It's not the best way but it's cheap and good way for ~2k€ Toyota Corolla E120.
This is my first time speaking english in video, i did my best.
Also sounds and everything in the video is bit scuffed so show some mercy pls.
Thank you.

You did well and made an ugly rust hole look good again.
I did this in 1965 on my first car, a 1957 Karman Ghia. We didn't have a MIG welder then.
I dont know why people are watching this now after two years.
You got this recommended or something like that?
Thank you for watching, it was nice to see this old video gaining some views and likes.
Yes, it was recommended. I was watching similar stuff, how to weld and paint rusty car holes. Will try and do something similar with my old Volvo. Thank you for the video, showing all the steps and giving encouragement to do it myself. Also aiming for good enough and maybe to learn a thing or two.
@@viktors1 glad i can help. Its all about do and learn. Feel free to check out my new videos about my project. Its in finnish but with english subtitles.
Looking at similar videos preparing to start fixing rust on a Audi a3. This showed up in my feed. Good video, result was perfectly fine for a daily driver. Seeing biltema products was perfect for a swede like me 👍🏻
@@trennefeltbiltema ftw 😂
Jep tämä vaan tuli vastaan
I have great admiration for your clever approach.
I wish I learned how to do this stuff when I was younger. I’ve got an old 1975 Ford LTD Landau that’s pretty rusted out. It’s been my car for nearly 20 years but I haven’t driven it in many years. I’d love to fix it up. I can’t afford it. Great video.👍
Nice job, English is good enough for me. THANK YOU
I see you are doing very good job ..i also have some body welding my car and they come all over europe for him ..he is well none car restorer around here
Thanks for making this great video. I wish I could've viewed the metal bending process. You have a great sense of humor :)
Well done. The repair won't win a beauty competition but it will probably last longer than the rest of the car.
Haha, thats what i always say when i change entirely new rocker panels to some old +500k driven vw golf 😂
Tästä kuuli heti että on suomalainen ja helpompi suomalaisena ymmärtää tätä kuin "oikeaa" englantia. Jees veri nais guud jop
Brother, keep up the english videos. Your commentary is fuckin' gold 😂
These are the same things I mutter to myself, when working in the garage 🤘
Glad to hear. This kind of feedback really keeps me going, thank you.
I enjoyed your boring repair video 😂👍 so much so I subscribed and liked it 😂
To be honest it was nice quality repair. It wasn't your first time definitely :D Nice vid
Much better than rusty holes.....
Brings back lovely old memories of reparing crapy old cars
May be old video but anyone, please wear an appropriate mask when grinding this stuff.
To prevent, a friend has always spray-filled his rockers with grease (not oil) since brand new and he's never seen rust.
Had rust on door bottoms in 2016...started spraying inside and out with Ontario Canada product Corrosion Free 3000 purified mineral oil based product....sprayed every fall and spring....zero progression all the way till I sold in Jan 2023. 400,000 miles 2007 Honda Civic.
Grease really works ?
Vooral geen oogbescherming dragen als je met fosforzuur werkt
Zonder ogen zie je de roest ook niet meer. Probleem opgelost 😂
Sounds like Dracula
Hi, I liked it :-). Your english is typical Finnish and I love to hear. You also made things easy. Have a great summer
Quality by toyota. its rust from inward side poor anti corrosion coat
Most people don't even read the manual, and even less follows it, my manual from 2000 says if i use the car in winter i have to wash the undercarriage from inside and outside, then dry it out and put the plugs back in. Most people dont do that, 90% its the cause for rust over 20 years. In my opinion.
@ezustnyil8414 30 minutes of effort per year with Fluid Film or a similar product would have prevented that rust. Not sure why.he didn't spray preventive from the backside when it was exposed. Body work was very good. Paint blending would have made for a really nice repair.
Did. The job. Who cares how it looks at the bottom. Will last a long time that’s for sure. 👍
Nice job. It looks that will last some years.
Up to the point you used the rough chip guard, the repair was very good! The chip guard spoiled the finish, but it will still last a long time!
Yeah i was so pissed because i didnt know it was so coarse since there is so many smooth ones, but it is what it is 😂
@@rusakkou how is it holding up?

