VF stands for Variable Frame; this is a concept I have used from the very start, so to make frame size variable was all part of getting all of the builders into their dream machine. Small full suspension Crosskarts/Buggies/Go Karts do not have to be one size fits all when you build a KJ Raycing VF-1.
I would like to thank all of the builders for sharing their builds, you guys are amazing and I appreciate every one of you. Enjoy the sneak peeks at the upcoming videos!

I would love to see how my go kart compares to your cross cart. Next time at mini mayhem it should be running.
I'll be there in April!
You're on man!! Can't wait. Are we talking drag, mx track, trails or some hooning?
@@KJRaycing I would like to compare on all those. Of course my go kart is not stock you’ll probably kick my butt but that’s ok. I just wanna see how close they are to each other and the advantages of the cross cart. I hope to see you in April.
I plan on doing a v twin build when I get around to getting some tooling and some space I have a 1997 honda shadow that I'm gonna use it's the 1100 just getting some tooling and some space before I FULLY dig in it's gonna be great
Hi there. Im 6'2 300 on average. Do you do complete build for guys my size? Ive been to the sxs stores, and nothing i sat in felt comfortable enough for me to buy. There was no way i could feel comfortable riding in them, especially for a long amount of time. Please help cause there is nothing else that i know of, thats out out there. Even though i have a muscle car, i can modify, im more into light weight off road stuff, if i have to spend a good amount of money. Thanks in advance
Hello, my name is Alireza... I live in Iran... and my job is blacksmithing.. I am very interested in making buggies and I would be happy if you could send me the plans for making a buggy yourself.. Sorry if my English is not good.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Iim thinking of using my 96 sportster 1200 for this but I want to make it street legal
Do you think it would be somewhat easily possible to do a longer stretch and widen the wheelbase? I want to build a buggy with more long travel capabilies for harder trail stuff. I ad a 2 seater Ridge Runner buggy with 16" of travel on on wheels that I could drive anywhere. I miss that thing lol.
I really like the travel and features of the Barracuda Mkii By The Edge Products, but the simplicity of your design looks so much more appealing to build!
The frame can be stretched as much as you want on any of the models. Width can be adjusted as well but is a little more involved, you would have to lengthen all of the a arms and the miata axles. Totally possible. But as is you can get 15” of travel, I just use secondhand shocks because I’m a budget builder. Thank you for telling me about the Ridge Runners, I’ve never seen those before! Super cool!
are you in NEW YORK if so where about, I'm in NY didn't know how far away you are from me?
Just curious on what the wheelbase and track width is on the vf2
Subbed and binge watching your videos. Only because one of your videos stated your preferred seat went up $100, I was wondering if you have tested these from Spec-D. I have not. I like their sliding and reclining features also. Thank you so much for your videos.
Those last scenes are at Cars and Cameras' place! I can't wait to see that video
Same here! Such a blast!
5 10 and a 29 inch inseam.
I don't fit in things that I should because they are built for guys like you at our height, and can't reach the ground on bikes that people shorter than me can haha.
Also if a 459 Predator is enough, think of the zillion other engine options that opens up.
You are a pretty awesome size for a crosskart, especially one you can build specifically for how you want it to fit. Build on man!
Instead of the V-twin, use a V4 Ducati Panigale engine on a 3" stretch. That would be a very interesting build. I'd Love to see that. Keep up the good work, and keep those awesome uploads coming.
Hmmmm hard choice against a gixxer
So if it runs ok on a Pred 420 (15ish hp?), I would probably be ok with a DRZ400 engine with 31-34ish hp?
They don’t need as much power as anyone thinks. I thought the same thing, put a buddy on the back of your drz and see if it is still fast 👍
Its like a Honda Odessy for adults.
Hi, I like all your builds they are very nice and cool, and glad you care to share your love of building you have made a nice buggy to build on. still would love to see your version of a 4WD one.
Do you build and ship
I learned about you through Cars&Cameras. Love this idea! I also live in upstate N.Y....for now!
I want to build one of these,I'm thinking the 3" stretch version, looks like a blast!!!!
I am considering building one of your VR carts as my next project. I would need to stretch the VR-2 (I am 6'5" and 310# and want 2 seats). Do you know if anyone has tried a shaft drive? T he reason I am asking is that I have an '05 C90 Boulevard that is currently collecting dust in storage.
"3 inches to me sounds pretty perfect" couldn't have said it better myself
A 4x4, 2 seater model would be awesome. I'm looking at chain drive to the front.
I'm working on the 4wd stuff, I have a list of things to finish up first, then we'll see about turning all 4!
Can't wait. We need 4x4 for New Zealand mud farm
Nice vehicle. Too bad not everyone is a welder.
Neither was I brother…. How to Get Started in Fabrication

Hey mate thinking of buying a set of your plans but was just wondering if they come in millimetres for us in Australia or if it's just inches. Cheers
They are in inches but plenty of Aussies and Euros have just taken a little time to convert them. I’m tried several times to convert them in CAD but it doesn’t work and the measurements get way off. The plans are very easy to convert, and I have added measurements in mm where I could.
