@@DamianQualshy i mean…tge arrancar arc and fake karakura town. Specifically, the amagai arc, and the zanpakuto rebellion arc. Both too long in the middle of an excellent arc
@@realrealwarpet I have no idea what amagai arc is, I probably skipped that one. And Zanpakuto Rebellion... Oh yeah it did take place in such a weird spot, that's right.
I'd love a sequel series focused on Joey in the pro leagues. Starts off with his luck deck but gets absolutely clapped. Forges a new Red-Eyes/Flame Sword deck and slowly rises to the top. His final test could be a rematch with Kaiba perhaps.
Basically arc v where everyone has a different duel style that clash against one another. Man how I wish arc v didn't fumble the bag after the first arc was done. But honestly some series should just stay finished. 5ds is the best since the cast all moved past dueling or embraced it further like jack crow and Leo showing you can grow up and still love Yu-Gi-Oh as an adult. And that was the third series
The beginning of Arc-V was fine. The middle was mediocre. The end was where all the foreshadowing and setup paid off and I actually liked it a lot. I like Zarc as a villain and the duel against him, but there are also so many things that are wrong... Leo, the main antagonist is dense, the fight against Sergey was dumb and the battle royal rules... Well, let's just say there are multiple duels where you wonder how the protag is getting out of them and the answer is "He doesn't lol, someone saves him". Again, the battle royal against Zarc is cool, but that's the exception.
@@Depressed_Spider I agree somewhat but the end is what killed it for me. Personally, I feel like they should have gone one of three routes for the post Z-Arc portion. 1. Have all the Yu-Boys, Bracelet Girls, and Dimensions come together with Standard being the dominant Dimension(with places from the others being present), Yuya as the dominant Yu-Boy(and give Yuri an arc if you're going to redeem him post fusion), and Zuzu for the dominant Bracelet Girl. 2. Have all the Dimensions, Yu-Boys, and Bracelet Girls remain separate with some portals for traveling between them. Also, give Yuri an arc if you're going to redeem him. 3. Have all the Dimensions become one while the Yu-Boys and Bracelet Girls become 4 again. Also, if you're going to redeem Yuri, give him an arc. I may or may not have a particular dislike for how my favorite Yu-Boy was handled for his only appearance after he and Yuya merged to become whole.
@@mikebottomlesspitdunham2954 Oh yeah, the ending was absolutely disappointing. Loved the final fight though, how refreshing it is that we don't get to see the protag being the one defeating the big bad but BEING the big bad and how sassy Z-ARC is overall. He constantly talks trash like "Sorry for being so overpowered." Also unfortunately Ray had to step in to save the day once more. A deus-ex-machina similar to the end of Dark Side of Dimensions. I wouldn't have minded if Declan finished the job.
@@Depressed_Spider thing is, DSoD wasn't really a deus ex mechima. Neither was Ray really. You see, for DSoD, it was basically said throughout the movie that Atem was going to return, while with reily, it was a case of subtle foreshadowing.
Couple things I'd change make Tea and Tristan more relevant, let them duel more often, have Joey rely way less on luck based cards and actually show his skills more often. Also finally have someone actually get the Millenium Scales, always bugged the hell out of me no one ever got that.
Yes exactly my thinking. I was so disappointed when I found out, at the very end, that Shadi had the scales the whole time along with the key. I was waiting for this mysterious character to come out of nowhere wielding the scales as a big plot twist in the story , but it never happened. Also I agree that joey relies on luck too much, so they need to balance that out a bit more, to make it more realistic, if a remake does happen.
And that's why it's probably never happening. Even season 0 inserted more Duel Monsters into the show. The one-off bullies from the manga were never a popular part of the story.
Bro didn't kill himself, bro invented a way to basically go into heaven and hell and back. Imagine creating something that will let you meet your dead love ones and instead of showing it and profiting from it, you're like "I'm going to use this thing to kick the ass of a dead pharoah"
I understand wanting to cut out filler but I personally feel orichalcos is an important chapter. Yeah it didn't happen in the manga but it helped the Pharoah grow even more and overcome the inner darkness that he needed too in order to win in the end.
Only in the anime, the Kaiba attempted jump off the castle was meant to be that for Yami as before he was a pretty ruthless player of various games while following the rules
Not to mention the Orichalcos/Doma Arc served as a way to conclude Mai's character arc because in the Manga, she disappeared after Battle City so she never got any closure for the trauma Yami Marik inflicted on her with his Penalty Game.
If they were to do waking the dragons ark, there’s one thing I wish they would do at least to tighten the dub and that is have dartz say captured Raphael family, and the guy who’s mad at Cipa’s little brother and fed their souls to the great Leviathan actually works because one. Why would he kill people when he could just take their souls in a dual until it does fix the plot hole of the ghosts of families appearing after the leviathan is defeated plus we can give Kaya a pet dog where he sent his jet to take them to dark has been keeping their bodies so for a family reunion.
@@Zombiekilleryamato well that might be associated with and put together with us do monster show. I I think it was attended to be like a spin off miniseries to promote the other game like the the Dublin episodes worked to introduce dice monsters that’s also why I don’t think the Latin stuff would work because these things are made to promote a card sure there are many adults who like it and that is why legendary duelists stuff exists, but the blood and stuff would not exactly make the parents want to buy it for their kids
If Duel Monsters does get a sequel or a Modern Version, I want a running joke where whenever Tea duel, the opponent always bricks to the point of surrender meaning she still is undefeated.
@@HenshinFanatic Well, she the only character that has a perfect win streak. There's tons of people in Master Duel who would surrender as soon as you slap down a monster. Her message would be Never Give Up until you see the end.
@@freyachobi I don't like that, honestly the best deck that suits Tea is Mikanko. She's all about cute and weak monsters that relay on Equip Spell like in the early Yu-Gi-Oh games like Legacy Of The Duelist. They even have cards that have dancing as well, which is Tea dream.
God, I just want a Card Game anime that actually shows the deck building side of things. The protagonist pulling cards from packs, learning and considering the meta, defining and refining their deck, adding in a side board, the game adding in new rules (to represent new sets/formats/progression), and so on! (To be clear since a fair few commented it, I'm not taking about like a full 30minute episode on it, just maybe 3-4 minute portions where they talk about their deck/changes/considerations, like Pokémon does with team building before a gym or type advantages). I think the closest I've ever seen is in Zenonzard where the protag actually looks through his deck and makes a few changes before a big match etc. Also absolute banger of an OP theme, look it up :D
🤔 yeah trying to find the perfect Meta & then testing out stuff by playing against each other would be nice. But most people will think it's boring. Like watching movie characters go to the bathroom & eating ever meal fully
@@jeremyhall2727 I'm sure a good show could make it interesting! I'm not asking for like 30 full minutes of them pondering over the deck list lol, just... "I pulled this new card that fits into my deck!" or "My deck is struggling what changes could I make (and explaining why, both interesting and teach viewers the game)", or a minute or two of sideboard consideration etc
The Yugioh OCG structures Manga is prtty much that. Or at least Deck Building is a big part of it. (I'm NOT referring to OCG Stories. That's a different Manga)
There's some things you missed: ●You forgot about the Yugioh Season 0 Manga that happened long before Duelist Kingdom, the Manga that gave birth to everything Yugioh and cemented Kaiba's path to becoming the best Rival Character. ●If we're on the subject of Yugioh Kai being on a higher Age Rating, then every character, both humans and cards, would also have to get back everything that was Censored out. ●The other Extra Deck Summoning Methods other than Ritual and Fusion can be saved for Kai versions of GX, 5DS, ZEXAL, ARC-V and VRAINS if Yugioh Kai is successful.
