Watching this on my Macbook and the intro studio shot legitimately looks better on the iPhone than the Canon. The sharpness looks practically identical and the colour of your beard is slightly more pleasing on the iPhone. Insane potential.
I was hoping you would make this video 😄
I was even looking for it After release before reluctantly watching someone else.
Well thanks for still watching 😅 I planned to be there for release but when we recorded the podcast and realized there was no live switching, I had to change the plan
Would be nice if LOG had a display lut or gamma assist
Been waiting for this 🎉 Thoughts on the m2 air’s capabilities to do the above?
I really hope they bring all these features to the Mac, seems like all their FCP attention has gone to iPad lately
Hey Tyler. Thankyou. I use the cinematic setting quite a bit… I assume that this is really not happening with this app.
No, cinematic mode is still only compatible with hevc videos in the default camera app
any timestamping? if you want to line up multiple clips when editing
Nice, but how can you sync external audio devices? (Like zoom recorders…)?
Would be there an option to preview iPhone camera on iPad without the subscription of Final Cut?
FINALLY
Using HEVC+HDR, are the videos from Final Cut Camera "overly sharpened" similar to videos recorded using the stock camera app?
Do you have a similar clamp for iPad?
Would be nice if these could be forced to save to the camera roll (if the format/extension were supported)
Yeah I thought it would be an option
Is it possible to use FCP on the Mac with this app or only the iPad? And if you can only use it with the iPad what is the best way to move the files to the Mac?
It's only on the iPad, hopefully it comes to Mac. 90% of the time I AirDrop my files to the Mac but if they're really big then the app iMazing lets you download from your phone as if its a normal camera
How to use the camera? - delete it, install the BlackMagic one and use H265 + LOG internally, which the Apple one can't do :)
It’s embarrassing for Apple that 3rd party apps are superior to theirs.
I wish FCC had more features but BMC is also still buggy. Hopefully it will all be better soon
And use a LUT Apple Log to REC.709!

Question: if you record (let’s say on 3 iphones, different angles) the multicam will work only if an iPad is also on and connected?
You can always record Multicam with just a few cameras, all video editing software can sync them later. The iPad just lets your monitor everything and automatically creates the project with the files in place
@@stalmanthank you. Appreciate your reply
I heard that all the phones/Ipads need to be on the same Apple ID in order to connect, is this true?
They do not, as long as they have the app they will connect
I managed to connect another phone with another Apple ID. On the other iPhone camera app you should be able to see the iPad as a device on the list and click on that. Then a code will appear on the iPad asking if you want to allow the iPad to control the other iPhone. You then put the code into the other phone. It has to be paired again the next time you set it up. It works fine on the same WiFi network - but the first time I did this I had to do some turning iPhones on and off before it worked. Hope that helps.
So what I’m hearing is use Blackmagic - got it
Or kino, or this app. FCC is still less buggy than BMC and has better stabilization
@@stalman may I ask, what you’ve found buggy on BMC? The benefits are immense and worth using over FCC
hi, how do i get out of video mode into stills mode please
Final Cut is all about video, for a great stills camera I'd check out Halide
HEVC is h.265
Is there a post workflow to transfer a multicam timeline to Resolve?
I haven’t done it yet but you can import a multicam xml to resolve. It might have to go through a Mac first
@@stalman Thanks Tyler
For the life of me I don’t know why this all couldn’t just be a tab on the native camera app…
Hii❤
So - is the idea that the people you are doing a podcast or live interview setup with - provide you with their phones for the shoot? - or - are we now expected to all have 3 or more iPhones (and an iPad PRO = the cost a MBP)? personally I only have 1 iPhone - since I trade in my old one for the new one....so we should go buy multiple iPhones now?? I would just rather buy multiple cameras! and vs. a thousand dollar iPad - I would just go get a thousand dollar MacBook and have a FULL version of Final Cut Pro. There was a time when doing stuff on the phone was a cheaper route - I would say that time has come and gone and now its just as expensive (if not more) and essentially HARDER since you have so many workarounds (hard drives, battery life, PORTS) this is crazy to say but - CAMERAS are seem like a WAY better tool for video and photography - but im just a Dinosaur!
it's another option bro, nobody's forcing you to do anything you don't want to
Buy what works best for you and fits your budget. I bet you can pick up a couple iPhone 12 for way less than mirrorless cameras, now you have another option
Whats the point of this ridiculous half-baked product when we already have Blackmagic Camera app which is totally at another level from this apple crap?
