder why?

    • @steffendetrick
      @steffendetrick 8 місяців тому +7

      @@dcl97 Metabo offers a three-year warranty just like Dewalt and Makita so that’s not true. I’ll post a link with their warranty under this comment. And as far as servicing it yourself with air, it doesn’t take air in the cylinder it takes a type of gas. That’s why they don’t let you service it yourself.. That doesn’t make it not serviceable you can send any tool into Milwaukee and they will service it for you, or take it to one of their authorized service vendors. So just like the guy in this video you don’t know what you’re talking about. A warranty that is two years longer than their two closest competitors is unacceptable to you?

    • @steffendetrick
      @steffendetrick 8 місяців тому +7

      @@dcl97 and as far as the cost after five years, if you’re an actual professional, and you are making money off of your tools, and not just collecting them then you have made thousands and thousands of dollars off of that tool over the course of five years. We’re not talking about a $2000 tool here we’re talking about a $300 tool. If I can spend $300 on a tool and I am guaranteed five years to make money off of that tool for $300 and that thing goes out on the sixth year I’m OK with it. If you’re not making enough money off of a $300 tool in six years you need to reconsider what you’re doing. Like I said, we’re not talking about a $2000 tool here that’s expected a last lifetime.

    Regular air is 78% nitrogen, the removal of that bit of oxygen doesn't really mean much. Probably way more important that it's dry nitrogen with low water content.

    I own two of these and have had them since they came out and have framed numerous basements and decks professionally. Had to have put a million Nails through each one of them.... just as powerful as the day I bought em. Stumbled across this video in my feed. Cool to see how it works. I definitely abused the heck out of mine dropping them off of high places here and there. Primarily they get stored in the packout system so they're pretty well protected but they definitely get the crap kicked out of them. I would not hesitate to buy another if I needed one!

    I have both the Metabo HPT cordless framer & the tried & true paslode XP cordless framer. Both excellent guns. I use my paslode for work above the ground because of how light weight & maneuverable it is. The metabo is great for ground work because it’s a little heavier. The metabo just flat out works. The Paslode (which is my golden child even tho gas is expensive) needs regular maintenance but its extremely easy to do & is all around an excellent gun.. I do have multiple air nailers which get pulled a lot too but it’s just nice to go hoseless if you can get away with it.

    The Ryobi has easy user access to the fill valve but you fill it with air rather than nitrogen which I question because of the water content in air. The fill value is 125 PSI and it has a relief valve to prevent you from over filling it. I'm retired so it will last me the rest of my life. I have that Dewalt you showed, I bought it in 2006.

    Probably put about 5 boxes of nails through it. 2000 nails per box.
    Just recently it has started misfiring. Just a clicking sound like an internal switch operating but no firing.

    It's a sad part of modern-day trades. Tools don't last or junk from the start.
    We go thru a wide variety of cordless tools and to sit and wait for warranty work to be completed, costs money, and lost jobs. So what's a guy to do but buy spares cordless tools just to keep a guy working.
    I'm starting to think the tool companies should start a lease program where you pay a flat rate fee yearly for tools and when their tools fail you drop it off and grab another no questions asked.

      When I bought my pneumatic powered Ridgid framing nailer in 2005 the manager at my local Home Depot said if I have any problems with it come back to the store & they'll swap it out with a new one while mine is getting fixed for free with their lifetime warrantee/free parts & service. All you have to do is register it. I just bought the Ridgid 21 degree brushless nailer on Ebay because I got a great deal on a new one in original box & a new in package 4ah battery for only $218.00 total with free shipping & taxes included. Just the nailer at Home Depot is $329 & they never go on sale unless you spend another $20.00 & get a 4ah battery & charger with it. So I saved about a 100 bucks but I don't get the warrantee for life deal because it has to be bought from an authorized Ridgid seller like Home Depot in order to register it. But you're right, it's a throw away society these days & it's actually planned like that on purpose in order for them to make more profits because a lot of times it costs almost as much or more to repair things nowadays! It's called planned obsolescence "(Planned obsolescence describes the practice of designing products to break quickly or become obsolete in the short to mid-term. The general idea behind this is to encourage sales of new products and upgrades, a practice that has been banned in some countries.)"😠

On another note, you could always keep it and do a long term test with it. I've got the same nail gun but I don't use mine to make a living tbh; light to moderate use, home DYI projects at most. I feel your pain that's why I brought the rigid brushless framing 3 1/2" nailer they have a cover with a valve that after the 5,000 nails or so you can air it up to the 125 psi and no more because they have a pressure valve so the max is about 127 psi from what ive been able to fill with my Milwaukee 18v inflator. I've made a video of it if you're interested to see how it's made and the benefit of being able to refill. And the reason why I believe Ridgid did this is the LSA where if anything happens you send it in for service for life and they didn't want to fill nailers and waste time and resources. It makes sense Milwaukee with a 5 year warranty dewalt with a 1 year warranty says 3 but you really have to read the fine print. Also made a video about DeWalt warranty and why I left the platform as a whole. I had to pay 111.00 for a bad board you would think it was a defect but with impact wrenches the hard hitting jaring effect will loosen board components which the explained and was considered wear and tear. So they lost my business. But great video you have educated many who just don't know. Who do not have the time for hours of research and the major players in the tool community content maker's are promoting tools they have a script and to get paid they have to keep to the script. They actually have to send the video to be watched before they can publish it. So be careful with these major channels who are in it for profit not community!