An interesting thing to do in a revamp/kai version of this show could be to adapt the Yugioh R manga as an arc. It wasn’t written by Kazuki Takahashi, but he did supervise the production to my knowledge. I don’t know how that would play into people’s desires for it here.
There's actually a format similar to it if you don't know, it's called Domain Format, you choose a card that's your Deck Master or Commander if you play mtg, the deck has to follow your DM for example Red-Eyes as your DM, your deck can only consist of DARK monsters, Dragon monsters, and the Red-Eyes archetype, 60 card main deck no more no less, singleton, and your DM does not count towards your main deck card count and extra deck still at 15
For Millennium Powers, the Puzzle doesn’t just move a card to the top of the deck, it literally conjures them. Atem was the Pharaoh controlling all the monsters so they are all at his disposal. Like a Yugioh version of Gilgamesh. That’s how he has so many decks.
And let us not forget: "Screw the rules, I have money!" "My voice gives me super strength!" "Brooklyn rage!" "Oh my various gods!" "In America." And last but not least of all: "Shut up Mokuba!"
@@FinalSeraphLeothey 100% wouldn’t especially with the amount of shit little kuriboh has gotten from them but it would be a really easy way for them to engage with the community
Kaiba: Mokuba when at first you don't succeed...BLAST EM' WITH YOUR BLUE EYES AGAIN!!! I personally don't like Kaiba but he knows how to talk smack!! The lines he says in the original are so funny lol 🤣🤣🤣
One fo the things the FIller Arc does, is really add the passage of time, throughout the series we see Yugi and Atem bond, befriend and support one another, at this really does sell the emotional impact at the end, Yugi wished for a friend and if the filler is cut out, the time spent of them being friends also gets removed, so then the Pharoah, has Duelist Kingdom, Battle CIty, and Lost memories/Dawn of the Duel arcs and thats it, I feel like the filler could be reworked and restructured so that it all fits and maybe even leaves space for more adventures. Something Like Bakura is the one to resurrect Dartz and is fuel for the leviathan, which makes dartz realise the god cards and millennium items are are formidable threat at uses them to try to defeat, (could also link that to Jaden and yubel, as the treat they were facing was the leviathan,(retcon) and thats why yugi also gives jayden winged kuriboh). I hope that makes sense. Yugi and Atem should become brothers and we see them grow, and help others around them, removing the filler stuns that growth and other characters, even though the original filler does seem shoe-horned in
millennium puzzle: increases luck/ forces you to draw specific cards for the scenario millennium eye: makes you see the opponents hand millennium ring: points you on the path to victory (maybe shows the user when to respond to a certain action or which card to start off with) millennium key: makes the opponent have a chance of "missclicking" in duels (basically they wanna set their monster in defense but they actually summon them or instead of setting MST they activate it but since there's no spells or traps on the opponents field they destroy their own ones) millennium scale: weighs the opponents cards against yours in YOUR hand and on the field and gives you a description of how powerful your combo would be against what they have (ie you have an X% chance of being able to resolve your effect and summoning your boss monster) millennium necklace: it shows you a vision of what the next turn will look like, but the vision is only 75% accurate (still high accuracy but can be avoided) millennium rod: randomizes a sense and the next turn your opponent has to play without that sense (smell, sound, sight, taste or touch, losing touch, smell or taste wouldn't really be devastating but losing your sight or sound could just auto lose you the game) I'm honestly shocked the millennium items haven't been turned into cards
Millennium Key should force the opponent to act in accordance with their heart's honest desire rather than what they might reasonably think is the logical move; think of it like that one infamous 5D's duel where Yusei literally had no cards left in his deck and all his opponent had to do to win was end turn immediately, but instead was goaded into attacking so that Yusei could turn the tables and win instead. That'd tie better into the Key's canon ability to "enter the room of the soul", wherein a person's true nature is laid bare through symbolic decoration.
Honestly the only way the Yugioh DM anime should ever be remade is if and only if it is a completely faithful to Kazuki Takahashi’s original manga from the fight with Ushio to Atem’s farewell which means no modern cards or summoning mechanics. The original duels have a certain story and themes told through the battles which would be muddled with modern support.
Yea no way I'd jus like them 2 make a complete series of each season on DVD I kno I'm old but thats what I love and its hard as heck 2 find the dvds. I love the virtual world and waking dragons arch I haven't watched them fully since they been on TV. IDK manga n ain't got any interest in it I jus want 2 watch the anime again as I did as a teen. I dnt stream or anything like that so DVD would be awesome if pay like $100 for the complete series then they can do GX n so on
Honestly before we even get a sequel, we need to get a movie where all the protagonists come together and meet each other. We still haven't gotten many leaks, and it would be amazing to see.
I just hope they get to do more with each other this time. I hated Bonds Beyond Time for just throwing the three leads together and jumping right to the climax. That was so lazy.
@@byronsenior6499Not to mention how it clearly was made with season 4 of both GX and 5Ds in mind, leaving English audiences completely flat-footed. That feeling when it’s explained in the main series who Paradox is but us Americans don’t get it. It’d be a cool way to justify and canonize the movie at the same time but nope. Not for us. Not to mention Jaden’s whole situation.
@@byronsenior6499 Yes but only in season 4, which wasn’t dubbed. Yusei outright had a flashback to Bonds Beyond Time when we got exposition on the goals and backstory of each member of his group. He also was in a few of the antagonists’ flashbacks but I don’t think he ever spoke in them.
Idk if losing the Virtual World arc Waking the Dragons, and Grand Championship would help or hurt it... Despite those 3 arcs being filler they provide VALUABLE material to the overall series. Waking the dragons less than the other 2. If you cut filler, you cut a lot of Kaibas story. Most of his back story with the company, big 5 amd Gosoboro takes place in Virtual World, meanwhile an old foe from his past resurfaces with the goal of beating him and his rival to take over his company. I would hate to see that lost. Now the dialog change i would be 100% for as it would make the duels SO MUCH BETTER.
I still want a series exploring the world of the monsters. (similar to the small animation they did 7 months ago where they showed various arch types in various animation styles) it'd be cool to learn more about individual monsters. Benefits for Konami: 1. No longer have to worry about the rules of the game, which are ever changing, becoming out dated. 2. Can have stories as long or short as they want, and can always go back to a group later. (so they can do like, a 3-4 episode set focusing on the Elemental Heroes, and then do like a solo episode on Mokey Mokey/Mokey Mokey King, and then go into the Charmer Archetype a few episodes) 3. They can use this to show off new cards/cards that have made a resurgence, without worrying too much how someone would play them 4. People that don't necessarily care about playing the game might get interested in the show, and while maybe they won't buy as much merch as someone who plays, they might buy non card merch, or maybe they will buy cards to specifically chase a group they saw in the show for collection purposes Cons: 1. You'd lose an avenue to visually show how the game works. (though I'd argue the show hasn't exactly been great for that historically with rules being bent, to ignored, to straight up defiled in some more egregious cases. 2. Probably others that I'm ignoring