Good English too.
You did good job
Good effort, however that stone chip application... I would not be able to stand it, I would have gotten out the sander and removed it, but your car, not mine! lol
WE like your old videos 😂😂when your wear perkälä..😂😂
Very nice job!!!
Thanks good video really very informative .....😊😊😊
Good job. It would look better if you sanded the chip guard a little bit.
Random UA-cam recommend. Must be the time of a year
Good job but you should use a mask.

I had same on my 04 polo, luckily got hold of a local guy and he did a fanstic job for a good price both sides, behind the front wheels behind the wheel shroud was menat to be a plug, this had disintigrated and let water dirt in, would have been an MOT failer if any worse
funny how interested a wasp gets when you are working on something.
This guy is doing a museum worthy restoration of a 400,000,000 km toyota shi*box. "Hey man can you fix the rust?" Sure. (Pulls out engine and strips the car to the frame)

Very interesting video . A good solid repair that will last . I am doing similar work on my 40 year old Granada . Rust in similar places . Thanks for showing us your skill .
Amazing work
Wow that's one of the best rot repairs I have ever seen on UA-cam well done mate..you should work for Aston Martin
I can't tell if you're saying sheet or shit, but it never mattered
Good job 👍
Thanks!
It is BETTER to mix Filler on a Plastic Surface because cardboard absorbs the Moisture in Filler. Then it will harden before you can spread it...! 🤔🤔😇😇👍👍
Never heard about that 🤔 If you put too much hardener or room temperature is too high then its starts to harden before spreading.
Not board yet. aircraft structural mech. metal work.
That's not a permanent fix.
You need to cut all thrle oxidized metal. Only blank metal can remain.
When you use rust converter like phosphoric acid, you need to tinse the are with water, then dry it again and rinse it with break clean.
I think all rust repair are not permanent fixes anyways. You can never fully rust proof the seams between the welds, etc. If it lasts at least 5 years it's good.
your lung specialist will thank you for ^^
I can only describe the relationship between cars and us (mechanicly inclined) as Sado-Masochistic. We love to suffer and cars love to f**k us, inevitably. I'm thinking what I'll do on my Baru For Ester 2002! Thanks for video; I love to see how people sweat! 😊
Something like that 😂 i try to finish editing my next video today, more suffering coming.

You can get a similar result with epoxy. Here in the US they sell a product called "JB Weld"--I did the same thing on my car a couple of years ago. You have to overlap a little, so that the repair is raised, but if you fill in the gap with epoxy, it's really not noticeable down on a rocker panel once it's painted. Looks a lot better than a rust hole, anyway. This way you don't need the welder. I'm not sure I'd use epoxy on anything structural, but it's perfect for this.
Those 2k adhesives are legit if you know how to use them correctly 👍
It’s perfect fantastic job loved watching you well done😊
I love your russian gangster Accent xd
great but wear some safely gear ie mask glasses etc...
I like this rost then i have any to do 😂😂😂😂 good jop ! 👍👍👍👍👍
In a workshop they would probably have asked for around 500-600 euros, at least here in Germany
With proper paintjob thats pretty accurate here in finland.
A little more time shaping the steel, welding it in, using 40, 80 and 120 grit flap wheel would be an even better job and no need to use any filler. Then just prime and paint. Good work, corrosion is good for business, you can make a good living welding cars young man! Best regards, Jon in the UK.
Thanks. Shaping metal so you dont need filler is hard af, even i dont really handle that, yet, maybe someday. For a video i feel like this is good tutorial for beginners 👍
@@rusakkou
There are some artists that come close to that, but most of the time they use filler too. We should not stop repairing our cars ourself, it's a matter of independance.
@@gordononkyo2713 its okay to use filler. Just have to know how to use filler right.
With old cars you don't have to worry too much , do as you please but do it yourself.
Great video! Will start doing my Ford Focus tomorrow. Amazing job, Perkele!!
Thanks. Good luck. Patience and focus with your Focus.
This is funny and realistic approach. Not everyone wants to do a perfect show car restoration. But you didn't show us how to bend the metal.
Cant remember why i didnt film that. Just hammer and plank of wood did the trick.
You know all the best English words 😉 Where did you learn all the curse words you know? School?

