That project turned out great. Much better sounding exhaust. That video reminded me of my youth as an apprentice welder. I did lots of TIG welding. I am a retired automotive detailer and a former welder. Injuries prompted me into a different line of work all together. Keep up making these awesome videos Dmitry!
Thanks Mark! Glad you enjoyed the video. I wish I was better at TIG welding, but I'm still a novice. I'll get there eventually, at least the weld penetrated and doesn't leak air, hah!
I think its an acceptable big engine truck sound at highway speed. My understanding is the new trucks have DFM not AFM. So they run on 17 different possible cylinder patterns which are calculated 80 times a second. So this means it's not necessarily running on 4 cylinders and making a terrible sound. The only time I've ever heard any strange exhaust notes is at low cruising speeds like 20-40 mph with very little to no throttle input. Occasionally it will start to almost sound like its misfiring but only from the exhaust note. I think it just gets into a super whacky cylinder configuration in a high (numerically) gear when there is no engine load. I would say I don't even hear this every time I drive. Not sure if any exhaust system can get around this really strange condition, but the good news is I really don't hear the cylinder deactivation like 99% of the time.
I kept the resonators. Wanted to keep it at a “touring” or so level of volume/tone. Came out really clean. All bass, doesn’t really scream at high revs. Thanks for watching!
Any idea where I can actually buy these valves? They must be dirt cheap the way you guys delete and chop them off lol. I wanted to add them to my setup to reduce some of the low rpm sound and drone.
That sounds amazing compared to the original. Were those valves electronically controlled? Were you able to just disconnect them without errors? I know the Dodge ones cannot simply be deleted, there are hack workarounds for them.
Thanks! I like the sound too. These valves were just spring operated. They don’t offer electronic control for exhaust sound on these trucks as far as I know. So its pretty sample to delete them.
I didn't find it drone-y, but it's a bit subjective. The flapper valves absolutely make the truck whisper quiet, so you get the v8 sound back. I think it sounded good, but again some people are very sensitive and would prefer the stock noise level.
Your not “walking the cup” . You have absolutely no motion with your right hand… your right hand should be the only thing moving, back and forth, which the ceramic cup remains still, remember , cup still , handle back and forth .

I drive my 6.2 trailboss on road trips often. Any drone while driving on the highway with afm?

@@DmitrysGarageThanks for the reply! I have a 2019 Sierra also, I'm going to do the same as you. I like the tone as well.🤙

No clue. But if you’re in houston you’re welcome to come take my muffler lol.

Borla is the best! This sounds groovy af.... I have the ATAK on my challenger and love it!
Yea supper happy so far, was enjoying it yesterday as I drove around :). The atak is super loud, I'm sure its great on the challenger!
ive got the same squealy 6.2L in my 2022 trailboss.
Is there any drone ?

Does it drone alot without the flappers?
I dont perceive it as much drone. Never bothered me. The flaps really do make it nearly silent. It is a V8 so there will be some rumble.
Great job D.came out and sounds awesome.
Thanks Richard!
Sounds really good! Awesome video. Thanks.
Thanks Gabriel, appreciate you watching my videos :)!
Nice job dear Dmitry 👍👍👍
Thank you 👍 Glad to see you here again :-)!