I do think that you'll need to adapt much of the pre-Duelist Kingdom content first if you're gonna cut out all the filler. I would say the show would go something like this: 1. Yugi solves Millenium Puzzle, makes friends, and kills Ushio in a Shadow Game. 2. Kaiba transfers to Domino High School, steals the Blue-Eyes. Yugi wins it back, and Kaiba swears revenge and becomes antagonist. 3-4. Yugi meets Shadi. Challenges Yugi to a series of Shadow Games. 5-8. Yugi gets challenged by Kaiba's Game Assassins. 9. Bakura transfers to Yugi's school. Kaiba drives Gozuboro to suicide and takes over Kaiba Corp. Kidnaps Grandpa. 10-11. Death T commences. Yugi defeats Kaiba and performs a Mind Crush on him. 12-13. Bakura challenges Yugi to a Shadow Game. Joins friendship group shortly thereafter. Afterwards, I'd adapt Duelist Kingdom fairly accurately to what it was in the manga, but removing those encounters with Bakura and Shadi. I'd probably keep the Virtual RPG arc even though it's filler, 'cause it provides closure to the Big Five storyline that otherwise gets dropped unceremoniously in the manga. We'd get Dungeon Dice Monsters like in the Manga, then Battle City minus the Johnny Steps and Jean-Claude Magnum duel, and finally the Memory World and Ceremonial Battle arcs.
Yugi didn't kill Ushio, he made him see leaves and garbage as money. Kaiba didn't just lose and then swear revenge, he was trapped inside a card and attacked by monsters Kaiba didn't send people after Yugi, Mokuba battled him in Capsule Monster Chess (and threatened him with a knife), and then Death‐T happened. Kaiba driving Gozaburo to suicide was before he fought Yugi.
That movie also used ALL of the English dub actors/actress as well but I'm not sure how many of them are still either alive or even do voice work anymore.
@@TheRibottoStudiosI don’t think we need another movie. If the cast is willing, do a full series. We need HOURS of new modern Yu Gi Oh with the original cast(or most of it). Especially Kaiba’s petty ass.
I will never forget the moment I found out that the Waking the Dragon arc was FILLER. Like....with THAT good of a story you mean to tell me that it was FILLER? We finally, FINALLY get to see the Pharaoh at his absolute lowest and it's in FILLER? Oh I remember getting so mad about that lol. Speaking of, I think a remaster would really benefit from diving deeper into Yugi and Atem's relationship. We could see more of Yugi growing and maturing, since there ARE times in the manga he duels without Atem that should've been shown in the anime to showcase his growth. Changing the duels into a more modern way would be extremely fascinating too, and make more sense than keeping to the old school decks.
If it makes you feel better, it’s CANON in my eyes. I still have it on DVD. It was so good that they could’ve legit made it a full season and everyone would’ve been fine. The plot, the duels, the intensity. Everything was AMAZING.
One thing about the brotherhood comment. Brotherhood was based on the manga. When they approached the writer about making the anime, the writer wasn't quite sure how they wanted to progress some of the characters so asked them to make a different story and release a faithful remake after
THANK YOU I have been making stuff for a modern day retelling of Duel Monsters and potentially the other series as well with modern OCG/TCG with the story combining both the anime and manga continuities into one Hearing you think of something similar made me feel super duper smart :]
I do not need remake, just continue the series!! I want to see future Joey and Little Yugi kicking ass in Gx era like pro duelists. Bring back gx characters like Aster Pheonix since he is pro duelist, Lets see him agenst Joey or Yugi. We saw Jadens side of the story, but Yugi is still there at that time so lets see how is he handeling end of the world from Secret Beasts and how Yugi reacts when his deck was stolen in Duel academy! So many options!
I would love to see Yugioh R animated and Canon. What i mainly want to see is a legit battle city duel between Yugi and Joey, and one where Joey had defeated Marik. Joey saves the world, earning both Kaibas respect and the Winged Dragon of Ra. Yugi vs Kaiba proceeds as normal, but now it's Joey vs Yugi in the finals. Since Joey still can't control an Egyptian God, Arem takes his out of his deck and they just duel with the other cards they earned at Battle City. After an epic duel where they each showcase their best, it ends in a draw. Joey admits that Yugi would've won if he'd used the gods and insists he's the winner but then the 2 trade cards; Joey giving Atem Ra in exchange for his Red-Eyes. This, in animated Canon, would make my day.
I would commit war crimes if their was the possibility of Yu-Gi-Oh being remade but they start from the actual beginning, Season Zero leading into Duel monsters with the kind of animation Dark Side of Dimensions had…. I would die happy.
To be completely honest, what I'd want out of an ideal new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime would for it to be a 100% faithful adaptation of the manga. My reasons being that early pre-duel monsters Yu-Gi-Oh! contains a ton of character moments that either got completely cut, appear in a flashback that weakens the impact of those moments, or got rearranged to happen in later episodes that also weaken the impact of those moments. One thing that I'd like to see this hypothetical adaptation to tackle Kazuki's Takahashi's different art styles throughout his run with Yu-Gi-Oh!, because in a way, the art style develops alongside the characters. Another sure way this would be a slam dunk, is if Takahiro Kagami is involved in the art direction and key animations when he can step in, as well as Kazunori Takahashi, who both captured the look of Yu-Gi-Oh! in my opinion. Plus, DSOD would be a much better companion piece if all pieces fall in the right place at the right time. And I would like to disagree with your hypothetical direction of this remake. I don't really think a faithful adaptation of the manga can have the modern rules of the irl card game. either it's an adaptation of the manga, or an adaptation of the modern TCG, it can't be both. And if it is what you suggest, then that would insinuate that this remake only exists as a way to sell new cards rather than be a faithful and easily accessible adaptation of the creator's original story, which makes me less enthusiastic about the possibility of getting a new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. And to argue against the suggestion of characters using their modern decks, Takahashi states in vol 19 that he took creative liberties with the rules of the game and effects of the cards to better suit the storytelling of his manga, so changing character decks would severely weaken the story. The modern decks work in person and in other shows because they are made with those new cards and rules in mind, whereas the original game had to change and adapt once it became the focus. Also, Panik's deck already portrayed what he was about, scaring his opponents by hiding in the dark with strong monsters and strong defenses. This concludes my insane ramblings.
If we get a Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters Kai, they have to throw out the 4Kids script. I know it's beloved but 4Kids pretty much lobatomized most of the characters by ripping out their character development to keep them as static as possible. Seto Kaiba is a much more nuanced and relatable character compared to his dub version. I think we should keep the Virtual World and Waking the Dragons (aka The Doma Arc) arcs but trim them down heavily so they're each like 20 episodes or less and shifted so they don't interrupt the ongoing story as much. The Virtual World Arc was a character expansion for the Kaiba Brothers (With their father and older foster brother) while the Doma Arc concluded Mai's character arc after she disappeared after Battle City in the original manga.
What I hated about the KCGC arc is how Joey was treated, we had so many nobody duelists and Joey beats Grandpa Moto but then is immediately pitted against Zigfried in the second round and looses, what should have happened is Joey duels the magician kid next, then after that he is placed against KO Kaiba and before the Duel Kaiba disqualifies Zigfried and gives Joey the win, Joey then ends up facing Leon in the finals where Joey wins and we get a cool Joey vs Yugi duel
Unfortunately, Yugi v Joey and Kaiba v Joey are both also filler, so there’s also the risk that those two duels get cut as well. But still, it would be amazing to get a Yugioh Kai