    Notice when it starts losing pressure. I took it into my local service Center and they gave me a brand new gun. Only once did they actually refill the nitrogen for me. I use my gun constantly and every time I’ve taken it in they’ve handed me a new gun. There is a video of a guy in the UK who had taken it apart and filled it with normal air. I’m tired of taking it in all the time so I’m gonna try and refill it myself but you have to make sure the drive pin is extended before filling. I haven’t figured that part out yet. Metabo (hitachi) suppose to have access to the Schroeder valve so u can fill it yourself. It’s my understanding that Milwaukee bought Senco patent to be able to make these.

    Refilling the pressure chamber is putting a bandaid on the problem. A rebuild kit would probably be in order, before pressurizing, or else it will just leak out again. BTW, that's not red loctite, that's cross treading or stripping the plastic.

  • @alfredocuomo1546
    @alfredocuomo1546 6 місяців тому +3

    First off all you needed to have is a PCP air rifle pump has the same fitting to fill it to 100 PSI, second all the motor does is spin that cog and push the anvil back against the air pressure in the tank and when you press the trigger it picks a Solenoid which releases the anvil and the pressure drives it to strike the nail. Simple as is..!!! LMFIAO PS. Even though it was originally filled with Nitrogen remember air is 78% Nitrogen so it should work fairly well except it may be more prone to drop pressure due to some smaller molecules like Oxygen.

    Lowe's? That's your first mistake. The great thing about Milwaukee is that no matter where you buy it from, you will be buying the same model, no matter what.

      That’s good to know dewalt had different models back in the day. I would have the secretary make sure she ordered the exact same model number so hopefully we wouldn’t get the cheaper model. I think the only thing I have seen with Milwaukee is brushless vs brush on different drills etc. That is nice if Milwaukee doesn’t play the game of box store has this model. Dealer has this model and online is even a different model number. I had to dig hard on UA-cam to find the paslode framing nailer from Lowe’s is not the same one that the professionals use. Sure is a bummer when you buy something and it doesn’t even make it a day but that’s the new norm I guess.

    I considered purchasing this nailer but after finding out it has a "sealed" Nitrogen canister I have decided not to. There is no such thing as a sealed canister as they will leak over time. Air would work but it has moisture in it an will condense on the inside so Nitrogen is a better gas from that standpoint.

    God bless ya man, I feel your pain! I love Milwaukee Tools, but these companies act like everyone is made of money. I was thinking about buying one like this because I have the batteries and other tools, but after watching this video of yours I think I will pass. I have a Paslode 16 gauge cordless gun and the battery went bad, luckily the thing was still under warranty, so they shipped me one out, plus I had to buy cartridges for it also. Still works good though. Other than that I have used the Bostich air nailers with the 25' coil hoses, which has worked the best for me, so I am just going to stick with what I have been using. Peace!

    AGREE- I own 3 Milwaukee's , 18 Ga. Brad (1 yr old) 1/4 inch crown (1 yr old) and same framer (2 yrs old) . Stapler is in warranty getting refilled, Brad nailer I just got back about a month ago. Framer has not lost charge YET! Maybe cause Im a finish carpenter and don't use that much? But, I do not recommend any M18 nailers for the way they leave you hanging. Wish I knew 2 years ago. I should have known better. Actually I have had problems with Fuel tools in general ( switches on impact drivers (2) chuck on drill 1x, burnt up a regular M18 Impact . Yes, all where fixed by Milwaukee at no cost.. But,, Way over priced, and the " They have good warranty" line does not work well when your out the tool for a 3 weeks plus.. Going to cordless Hitachi I believe. Enough of the gimmicks for me. I will say I do like Milwaukee the 7.25 slide compound, Great for small jobs, easy and light weight a little slow Rpm's maybe.. But Not as accurate/ true as my 20+year old 7.5 inch hitachi that Ive only had to replace brushes on. Hitachi has changed those years ago. I see that bigger blades are way more money to heavy, and blade has to much flex,, Only when the depth of cut is needed. No, I do not stand Crown up to cut it..

Anyway thanks for your great video

      I have two Bostich pneumatic nailers,one framing gun and a fixout gun..If i leave the guns for any extended period, the triggers leak air.. Supposedly the 0 rings break down.. I was thinking about the Milwaukee battery nailers instead of fixing the triggers once again, but now am not sure...I'm curious if you have had air leaking from the trigger issues on your guns?..Cheers.

