Today, Apple launched Final Cut Camera for the iPhone - a new application that will help you take more professional videos from your iPhone's camera. This was released alongside Final Cut Pro for iPad 2, which brings the long-awaited Multicam feature! This video shows both applications and how they work.

FINALLY! Will you be using this app instead of Blackmagic/other similar apps? I wish we had LUTs but hopefully in a future update!
I wish you could take extremely long exposure photos instead of the 10 seconds you can right now with night mode

I was running towards the S24+ for my next buy, just because it have A.I on device, also because the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are beyond my wallet capacites. But, this app and all its functionalities made me re-think and buy a 14, or a 15, just because it is smooth and feature full compared with other apps on iOS and Android.

Been wishing this for long.. but doubt that it’ll come, as this video app compliments their main Final Cut Pro app.. there’s nothing proprietary for photo editing yet

So basically a lot of the paid camera apps just died huh lol
The Black Magic app is also free and I would expect Black Magic users to continue using it as it's very like the interface on an actual Black Magic camera. For the casual user though - this looks like it could be brilliant.

And see soo much hate towards apple ( especially from Samsung clowns ) !!! And yes - if we think deeper - android ( especially Samsung) copies apple more than what apple copies from android !!!
@@Sameerkadav2003 But just because something might be on Android does not mean it should not be on Apple. The home screen customisation improvements are long overdue and might actually entice some Android users to come over to Apple. Multiple players in a market is a good thing, when they compete properly, the end user wins.

They give us a PRO phone with a PRO camera but never a pro camera app for photos 👌🏻 mint.
Because PRO means professional and there are a billion videographers and not many photographers … it is realistically possible to shoot an Oscar winning film and documentary on IPhone .. no one cares about photography anyway 😂 and therefore I am glad apple did not waste time and resources to cater to self obsessed narcotise image posting crowd 😂😂

Looks like a great app. Can you please tell me why they couldn’t take it one step further and use it for still photos as well. Sure would be nice if we were able to do all our camera work with one app.
Probably because they developed it to be used as a supplement to Final Cut Pro for iPad

Looks super clean and I love that it just "magically" connects to the other Apple devices, but in terms of Multi-Cam editing I think Davinci Resolve still takes the cake here.
Brandon were you able to record video to your external storage? With me it detects the storage but when I press record it does not start

This is something that I miss dearly from my Samsung phone. Being able to leave the shutter open for like 30 seconds for lightning storms and fireworks shows. Adjusting iso, white balance, and focus. All just one touch away.
I am honestly considering going back to android now that photos and videos won't be potato quality over text.
By the way, those multi cam features aren’t just for the iPhones connected. I did this with two of my insta 360 camera cameras a few weeks ago. It even synced the videos together too.
Finally! I've been dying for a way to change some of the settings in camera that you have to open the main options! Woooo!

That multicam feature is amazing I would have thought that black magic would have had that first on some type of module that connects into their cameras to give any phone the ability to monitor multicam but this is amazing

This is great! I downloded the app. Missing: LUT, s&q, time lapse, 120fps option, shutter angle, horizon lock, level meter, face detect options. pro photo options (I know it's just for video bc it's fcp),
Wow, we waited for this for years!
It looks amazing! I was trying it out a bit earlier with my 14 Pro Max. I'm not sure why but after a little bit of being in the app, the preview feed goes all stuttery. It happens in other apps like Kino too, but not the stock Camera app. Makes it really difficult to frame a moving shot when the video is stuttering and lagging half a second or more behind.

I'm been playing with the app and it was very easy use. I like the minimal UI. But I'd still go back to blackmagic for apple log on hevc when I don't have ssd with me.
Oh my god. I’ve been wanting manual controls for the iPhone for years. I swore I heard something about this during the event but I was busy at work and just caught the back end of it when they were talking about light trails

This looks really promising and I'm planning to try it out. Only thing is that Multicam can be tricky when the only devices that seem to be supported are the iPad and the iPhone...that is, most have only one of each. I also have a pair of Sony cameras and I wish they could be part of the mix. Also, not sure if the footage saved is for Final Cut only, or if it can be used with other applications such as LumaFusion. I'll be following this interesting development. As ever, thanks for the informative video!

multicam is game changer in terms of home studio and even going out to do real live production.
I’ve used a connected Gimbal with my iPhone and Filmic Pro for many years. I didn’t notice an option for the ProCam app to allow it to connect to external hardware like a gimbal. Did I miss that or is that likely a potential upgrade in the future?
Could these zoom settings be controlled remotely, say, like a dji gimbal?

Hi! Can this camera also be rotated, front and back camera change, change while making a video? They still don't seem to want to add front and back camera switching to the iphone while filming, that's a shame! However, it's good that there will be a Pro app!

i wish we got something for the photo mode as well. The default camera has horrible over-processing and there is no way to get around it without having to capture raw and then editing to reverse the processing.

Really cool feature. Though the live multicam is locked behind the fcp ipad app subscription sadly. Hoping this can come to the desktop app in some way.

I was really waiting for the release, but I don't think I'll be using the app. It lacks my most beloved feature that I just can't go without anymore - being able to record LOG in H265.