Yeah I was so shock when I was reading the manga that Kaiba vs Joey wasn't part of the original canon, since it makes so much sense for something like that to happen
I can understand a remaster of the Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters series and I'm all for it, up until people that have dueled less or were just there as plot points like Tristan, Shizuka-(Serenity), Duke Devlin and also Shadi, Shadi being the most questionable to duel because of... What would he even play? I know in my soul some would say he'd run the new Millennium support with the Ankh, Sengenjin, Wedju Temple and all that, but that was more created for Solomon Muto's taste mostly because of his penchant for running Exodia in his deck and his past-life self who used creatures like those, even though it does fit with Shadi's Egyptian theming as well. I guess his boss monster could be the new Blue-Eyes card that works for the Millennium archetype, even though Solomon also had just one copy of Blue-Eyes in his possession which granted, was just a personal treasure for him and granted again, Shadi did try to summon it in Yugi's mind to fight the Dark Magician, so anything's possible.
If you do a remaster with modernized decks, they'd have to give Yugi a modern deck based around Exodia, either stall or FTK, neither of which tends to make for good television. (Though, they could use the Jeff Leonards strategy featured in the modern Yu-Gi-Oh! parody, which is particularly interesting because it uses every single summoning method, though that would be a complicated deck to introduce in the very first episode.)
For those who are wondering: Pegasus dies in the Manga and He’s alive in anime because he appears in GX anime The Waking the dragon’s arc did also show that Pegasus is alive
they could honestly go with a sort of brotherhood styled way where they follow the manga for all the series as they've done alterations with filler and such so.....that could mean isntead of waking the dragons we could get the wicked gods arc of sorts....
@@rednovastrum2475 If the new varients of decks and cards are in play, it could be interesting to have it be starting out on a similar trajectory to what happens at the beginning only something more dramatic happens, with things taking a turn as the adjustments to the timeline occur, maybe even having it tied to zork or the wicked gods, trying to influence the timeline so that they shall be released into the world, causing events to shift from what is the known... and adding further darkness to the series. the wicked gods released and used against yugi as a way of clashing with the egyptian god cards and avenging pegasus... though unaware the wicked gods and zork are the ones who actually set the course of events into motion since pegasus's death was one of the only things needed to help break the seal on the wicked gods.
I just want an anime that feels like Arc-V again. that is to say, an anime where multiple different duelist specializations exist (fusion focus decks, synchro focus, xyz focus, pend focus, link focus), duel disks are used, the duels are well-scripted and feel thematically appropriate to the characters, and the score is hype. Arc-V had its problems, I can write all day about them, but the ride was so good for long stretches of episodes, and it feels like we haven't hit that high since
Starting from the beginning, with no filler, would also make it so that people would understand what Yugi’s friends outside of Jounouchi were actually doing considering once Duel-Monsters starts their role is kind-of reduced. I prefer the beginning more really. It’s just sad Kazuki Takahashi wouldn’t be there (in this way too), since plot-points were changed in the final-saga because he had problems and had to rush it. Also he might be able to change things, since he’d have hind-sight now and would know how things went. He could have worked with the anime team.
I recently just rewatched Yugioh on Crunchyroll with eng subs and I have read about the differences between the 4kids ver. of the show. But what surprised me the most was Yugi is very straightforward about the spirit in the puzzle, whereas in the 4kids it feels like he keeps it a secret or just his friends know
They knew about the spirit before the start of DM. They got told upfront in Duelist Kingdom but everyone knew yugi would change when they were in danger.
I absolutely love the idea of a remake, I've been dreaming about that for YEARS and even mapping out a lot of details in my head just like you did in this video. If I could have only one more nostalgia bait show produced for the rest of time, I wouldn't even hesitate to choose this one.
@@Animating_Andy Just say that Pegasus is MIA or is mad at Gekko and his brother, boom, problem solved. The Yu-Gi-Oh! series are experts at covering up deaths after all
I would love to see you build Decks for each character Maybe also recreate the duels. We could see yugi use Grandpa's deck, which would be the Millennium deck that's out. Then, use a dedicated dark magician deck in Duelist kingdom. Battle City, we see him use Dark Paladin, the red eyes fusion, and other fusion dark magician has. Kaiba goes introduces blue eyes fusions in Duelist kingdoms, then syncros in battle city, and his rituals in the arc after when he starts connecting with his past more. Joey. Would he use a flame swordsman deck or red eyes deck?
Interestingly enough, the version of Kaiba we see in the Stone Tablet was never Priest Seto, but was instead the modern day Kaiba that travelled back to challenge him. Priest Seto was loyal to the Pharaoh, and never had access to Blue-Eyes for nearly the entire duration of his tenure. The sorcerer who entered the Pharaoh's hall and challenged him was the scene we see at the end of DSD
Damn, Kaiba is so god-tier petty that he traverses planes of existence, thousands of years, and multiple dimensions to get his get back and never does lol
Except Seto doesn't travel back in time, but rather to the afterlife. At no point in the series is the past ever affected (Dark RPG starts with past events as it's setting, but doesn't reflect what actually happened). In real past Seto did challenge Atem either because of his own ambition or due Akunadin's influence. And Atem likely won, because he later had to shatter Millennium Pendant to seal both himself and Zorc.
For the Noah arc, it is pretty important to give context for Kaiba’s whole character and why he wanted to destroy Alcatraz at the end of the Battle City arc
@@chamow2787 Yup from a Whelp that was protecting everyone to one day becoming corrupted leaving Buster Blader no choice but to slay them like Tragedy at it's finest.
@@ninjabros6282 yea, that'd be a cool/ actually marketable(considering it was featured in the og anime) Reason I was thinking the Duel terminal lore, is mainly due to how expanded the story is. Naturia, Ice Barrier, Flameveil, gusto, mist valley, fabled, evilswarm, steel swarm, ally of justice, genex etc
I really like the idea of giving each Millennium Item an advantage in a duel. The Necklace, Eye, and Puzzle already have some. The Ring could have a double-duelist thing like Atem and the Puzzle, and/or it could suggest moves to make (like how it can point you in the correct direction of something). The Key could “unlock” knowledge for you maybe, like knowing the order of your deck? Not sure what to do for Rod or Scale.
The thing about being faithful to the original manga is that... You'd kinda also need to adapt the parts of the manga that have nothing to do with the real-life card game, like basically everything that happens before Duelist Kingdom. I wouldn't have a problem with this myself-I loved things like Shadi's introduction, the soul-stealing Chinese dragon card game, and Yami Bakura's Shadow RPG version 1-but from the perspective of modern fans who are mostly here for the Duel Monsters, that'd be almost two cour's worth of episodes with barely any relevant content before getting to the parts of the series that people are actually nostalgic for. I also disagree that every Millennium Item should have some manner of in-game effect. Every one of them already has some ability that makes them relevant to either the plot, their original intended purpose of protecting the land of Egypt in ancient times, or both; trying to additionally shoehorn in game-altering properties just for the sake of it could easily come off as forced, and would also necessitate a number of rewrites (for example, Bakura had stolen the Millennium Eye, so why wouldn't he use it in his duel against Yami Marik to immediately grasp Ra's full capabilities, or even just to play around the latter's intended counters to Bakura's Destiny Board strategy?).