A good solid repair on a decent car. Lots of people would not be able.
Drying the Dinitrol with the hot air gun defeats the purpose. Surely drying it before it has reacted with the remaining rust is bad idea.
Makes sense. Normally i let it dry over night but usually you dont have time for that.
Good enough for your own car. You extended the life of your car for another fiew years
That repair will probably last for the life of the car, but it is rather obvious and unattractive. Why did you decide to use that bumpy paint instead of the factory paint? For approximately the same effort you could have made a repair indistinguishable from the original.
My friend didnt want to use any more money so i just used left over stuff
@@rusakkou not too bad either
I've seen some vehicles that actually have that kind of rough texture in that area from the factory
I watched the speeded up parts on 0.25 playback speed because I wasn't bored
😂
that is the most dangerous gun for spraying gravel guard. if it's ever clogged and you pull the trigger it will blow that cheap plastic lid off and spray gravel guard everywhere. there is a pressure pot for those cans, a much safer way and no clogging
Never heard of that kind of gun and i bet those things cost a lot.

Yes this tutorial is for amateurs
I think those professional repair shops are cutting more corners because they have more cars to deal with. They are charging the highest prices and doing the least amount of work possible.
I like your welding helmet. Where did you get it?
Wish, aliexpress or something like that.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good job!
Good old Kemppi mig welder I have the same, but 1800 and I am very satisfied with it.
Best of the best. At work i have even older kempomat with argon and thats the best mig i have ever had.
What setting do you use when welding thin sheet metal on this machine?
Power is 4, feed someting like 3-5 maybe. Co2. Cant even remember what wire i have 😂
very good yeees
Please use a dust mask when you grind or sand something. Your lung will approve.
How do you weld this without burning holes everywhere
You have to cut the spot big enough so there is no rust left = metal is thicker. And your mig power needs to be as small as possible, but not too small so its going to burn fine. Also you cant really weld like 0.7mm and 1.2mm togeher, they burn different.
Sorry, its hard to explain because english is not my first language.
Cut and shape your repair panel first, then either fix the panel to the vehicle with cleco's and cut through both the new repair panel and the original to give a perfect joint or cut the original out and tack in the repair piece. Then, overlap tack on the lowest setting the welding can make a good tack and work your way around the repair panel until there is a continuous weld all the way around. Also, do not concentrate welding in one area, do three tacks and then go to the opposite side of the repair panel and move around the plate to weld in different places. Too much welding in one place will put too much heat in that area and blow through will occur.
Great job!
Could have skipped the bondo job when using structured paint in the end ...
Well i said in the video that i didnt know that wurth stonechip guard was so coarse. Normally its much more smooth.

Dice Enrique que es una chapuza
What is the thickness of your sheet metal? Did you use gasless mig?
Im not sure but 0.7-0.9mm, it was some leftover sheet. I use co2 with mig.
@@rusakkou Hum, CO2... Good to know. Do you have an inductance knob on your welder? Cause the CO2 brings more penetration in the mig welding process; you probably have to make the arc smoother, since the sheet metal is thin... Anyway, it works...
@@rbelang8331 Our kemppi has only feed and power. At work i have tiny ac/dc esab with argon and its pretty good with car welding. At our garage we use co2 because its a lot cheaper than argon and it's good enough with our mig and doings. Thanks for advice! Im not very educated about welding machines and stuff like that.

U could just buy a new car. Spending money helps the economy and the government
Thats just too easy, i like to play life at hard mode.
It also works wonders for the environment and you're wallet.
This is a lie. Be self sufficient
Start by analyzing the causes of the rust and address them, or the repair is temporary.
This shows how not to repair.
Then i would love to hear "how to repair"
I’d guess that repair will take the 20 year old corolla through a couple of years of inspection and keeping it on the road. That’s usually good enough here in finland.
Блиать!
erm properly would be butt jointed and TIG welded.. rather than Pidgeon Shit welded tack-ons.
For most people "properly" means that its welded. I dont have tig welder and most of the people dont have. I did what i could for that old rusty corolla and its good enough and cheap fix, not the best way.
katastrophe.............
What do you mean?