    I was at a repair shop today that services tools…I’m a Milwaukee fan and have many of their M18 tools, was considering buying the 30 degree nailer and asked the guy there about them. He said “I can not reccomend them, I can’t service them and Milwaukee on average takes 6 weeks to send them back recharged.” I hadn’t heard about that before so I got a more detailed explanation from him. Just as he finished telling me about the nitrogen loss issue, a contractor came in to drop off 3 of them for just that issue! Contractor explained that he had 9 of them and loved the performance of them but had to buy so many, so that he always had atleast 4 working nailers for his crew. I asked him if it was worth it for me to buy 1 as an occasional renovator? He said, “Oh hell no! You’ll get anywhere between 500 and 2500 shots before you have to send it back to Milwaukee for recharge. You’re better off buying the Matabo for reliability and it’s cheaper and comes with 2 batteries.” I asked why he says 500-2500 shots? He said “because they are inconsistent and even Milwaukee doesn’t know how long they will last, so much so that sometimes I come to pick them up here and get a brand new in the box nailer from them because they can’t guarantee the fix. It’s a crap shoot.” I was very disappointed at the info but thanked them both for saving me the money and hassle. Talk about a let down, smh. I’m likely going to get a Matabo and wait to see if Milwaukee smartens up with a Gen2 version that lasts as long as their other M18 tools which I love. I have used a lot of M18 tools for many years without a single breakdown, ever! Can’t tell y’all how crushed I was to get the info I got today, but thankful that my timing at that repair shop got me the info it did. Whew! Do better Milwaukee, C’mon!

    It’s sucks that you had such problems with this gun so early on. Downtime and sending items in for tool repair is just frustrating. I think every tool company has the odd melon here and there. These cordless air spring nailers definitely require a bit more maintenance then your average paslode air gun. I have 4 paslode impulse guns and they work awesome but the gas and cleaning is something you have to keep up on. So then I went with Metabo cordless nailers. I was thinking about Milwaukee but since they had just come out I decided not to. Like you said, first gen is never a good idea. Metabo on the other hand had theirs out for 7+ years. Plus was less money and there’s a service place right in my town. The Milwaukee gun here in Canada is close to $700 and thats just the bare tool. I could get the Metabo for $550 with two 5AH batteries. Anyway the Metabo won’t replace the speed of the air guns but when you’re climbing around and have smaller jobs they are nice. They will overheat on hot summer days tho so that’s something to think about. They will just shut off and you need to cool them down.
    I had two guns for a year work flawlessly under heavy use before they needed to be refilled. I also have the adapter so I can refill myself. (Can refill without taking the gun apart too) However the Service place here at least can take 3-6months to fix an issue. It’s pathetic. So now I do mostly everything myself. Order the parts online and fix myself. I have six total. 4 work great, two have had electrical problems and ruined a few of my batteries. (Shorted them out or something) These were only a couple months old too. So at the end of the day they work great and they don’t other times. Seems to be the trend right?
    All I know is for heavy framing nothing will ever beat a Paslode F350s. Super light. Compact and fastest firing gun I’ve ever used. Rarely I mean rarely needs anything done to it. Just oil and go. Clean and replace and O-ring once in a while.

    The Milwaukee framing guns are definitely not worth it. I would go as far to say any of their guns. 18 gauge 23 gauge stay on alert is all the same thing. Once it goes down and it's on the out of warranty. They wanna charge you a ridiculous amount of money to clean it and recharge it. Better off going with other brand names. I've had mine for 3 years of framing nailer. And they want to charge me $219 to clean it and charge it just unacceptable.

    I don’t understand that another review is done with the brand and technology. These guns are ordinary… Senco invented the technology 16 years ago and besides Paslode and Dewalt every other tool company has this technology in some form. People crap on about Milwaukee regarding their power… Milwaukee has the biggest motor and thats why they are the heaviest and the so claimed most power. The charged air eventually runs out and what else is disappointing is the 18v batteries only do 600/700 nails. They are way too heavy and can’t be used above your waist daily. Unless you’re on that battery platform then buy that donkey. Hikoki actually make the best version of this Senco technology, big rumour is Hikoki Metabo will raise the bar this year in their newest revision. In this video by the time he removed the magazine I would done a basic service of the Paslode.

      @@affordabledoorgatellc7391I’ve had mine for almost exactly 3 years actually a little over three years. It came out in June 2020. I bought the second one a year later both of mine still work. I hate when people take to UA-cam with their personal gripes and their own situation and then present that as some kind of standard. Unles you have had multiple of these and this was a reoccurring problem You should’ve probably just kept that one to yourself. Another thing you don’t need a receipt for the Milwaukee warranty. You put in the date code and the serial number on the E service. You really are reviewing something that you don’t know much about at all. you don’t know how the warranty works. You really aren’t that familiar with the gun and how it works and you had one isolated situation because you only had one gun.