I personally have a few ideas about the OG Yu-Gi-Oh revamping. One way would be a "reimagination" - sort of a remake, but a lot more loose. Still uses OG characters, but rather uses only main plot points (Pegasus, Battle City, maybe Dragons, so on) and otherwise creates a new story, with all currently available mechanics. Could be cool concept, if done right. (Maybe you could even include some of the Season 0 stuff this way...) Another way I wouldn't actually mind would be something like VRAINS - various characters from YGO universes get transported into a virtual world (where have we heard this concept before, I know lol) and they try to make their way out, battling and discovering the reasons why did they get transported here and who is behind all this madness. At the same time, you have a few (maybe 2-3) actual world characters who can jump in and out of this virtual world easily, so they also try to find everything out in actual world. I think with this concept we could see some wild battles, with some of the classic characters utilizing all the new mechanics that weren't available at their time. Remastering OG anime also wouldn't be bad, but I can already tell some things would require band-aid (basically the Virtual World arc in the middle of Battle City - as we end Quarter-Finals, we are still in a normal blimp, but as we arrive to the island, the blimp form is gone (due to stuff happening at the end of that Virtual World arc), so that would require some improvisation). Plus, I don't really think something like Kai would really work IMO... A "remake" could be an interesting point, but at that point, it's better to do a "reimagination" as I mentioned in the beginning. Following the same story, but just upgrading things to a more modern time wouldn't likely work that well, in my honest opinion.
The reboot route using modern version of the decks is a great idea. Cardfight Vanguard did exactly that. When they wanted to reset the card game, they went back and reprinted all the early sets with modern updated effects. Then the anime did the same thing.
I can see DM with effect similar to his Deck master ability effect something like If Spell card is sent to the GY: you can target 1 Spell card in your GY; This effect becomes that effect when that card is activated
One thing I would like to add to the story is introducing a modern day Kisara, give Kaiba a sub plot after battle city, say in this version Joey actually wins against Marik, and we get a Duel between Marik and Kaiba, Kaiba wins and Marik gives him the Millennium Rod, Kaiba is now plagued with that vision from the past and we then get a Modern Kisara introduced, maybe applying to be his secretary or something
If Yugioh R were to cut out things like waking the dragons then it'll have to put in the wicked gods arc as that was cannon to the manga. It'll also have to put in all the Violence and mental torture that Marik will do. It's also sad because that means there's no closure to characters such as Mai.
They need to revamp the series with more adult themes that older fans can enjoy the show with the original cast. 4 kids is long gone and its time to closer tie into the manga and original Japanese dub
Never happening. Konami owns the 4kids dubbing studio for YGO dubs only. While the actual corporation is gone. Any hope of ygo being uncensored is an impossibility
@@itanocircus2106Japanese versions are a bit more brutal cause people just straight up die, and guns everywhere (Yusei just had a giant piece of metal stabbed into his chest so it's not just DM either, that's pretty brutal for a protagonist). I believe it tones down for ZEXAL and beyond but I'm sure fans would love a redubbed 5D's, for example. It's probably kid rated over here but Konami would probably advertise these as "redubs for teenage and older audiences" or something, since they're so afraid of anything that even resembles a complaint from a strict parent.
I would actually combine the two virtual worlds arc into one. Place it between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City. I would give it 10 episodes, each member of the Big 5 has a one episode duel and each of them uses a different summoning mechanic.
Honestly I’d recommend a Yugioh Kai of the anime continuity DM. You do get to cut a good few episodes still, but the Doma arc would actually stay as it’s the basis of a good amount of GX and 5D’s lore is actually based on concepts introduced in Doma, including that the Seal might be a corruption of the Light of Destruction (or the Gentle Darkness, still figuring that out honestly.) Basically you’d have: Ep1 Duelist Kingdom Rebecca’s Duel DDM Battle City Battle City Finals Doma Millennium World You get to skip: Both Virtual World arcs (as these generally don’t affect much of anything besides explaining Kaiba’s backstory which is nice but not that needed and an end to the Big 5 which isn’t that important.) KC Grand Prix - which actually doesn’t make a lot of sense except in the Japanese version where it has to do with this park specifically and Kaiba holding a follow up for Battle City. But isn’t relevant that much.)
I've thought it might be fun if you did a What If-type video series going over what if different people partook in different key plot duels. One I'd love to see is what if Joey dueled Pegasus at Duelist Kingdom.
I think you’re really cooking with the idea of a modern remake with the new support and modern esque decks of the characters while keeping the story itself rather faithful. A lot of the way the duels play out would still be the same given the way a lot of modern support like say Bakura’s is all about the way his destiny board deck was portrayed in that duel. The idea of Yugi/Yami switching between different deck cores to show the new support and how good they are as duelists fits super well. And lastly, it’s absolutely insanely strong marketing material, your suggestion about reprinting the modern support and adding one/two new cards is great for making new nostalgic sets while helping older Yugi “boomers” see the new stuff and understand how it plays. Kaiba breaking out the new blue eyes synchro ultimate dragon against Yami’s red eyes dark dragoon in battle city finals would go brazy.
If we really wanna make a remake, we should just animate the manga directly. They are so different, but yet so important, that i think having it animated would really help people to get an idea of the yugioh cinematic universe. It would also be a very good omage to takahashi, having the serie as he intended be animated.
well, seeing not just DBZ but also One Piece is now getting it's revamped version with WIT Studio, where it's more artistically & canonically correct, I can't see why Yu-Gi-Oh! couldn't do the same.
A Yugioh Duel Monsters Brotherhood series would be sweet. i would suggest that one of the stipulations for duelist kingdom would be that each duelist has to have two decks and that the duelists must rotate decks each duel. So joey being the total noob he is managed to scrape together a semi playable warrior deck against Mai, then steals the win with something from Yugi. Then he has to play his scrap card deck against Rex and thats where his time wizard is to take down Red Eyes
If we are gonna make any series closer to the manga it should either be GX or 5Ds. The manga stories for those are drastically different from the anime and I think they are way more interesting than the anime.
For the remake idea, I think it'd be interesting if Yugi's deck was made from, say, 3 deck fragments (around 10 cards each maybe?) and the remainder as staples (MST and such). The deck fragments would each be dedicated to a kind of deck he spawned: Dark Magician fragment, Magician Girl fragment, Poker Knights fragment, Summoned Skull fragment, etc. and he'd change out what fragments he'd use almost randomly between duels, just mostly aligning with what's seen in any duel, ie: vs Weevil would be DM, Gaia, and a bonus fragment. Millenium World little Yugi would be exempt from this though, given how simple his deck is by comparison, where he'd likely just have a Silent Deck featuring Gandora, and in the Ceremonial Duel he'd of course use a Shining Sarcophagus deck.
Additional Point: The famous "Say Goodbye to Exodia!" scene could be changed slightly with this as well. Weevil wouldn't just be trying to throw away Exodia, but instead ALL of Yugi's cards, but wasn't aware of his fragment system and instead just got the Exodia cards.
@@WilliamHasMelted No Anime currently has 10,000 Episodes, Comparing ones who have reached 1000 to a goal no anime has done to prove your point I don't even think you understand what what your talking about of the defense you are using to prove you point.
@restionSerpentine I understand what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how you're really weird for making this a competition and acting like 200 epsiodes of a 22 minute show resulting in 3 full days of watching isnt a lot.
I would like a remake of the series and I want them to do it the same way they did the digimon remake. That way more side characters and duels can be fleshed out more
Re: your point about the Millennium Items, I think it's WILD that (I believe) it's never outright mentioned that the Pharoah via the Millennium Puzzle gets a luck bonus for draws. That's such an incredibly core aspect of the character's power that is literally never outlined. So unless you know about it you just assume he gets BS plot armor. Such a weird choice.