@@KJRaycing thanks
Hey there buddy! I'm doing a V-twin build. Honda VFR 800 Fi engine. Running quite a long stretch to accommodate the engine. Modified Fouquet chassis. I can't wait to drive this thing!! V4 sounds epic with just a rudimentry 4 into 1 exhaust! Are there any forums I can become a member of? This is an open question to anyone who reads this comment! I don't use FB, Discord etc etc. I'd love to share thoughts , opinions and ideas with a like minded group of peeps!! Keep up the good work KJ!😍😍😍😍😍
Considering making one of the 3" streched versions with a KTM 890 engine. Ill have to get a few more tools first.
I made my own kart, totally improvised , based on my experience, then I found out this channel and Im now itching to build one of these and join the family! I thought about an 883 v2 because theres so much aftermarket!! Heres my kart, before I dropped it down 4 inches, it helped tremendously on the handling but in this video you can see how much body input you had to make. I think after making this one work so well, Im sort of ready for the real deal. ua-cam.com/video/0J6g-myi-f0/v-deo.html
Intrested to know what is the overall length, width and height of the regular one. Including the atv arms and your recomended wheels.
Im dont manage to understand the size compare to go kart and sidebyside. Tanks.
Would love to see a convergence on Durham town in Georgia for these things. Gp track, turbo track, and lots and lots of trails ! These things would be a blast there. When I’m not working 65 to 80 hours a week I’m going to start my builds on a few of them.
I want to build one so bad, my only barrier is a tube bender and convincing the wife I need to build another toy haha one day
"convincing the wife" Dude as long as you are the one making the money do what you want with your own money.
@Thorgon-Cross sounds like you don't have a wife and kids Or you have a bigger fun budget then I do
@@jgsn5029 No big budget, no budget at all, just tired of seeing guys act like they are a slave to their wife.
I've been married 16 years, this guy knows what he is talking about. I fixed up and sold an old boat in my driveway to afford my bender; that's how you make your ladies happy.
@@KJRaycing I can not imagine marring a woman that would be so controlling over money they did not work to earn. Nor tolerating being treated like crap that way. Maybe that is just me do to growing up with abusive parents so I don't put up with being mistreated anymore.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing the comparison video.
I’m an average side person but i went with the xl for more room. Looking at it, I would agree with the big tires. It’s going to look so rad!!
Anywho, I got all my plans and tools ready. I had expected to start this winter but sadly I have to wait until summer and possibly next winter.
Nonetheless I’m thankful for all the new videos, the FB channel and all you have created to keep the dream going. You’re truly inspiring and I couldn’t be more happy to have found your channel. I only wish I would have found it much sooner!
Thank you Kyle, you’re the best, man!
The car with the Predator twin sounds like it could make a great entry car for people coming in; a claimer race, the engines always worth the new price at HF.
I'm only 1/4" taller and 25 heavier. The standard Vf-1 is gonna be perfect. Though I can't make race car sounds till I get the seat.
I love that you know the race car sounds tradition! I so should have done it in this video... can't wait to see your build man!
I wish we could've seen a vf2 comparison
How long does it take you to build on chassi from the start
What is the track width? from hub to hub
Any builders out there? I need one of these
Vf1 xl plan costs
$50
got mine as 2 seater honda cbr 600 f r 2
Love all the new sweet shots!! The last few seconds of the video, I LOVE hearing that high rpm zx11!
I had to put a little taste of it in there, man I loved hearing it finally let loose!
I love the race spec kart . I'm building the same one. But with square tube because I have 3 hundred feet of it . But what I thinking is a older v4 Vmax engine .
The race spec one feels exactly that! I'm super curious to see the square tubing setup, I love when adjustments can be made successfully. I've been trying to get my dad to give his old V4 Yamaha Venture to be the heart of a two seater, so I know where your head is.
Plan on using buell 1200cc v twin Harley motor
YES!! In a crosskart that rear cylinder won't overheat your man parts!
hi, what you use type metal tube and dimension inside/outside
It’s in the plans and on the channel 👍
Great job.
Do yall have plans for your jig?
Plans for the jig are in… the plans 👍
Do you own six of them?? Lol! So jelly
No no no. Those are just a few of the many different builds. So cool to see them together.
Has anyone made a 4wd or all wheel drive?
A guy in the F***book group is doing something with electric front drive motors.
where i can get the plans??
Links to everything in the description. Or kjraycing.com 👍
9:27 who's photo is that because it's a gw motor and I have questions
Have you bought the plans and joined the group? They're likely in there and will be happy to answer your questions.
They are very active in the group and their build is one of the coolest. You have to have the plans to get into the group though, the public group failed because of the turds of the world. The builders group only is absolutely amazing, I've never been a part of another group like it. Everyone is so helpful and there is zero judgement or negativity. I guess the VF-1 draws in the kind of people I admire.
How much feet of metal did you use total?
It’s in the plans 👍
@@KJRaycingI love what you are doing and want to dwseater for the sand , is it posable to get the travel needed?
Can you leave a link to the video of you're guy's event where you all got together?
It's not out yet, I was just sprinkling in some teasers to get you guys excited. You'll see it soon enough.
@@KJRaycing Right on man keep the videos/info coming.👍😎
