      it is TRULY impossible for me to care less what people think of me out in public.
      I’m 52 years old now.
      In your 20’s you spend all your time worrying what people think of you.
      In your 30’s you stop caring what people think of you.
      In your 40’s you realize no one was actually thinking about you in the first place.
      I’m free from the triviality of petty self-consciousness.

      @@TedNemeth I see it that way : No one knows you, everybody only knows the image they created of you in their mind... If they don't know me, they can't judge me, they are only judging their own construct of me.
      Also, no one can judge me as harshly as I do ^^, so I'm prepared... but working on that one.

      @@ejpierlewhat Uncle Sam doesn't know won't hurt him. I'm not sure how they got phillydronelife, but in whatever UA-cam videos they used as evidence, he would have had to have admitted that he was by himself while on camera wearing the goggles and flying, otherwise there's no way for them to prove that he was by himself and that he didn't have an observer behind the camera. Don't admit to breaking the law when doing so, it's kind of the first rule of breaking stupid laws.

    Just as a heads up - you are required to fly the drone by VLOS (Visual Line of Sight); other then (prescribed) glasses you are not allowed to use any aid, no goggles, no binoculars etc. If you want to use your goggles in public space you do need to have a spotter (observer) working with you to be compliant. Alternatively maybe there is a way to get a waiver, which would need to be formally requested (e.g. to go beyond visual line of sight)

    • @therealgermanshedder
      @therealgermanshedder 2 місяці тому

      Exactly! He really should be honest about how he is complying with the FAA drone regulations to use this piece of equipment to fly a drone in the United States. If he isn't using a visual observer or a VLOS waiver he is breaking the law and misleading the people watching this video.

  • @stowgood
    @stowgood 3 місяці тому +2

    In the UK I can't use this without a spotter can you use the controller screen at the same time? Can you make it so you can't see any of the info and just get a clean camera view? If you can it would be fun to let someone else watch while you fly. I think I am more interested in using it to live steam using the HDMI out not so much the mask.

    I fly the DJI FPV and that’s fun flying. I like doing the film editing on computer but just looking at a small screen while flying is not flying. Googles put you in the vehicle. I have to sit when flying it or I will fall. That’s how immersive it is.

    Ted, I’m a big fan of your channel. Keep up the great work! This video is quite timely as I just purchased a Mavic 3 Classic to accompany my Mini 3 Pro and have been seriously contemplating purchasing the Goggles 2. I can only imagine that having a FPV of a scene should benefit filmmaking as one should be to able to “feel” the shot. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I’m sure it’s coming. I look forward to your follow-up video regarding the use of the Drone Mask, and perhaps one of the DJI offerings as well.

    The goggles 3 are literally made for this, with DJI drones. You don't need to touch the screen or anything. IDK if I'd just buy them on their own, but if you get the Avata 2, you can use it with the other DJI drones, with either RC or the Mo-Con, or the FPV con.

I also plan to drill some space for the hands below and cover it with something soft to avoid light getting in and allowong fingers to touch the screen. Also bought a 1,5m transmission data usb c to usbc for it. I plan to fly the dji mini 3 with rc n1 with it.

    • @InfiniteSuccessAcademy
      @InfiniteSuccessAcademy 2 місяці тому

      @@tommyslavic898 I lose sight of my Mini2 almost every flight. Not because of distance, but because the grey color blends in with the skyline at times. I usually am able to see it again, but a few times I had to press return to home and only saw it again once I heard it coming in for a landing. I just recently applied some neon orange wrap to the drone, but haven't flown it since, because of weather conditions. I'm sure it will help. I've thought about adding an LED light, but many of them put the mini2 over the 250g weight. I thought I'd try the wrap first.