@@Necromancer4267 The heart of the cards term specifically is a dub term I agree. However Yu-Gi-Oh loved to imply that friendship and unity won duels more than anything else. Which considering that's how Yami Yugi describes the power of the puzzle after the Shadow Game with Shadi in the manga makes sense.
You could add to the idea that each Millennium Item having its own power also including tension where the item doesn't work for *insert reason here". I know you're cutting Oricalcum, but if you hadn't, having Yami lose the power of the Puzzle after having used the Seal until he manages to prove himself, maybe during his rematch with Raphael.
What I'd like to see is a nostalgia reboot that kinda reworks just enough things to last beyond DM into other sequels, or even fuses sequels with it. As in, have Jaden's school stuff happen less than 10 years after DM. It already starts elsewhere and Seto doesn't even really appear. Have the DM tourneys not be world class and instead just localize them to some region. Yusei also exists elsewhere (could put it closer North because of the Nordic Gods users concerned for that plot) and it can be also relatively contemporary and stuff. From there you can even put the events of "Bonds Beyond Time" without really abusing time travel as much. Make the world outright a fictional one at this point since IRL references really end on DM anyways. Even ZeXal can come in, and an Arc V time could then be a proper crossover sequel. Heck even VRAINS can be switched to before Arc V and be included. All this would come in with renewed duel's cards and choreographies (since Yugioh is only ever gonna be green lit if it promotes the IRL game anyways). Though it can't mess with the main themes of the characters the way Kazuki meant them to be. Just maybe lower the scope of some of the threats so we can regionalize these and have proper chameos in the long run without resorting to "zexal and 5DS are alternate timelines" and stuff like that.
Uncut Yu-Gi-Oh Reboot? Maybe? But the Manga is much more grit and graphic. I don't mind it. Cut out Noah and Capsule Monsters KC Grand Championship season 5 would start with Zorc. BETTER YET YU-GI-OH GX COULD BE FINISHED IN DUB!
21:14 Something to consider for Yu-Gi-Oh R is that the magazine it was published in, V-Jump, was a monthly magazine rather than a weekly. So it’s more likely that it’d be around 28-36 episodes of material depending on how they pace the duels.
If I was in charge of remaking the original Yu-Gi-Oh series, I would give Tristen and Teá something to do other than being support. I remember how during the Duelist Kingdom Tournament it was implied that Tristen was thinking about entering the tournament as well, to the point where he snuck in a deck when he and his friends made it to Pegasus' island. The problem those is that, with the exception of his Lava Battleguard and Cyber Commander, we never see what his deck was, and we never see hom duel at all. The other thing I would change is to make Bakura an actual threat. Me personally, I never found Bakura a threaten antagonist as, with the sole exception of his beating Bonz, Bakura never won a single duel. If they truly wanted him to be what was left of Zorc Necrophades, they needed to show him be an actual threat by having him obtain several victories under his belt
His threat was the various shadow RPG’s he forced the gang to go through, by cutting out everything that wasn’t a card game they kept his threat subtle and without too much weight
@Xeno-The-Wanderer And yet Bakura lost to Marik, who wasn't even the final antagonist. Plus, regardless if Bakura wanted to play head games or utilize the Shadow Games during his duels, it still doesn't change the fact that she constantly performs misplays in nearly every duel he was in. He literally drew Destiny Board on his 3rd third when he was dueling Yugi during the Battle City Tournament and never thought of setting it on that very turn.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 bakura was more into making tabletop RPG campaigns than playing card games, it’s why his final gambit was a giant ancient Egypt RPG
First off. Don't. Second they keep making the ending worse by bringing back yami over and over again after his "final" farewell but guess he has a special ability that bounces him back to the field whenever Yugi is sucking at dueling or losing.
@@DamianQualshynot only that, he came back and only basically gave Yugi the physical strength to keep playing. Yugi didn't "suck" during that duel, he was going to win anyway, but the spirit damage fucking almost knocked him out.
@@guiga1605 some people even claim that Mahad was a card asspulled by Atem, but I doubt he actually has the power to do so in this state, far away from his grave or anything Millennium related
I think in a reboot giving the enemy duelists their "Battle City" decks in "Duelist Kingdom" and modern decks in "Battle City" to still show there progression and growth as duelist like in the original show.
I mean look at yugioh structures manga or these very funny skits done by red muffler man. It’s totally possible to do competitive modern decks in an entertaining anime format while still following the rules and strategies. That makes it only more interesting and makes us want to buy the cards to use them ourselves
I would love something like this, I also wouldn’t mind seeing more capsule monsters and dungeon dice monsters as outside products or maybe a spin-off series. If it lead to another Capsule Coliseum game would be awesome (still get to play that on the ps2). Refinement would be at the forefront for plot but introduction of these other ideas with better foundation could also go a long way.
Yu-gi-oh with no filler would be weak. The only arc needing readaptation is Dungeon Dice Monsters, since anime ruined it, but the rest are improved over the manga if anything.
@@genyakozlov1316 ever hear of less is more? The reason people don’t like filler is because not only did it take away from the productivity and quality of the main story, but it served no narrative purpose whatsoever. The characters it served to convey to the audience were lame and unnecessary, the messages were rehashed from the main story line, and overall the plot was weak.
@@DAVALOSLUIS Sorry but your assessment of the rule or guideline of less is more in this case is incorrect. Filler episodes are not bad episodes if they can show us some other sides about characters and make us the audience connect or understand the characters more and like or love them for various reasons. The one moment where filler episodes gets really bad is if it is regarding a certain problem that gets dragged on way too long than it should be. For example I once watch the sailor moon remake Sailor moon Crystal season 1 and in one of the episodes the Sailor senshi's Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus are fighting 4 male enemy knight/soldiers, whom in their past incarnation they used to have a love relationship with. Suddenly Venus tells the others about that relationships of the past, when they get attacked by the 4 enemy knights, the girls suddenly say they cannot fight them. WHY? because Venus told them the story and then for some reason they feel that way, even though there were no prior episodes of the girls individually meeting each male separately and building a bond with them. This was their first meeting ever and the girls are not even the exact same persons they were in the past. They ARE REINCARNATIONS of the PAST, so there is no logical and natural way of feeling that way of not wanting to fight without prior recent encounters. Without a few filler episodes to flesh those part out, that moment of refusing to fight back feels completely empty and as a viewer you would definitely be "Did I miss something?, what's going on?". Like I said before it only gets bad when it's dragged on too long than it should be. If the girls each got like 2 to 3 episodes for the whole meeting per person, that's 8 to 12 episodes regarding a similar theme, that would be dragging it out unnecessarily. If it is like each girl have 1 episode or 2 have 2 episodes and the other's just one episode, than that is fine to okay. Less is more is not some sacred rule or guideline. It applies more to logo's or commercial messages as that. Not really to long stories/series, where needed time is necessary to flesh out both characters and story, because both are needed for success for various reasons to various fans. But I would like to know which characters, which messages you are talking about that are lame and unnecessary regarding yugioh DM, because those seem more your own personal opinion and not the vast majority. However a specific type of episodes that is universally bad are RECAP EPISODES! (unless handles in a comedic way like Avatar the last Airbender The Ember island players episode)
@@Animating_Andy I didn’t ask for a novel reply, but my point still stands. Things become ruined because fans like to milk to hell out of pieces of media and it ruins it for everyone. We don’t need a bunch of spin offs or filler. The main continuity was just fine.

Too bad Konami are too stupid to make this kind of story or they just hate the character Joey Wheeler😒
They could do the same for Leo in 5ds.
Have jack win
Also unfortunately Ray had to step in to save the day once more.
In the manga, Shadi is shown with the key AND scales right from the beginning. @@phtuber5469

Why not just remove them altogether? It would make the story flow better.

Like watching movie characters go to the bathroom & eating ever meal fully

that would bore the hell out of the general audiences these shows need to be successful lol it would be cool though!
There's some things you missed:
●You forgot about the Yugioh Season 0 Manga that happened long before Duelist Kingdom, the Manga that gave birth to everything Yugioh and cemented Kaiba's path to becoming the best Rival Character.
I looooved as a kid the virtual world arc and even added that "Deck Master" style dueling with some friends back in the day.
Destiny draw and shining draw are different

Yugi and Atem should become brothers and we see them grow, and help others around them, removing the filler stuns that growth and other characters, even though the original filler does seem shoe-horned in
millennium puzzle: increases luck/ forces you to draw specific cards for the scenario
millennium eye: makes you see the opponents hand
millennium ring: points you on the path to victory (maybe shows the user when to respond to a certain action or which card to start off with)
millennium key: makes the opponent have a chance of "missclicking" in duels (basically they wanna set their monster in defense but they actually summon them or instead of setting MST they activate it but since there's no spells or traps on the opponents field they destroy their own ones)
millennium scale: weighs the opponents cards against yours in YOUR hand and on the field and gives you a description of how powerful your combo would be against what they have (ie you have an X% chance of being able to resolve your effect and summoning your boss monster)
millennium necklace: it shows you a vision of what the next turn will look like, but the vision is only 75% accurate (still high accuracy but can be avoided)
millennium rod: randomizes a sense and the next turn your opponent has to play without that sense (smell, sound, sight, taste or touch, losing touch, smell or taste wouldn't really be devastating but losing your sight or sound could just auto lose you the game)
I'm honestly shocked the millennium items haven't been turned into cards
If they did this without the Virtual World and Waking the Dragons arcs I don't want it.
Yea no way I'd jus like them 2 make a complete series of each season on DVD I kno I'm old but thats what I love and its hard as heck 2 find the dvds.

A lot of Kaiba's backstory in the manga was before Duelist Kingdom.

There are technically Kuriboh Pendulum cards, so they could theoretically add to the Kuriboh archetype by making a few more.
Let's compromise: "Ladies and gentlemen and others..."
I still want a series exploring the world of the monsters. (similar to the small animation they did 7 months ago where they showed various arch types in various animation styles) it'd be cool to learn more about individual monsters.
Benefits for Konami:
1. No longer have to worry about the rules of the game, which are ever changing, becoming out dated.
2. Can have stories as long or short as they want, and can always go back to a group later. (so they can do like, a 3-4 episode set focusing on the Elemental Heroes, and then do like a solo episode on Mokey Mokey/Mokey Mokey King, and then go into the Charmer Archetype a few episodes)
3. They can use this to show off new cards/cards that have made a resurgence, without worrying too much how someone would play them
4. People that don't necessarily care about playing the game might get interested in the show, and while maybe they won't buy as much merch as someone who plays, they might buy non card merch, or maybe they will buy cards to specifically chase a group they saw in the show for collection purposes
Cons:
1. You'd lose an avenue to visually show how the game works. (though I'd argue the show hasn't exactly been great for that historically with rules being bent, to ignored, to straight up defiled in some more egregious cases.
2. Probably others that I'm ignoring
Only cons ;
Konami decided to make anime based on visas lore 🙄
I do think that you'll need to adapt much of the pre-Duelist Kingdom content first if you're gonna cut out all the filler. I would say the show would go something like this:
Kaiba didn't just lose and then swear revenge, he was trapped inside a card and attacked by monsters
Kaiba didn't send people after Yugi, Mokuba battled him in Capsule Monster Chess (and threatened him with a knife), and then Death‐T happened.
Kaiba driving Gozaburo to suicide was before he fought Yugi.
What I liked about the 2017 dimensions movie is that it continued the story. It answered sole questions. So why not continue the story?
I think we are getting another sequel movie where Yugi and his friends are adults. Which would be super fascinating.

We saw Jadens side of the story, but Yugi is still there at that time so lets see how is he handeling end of the world from Secret Beasts and how Yugi reacts when his deck was stolen in Duel academy! So many options!
This is a great idea, it's very cool!!
Love the Millenium World Arc because this is where we finally see Atem and his reign as Pharaoh
Absolutely top scenario my friend
I would commit war crimes if their was the possibility of Yu-Gi-Oh being remade but they start from the actual beginning, Season Zero leading into Duel monsters with the kind of animation Dark Side of Dimensions had…. I would die happy.
I'll forever die on my hill and say Tea should run a Starry Knight deck.
*lobotomized
0:34 bro really said 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
If you do a remaster with modernized decks, they'd have to give Yugi a modern deck based around Exodia, either stall or FTK, neither of which tends to make for good television. (Though, they could use the Jeff Leonards strategy featured in the modern Yu-Gi-Oh! parody, which is particularly interesting because it uses every single summoning method, though that would be a complicated deck to introduce in the very first episode.)
For those who are wondering: Pegasus dies in the Manga and He’s alive in anime because he appears in GX anime
The Waking the dragon’s arc did also show that Pegasus is alive
they could honestly go with a sort of brotherhood styled way where they follow the manga for all the series as they've done alterations with filler and such so.....that could mean isntead of waking the dragons we could get the wicked gods arc of sorts....
Yu Gi Oh Kai with more manga material and duel logic updates to the battles would go crazy.

Hahaha yes 😂 very smooth
They should make mini story of Joey wheeler after dsod of his journey to become a great duelist
I recently just rewatched Yugioh on Crunchyroll with eng subs and I have read about the differences between the 4kids ver. of the show. But what surprised me the most was Yugi is very straightforward about the spirit in the puzzle, whereas in the 4kids it feels like he keeps it a secret or just his friends know
@@jeradhll The Gang already knew about the secret by that point in the manga
They knew about the spirit before the start of DM. They got told upfront in Duelist Kingdom but everyone knew yugi would change when they were in danger.

That … actually makes sense.
I mean if you include Death-T then you’ll have the context
nah they should just make stories based on archetypes, like the teaser we got from their new animation studio

You gotta keep the virtual world and waking the dragons arcs. Joey battles as a dragon, in a dragon battle suit, you can't change that greatness.

(Maybe you could even include some of the Season 0 stuff this way...)
Another way I wouldn't actually mind would be something like VRAINS - various characters from YGO universes get transported into a virtual world (where have we heard this concept before, I know lol) and they try to make their way out, battling and discovering the reasons why did they get transported here and who is behind all this madness.
I can see DM with effect similar to his Deck master ability effect something like
If Spell card is sent to the GY: you can target 1 Spell card in your GY; This effect becomes that effect when that card is activated
It’s a terrible idea. The plot won’t make sense anymore.
@@pn2294 Just updating everyone's decks to a more modern version isn't changing the plot though. lol
@@Alice_Haukea it absolutely changes the plot because the cards have plot significance and are reflective of each duelist’s character
they are slowly doing that with the older cards so....maybe??
They'd need to add in bits of Season 0 and fix the order of events that the anime version of the final arc in Season 5 had.
Never going to happen mate
Isnt yugioh anime for kids in Japan too tho
@@itanocircus2106Japanese versions are a bit more brutal cause people just straight up die, and guns everywhere (Yusei just had a giant piece of metal stabbed into his chest so it's not just DM either, that's pretty brutal for a protagonist). I believe it tones down for ZEXAL and beyond but I'm sure fans would love a redubbed 5D's, for example. It's probably kid rated over here but Konami would probably advertise these as "redubs for teenage and older audiences" or something, since they're so afraid of anything that even resembles a complaint from a strict parent.
@@accuratememin In Zexal Kaito literally dies on the moon due to oxygen loss after his duel with Mizar
I would actually combine the two virtual worlds arc into one. Place it between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City. I would give it 10 episodes, each member of the Big 5 has a one episode duel and each of them uses a different summoning mechanic.
These ideas were actually so sick! Would love to see a remake of the series with modernized duels and the wicked god arc!
Honestly I’d recommend a Yugioh Kai of the anime continuity DM. You do get to cut a good few episodes still, but the Doma arc would actually stay as it’s the basis of a good amount of GX and 5D’s lore is actually based on concepts introduced in Doma, including that the Seal might be a corruption of the Light of Destruction (or the Gentle Darkness, still figuring that out honestly.)
Basically you’d have:
Ep1
Duelist Kingdom
Rebecca’s Duel
DDM
Battle City
Battle City Finals
Doma
Millennium World

Both Virtual World arcs (as these generally don’t affect much of anything besides explaining Kaiba’s backstory which is nice but not that needed and an end to the Big 5 which isn’t that important.)
KC Grand Prix - which actually doesn’t make a lot of sense except in the Japanese version where it has to do with this park specifically and Kaiba holding a follow up for Battle City. But isn’t relevant that much.)
Honestly an anime about the game Yugi created sounds kinda hype ngl. Ever wince i saw that sphere like game ive been dying to know how it works
I've thought it might be fun if you did a What If-type video series going over what if different people partook in different key plot duels. One I'd love to see is what if Joey dueled Pegasus at Duelist Kingdom.
I think calling it Yu-Gi-Oh R might be fitting
Man Imagine if Konami sees this and instantly say*Oh I like this guy's idea.... Let's take them and make them our own!
If we really wanna make a remake, we should just animate the manga directly.
They are so different, but yet so important, that i think having it animated would really help people to get an idea of the yugioh cinematic universe.
It would also be a very good omage to takahashi, having the serie as he intended be animated.
remake season 0 if anything.
well, seeing not just DBZ but also One Piece is now getting it's revamped version with WIT Studio, where it's more artistically & canonically correct, I can't see why Yu-Gi-Oh! couldn't do the same.
Ok i wouldn't mind a Yugi and Joey get their driver's licenses episode
That ends with a card game on cars... Suck on that 5Ds
There is nothing in GX manga even halfway as interesting as Yubel or the Supreme King, or season 4 material for that matter.
The manga and anime difference is summed up as 'did the events leading to DSOD happened or not?'
Additional Point:
The famous "Say Goodbye to Exodia!" scene could be changed slightly with this as well. Weevil wouldn't just be trying to throw away Exodia, but instead ALL of Yugi's cards, but wasn't aware of his fragment system and instead just got the Exodia cards.
Snickers hearing 200 episodes being described as whopping. Thats cute Detective Conan and Onepeice would find that number cute as well
Still a lot of episodes my dude

@restionSerpentine I understand what I'm talking about. I'm talking about how you're really weird for making this a competition and acting like 200 epsiodes of a 22 minute show resulting in 3 full days of watching isnt a lot.
I would like a remake of the series and I want them to do it the same way they did the digimon remake. That way more side characters and duels can be fleshed out more
@@222dardar The Digimon Remake was horrible and made each of the characters even less important than they already were
Re: your point about the Millennium Items, I think it's WILD that (I believe) it's never outright mentioned that the Pharoah via the Millennium Puzzle gets a luck bonus for draws. That's such an incredibly core aspect of the character's power that is literally never outlined. So unless you know about it you just assume he gets BS plot armor. Such a weird choice.
I assume they wanted us to feel his luck was more like the power of friendship than the power of the Millennium Puzzle.
@@TKBomber7285 By "they" you must mean the Dub team, right?
@@Necromancer4267 The heart of the cards term specifically is a dub term I agree. However Yu-Gi-Oh loved to imply that friendship and unity won duels more than anything else. Which considering that's how Yami Yugi describes the power of the puzzle after the Shadow Game with Shadi in the manga makes sense.
I mean that’s how protagonists work.
Except the power of the Puzzle were outline in the manga. Nothing was said or implied about boosting luck. It was, The Power of Unity.
You could add to the idea that each Millennium Item having its own power also including tension where the item doesn't work for *insert reason here". I know you're cutting Oricalcum, but if you hadn't, having Yami lose the power of the Puzzle after having used the Seal until he manages to prove himself, maybe during his rematch with Raphael.
totally looking forward to Ishizu just hosing everyone (including the main villains) with unlimited TearShizu
She wouldn't get the tear cards, just the ishizu cards.
If they remake it based off the manga I REALLY hope they include season 0. It'll never happen, but I can dream.
Suggesting modernizing every character's deck so duels will last 2 turns and you can upload duel analisis' as shorts. 200 IQ move right there 😂
What I'd like to see is a nostalgia reboot that kinda reworks just enough things to last beyond DM into other sequels, or even fuses sequels with it.
I also wouldn't mind a darker tone like what the original was meant to be. A more Deathnote kind of vibe if possible.
@@OmnicidalClown1992 I would honestly just cut out the Joey parts since it’s clear that he was forced into being a duelist
@@pn2294 Then you might as well cut out the rest of Yugi's friends as they had even less to do than the Godfather of Games.
9:52 Sent to the Shadow Realm 🗿
First off. Don't. Second they keep making the ending worse by bringing back yami over and over again after his "final" farewell but guess he has a special ability that bounces him back to the field whenever Yugi is sucking at dueling or losing.
over and over? he came back once and because of millennium items, what are you on about
@@DamianQualshynot only that, he came back and only basically gave Yugi the physical strength to keep playing. Yugi didn't "suck" during that duel, he was going to win anyway, but the spirit damage fucking almost knocked him out.
Someone completely missed the entire point of DSOD
@@guiga1605 some people even claim that Mahad was a card asspulled by Atem, but I doubt he actually has the power to do so in this state, far away from his grave or anything Millennium related
You cant have Yu-Gi-Oh without Yu-Gi
Oooo imagine a yugioh with no filler no vurtual world arc but no waking the dragons
Yugioh with no filler arcs would be peak
Other than the first Virtual World arc Yu-Gi-Oh filler is so good. Kaiba vs Zigfried is still my favorite duel. The way Kaiba wins is the most calculated we've ever seen him.
